Thankful for Melissa. She has been a major asset in my perimenopause journey. I would've been so lost had I not known this channel. I still have a ways to go, but through listening to tips Melissa has given I've lost 12lbs plus body fat. I don't depend on a scale. I can look at my back where rolls of fat were and now it's smooth. Ladies don't go too hard, a little goes a long way. Meaning don't go into the gym and just go crazy, you'll burn yourself out. Go light for short periods of time but stay consistent.
@shalayne9054 Seriously, those back rolls!smh I'm relatively small 135 pounds but top heavy and feel bad about the way I look. I just signed up for her 6 week shred, on day 4, and going through sugar withdrawal. Thanks for posting your progress. It may help me get through today! Good luck!
I discovered (this summer due to early eating upsetting my stomach after all these years) eating two times (1130/12 and 5/530p.m.)per day 60to70 grams of protein per meal (1 plant based and 1 leanest meat) and NO SNACKING along with strength training 3 times per week. Several short walks throughout the day while at work to get the steps in. I also take a blood glucose support (cinnamon and something) when i eat.
Amazing information! I’m 48 and just starting menopause- I’m on HRT and it has helped tremendously. But I’m also trying to implement the other lifestyle hacks to help feel even better 💪❤️ Thank you 🙏 for your amazing content!
I have come so far in my fitness and health journey and you have been a major part of that! Thank you! This video helps reinforce healthy habits I've implemented the last 3 years. I've considered HRT but I don't think I will take it. Since changing my lifestyle the hot flashes are greatly lessened and I have recently stopped drinking coffee and alcohol altogether! What a difference that made! My favorite hacks in this video are sleep and managing stress. Meditation is so important as you said. I will be reading Becoming Supernatural, love Dr. Joe Dispenza! Thanks so much for your education and guidance. I would love so much to participate in your 8 week challenge!

I had a huge tumor, which resulted in a hysterectomy. Yes, the fat is accumulating around the middle. I have the stomach pooch and thighs. It is frustrating. I didn't realize that it is not just coffee, but diet soda like Coca-Cola or Mt Dew have high caffeine. There are days when I do well, and then I go crazy. I want noodles and ice cream. Then, the entire day is ruined.
I understand how frustrating that can be. It's important to remember that occasional indulgences don’t have to ruin your progress. Consider focusing on small, manageable changes and finding healthier alternatives for your cravings. Balance and consistency are key, and you’re making progress with every step you take!
I can't take HRT because I'm a breast cancer survivor and sometimes is hard with perimenopause symptoms. Wow you are 57! You have beautiful skin. Please make a video on how you take care of your skin including your skincare routine. Thank you so much for all the great information. I work out at home and I feel very tired sometimes but I don't give up. God bless you!
Thank you so much! I admire your strength and dedication, especially through perimenopause. For managing symptoms without HRT, focus on balanced nutrition, strength training, and stress management. I’ll definitely consider a skincare video soon! Stay strong!

I’m an active person, lifting weights, walk, bike, dance - I’m trying to figure out how do you eat 1300 calories a day when your move calorie is less than that ? I’m eating right but trying to figure out how to lose this fat around my mid section . I was successful last year losing body fat but I was on a very calorie restrictive diet ( - trying to lose 10-15 lbs)

You have helped me so much. I am not as perfect as you, but I have made huge improvements in my hormones and my protein intake. Maybe one day suck it up and do all the things that make me look like you but not yet.
I'm so glad to hear that you're making progress! It's not about being perfect, but about taking steps toward feeling your best. Every improvement counts, and it's amazing that you're already seeing positive changes. Take your time, go at your own pace, and celebrate how far you've come!

Hi Melissa, looking forward to one day doing one of your programs, your advice is spot on and very balanced thank you so much! I have a quick question regarding magnesium, which type do you recommend as there many, oxide, citrate, orotate, taurate. Thank you in advance for this answer and retroactively for all the wonderful health content you do for women out age range ✨
Magnesium Glycinate is for better sleep, reduces stress and anxiety and for mood balance, and is also gentle on the stomach. However, if you have specific symptoms you want to target, you might consider other forms of magnesium. Hope this helps!
Hello Melissa! This video is extremely helpful. I'm 51 and struggling to lose weight especially around my midsection. I love strength training but lately I've been dealing with lower back pain and sciatica which sometimes makes that difficult for me, especially when doing deadlifts which I absolutely love. It's my favorite exercise. What do you recommend for women dealing with back pain that interferes with working out? When this happens to me, I stop and stretch my back and hamstrings then try to continue if I can.
Hi Sherry! You may do warm-ups before doing your workout. Then cool down and do stretching after the workout. You may try yoga as well for improving your flexibility. Also, make sure you have a good technique when doing lifts to avoid injury. Additionally, you may get a good sports massage every 6 weeks to help sort muscle tightness and avoid injuries.
@MelissaNeil hi ♡ do you have a oatmeal alternative ? I cannot eat that or porriage or anything like that sort incluing grains... i have ibs and lots of gastro issues in 50 yrs old but since I was a child I could never eat those things ...I immediately break out in hives PLUS GET RIDICULOUS bloated like if I'm 8 months pregnant. ... I can do lentils in small amounts but nothing in the oatmeal family at all ...
I need more information on the 8 wk challenge. Your website is very sell oriented and i just want information. I like reading up on the processes before i blindly spend money. Your videos only give minute amounts of info not enough to make an informed decision for me. I have a few physical limitations and im older. Please advise?
I only started gaining weight when I went on beta blockers for high BP, I couldn't get an alternative that works where I live (New Zealand) so I'm kinda stuck with it and the problem with this medication is it makes it impossible for me to take anything like Ashwaganda and Berberine...

I have estrogen dominance it's hell on earth have tried biodenticals and dim no good really bad headaches joint pain plantar facitis weight gain struggling to get protein as plant based but can't do tofu. Anyone any advice???? Thx.
I’m sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with estrogen dominance. Since you mentioned plant-based eating, you might find alternative protein sources like lentils, chickpeas, quinoa, or seitan helpful. As for joint pain, increasing omega-3 intake from sources like flaxseeds or chia might help with inflammation. If you're struggling with weight gain, incorporating strength training into your routine can be very beneficial. I recommend checking out my program for more guidance on managing these concerns: melissaneill.com/programs/.
I walk every day for 1.5hrs as I have dogs, I also exercise, I don't drink alcohol but I am still putting weight on . For me food is the problem as I am a very picky eater. I have tried to eat these foods that are high in protein and good for you but cannot stand the taste. Is there anything you can recommend other than eggs, fish, cottage cheese, or tofu.
@@claregracie7259 enjoy a juicy steak and grilled chicken for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Don’t hold back and you’ll fill up quickly. Protein shakes, roast beef, meatballs, etc - if you get full with protein first, it’s easier to reduce carbs. Make sure whatever you buy has no or low sugar. You’ve got this.
I understand how frustrating that can be! It sounds like you're doing great with your daily activity, but I know picky eating can make healthy eating tough. We have a range of programs that might help you find meals you’ll enjoy while still supporting your goals. You can review them here: melissaneill.com/programs/ to find the best fit for your needs. You said a 1g or protein per pound of body weight. Do you mean goal body weight or current body weight? I weigh 200 lbs. How in the world can I eat 200g of protein every day?
Hi! I recommend having 1g of protein for every lb in your body weight if you are under 170 lbs. But shoot for your goal body weight in grams if you're over 170 lbs.

Look at hormone therapy that treats the underlying cause, reducing estrogen. HT has lots of benefits (heart, brain, bones) that outweigh the risks (that were overblown based on that early 2000 study from the WHI).
