Nice work there James, and great tips too. Even though I'm not building this kit, I followed your tips because they might come handy in other kits too. Well done 👍🏼
Thanks Peter, just a little more sanding and filling and it’ll be ready for basecoat. I get back to it when I get back from Japan. I appreciate your support bud👍
nice changes thanks for the tip on how you fixed the problem you had , going to Japan you know they have killer hobby shops and way better prices there on there kit's just got to get them home. Can't wait to see what you bring back enjoyed and have a great time there👍😁
James, I appreciate the in-depth view on the fitment issues along with what modifications you did to the kit. This is something I do not see on other channels and think this is a good thing for you to keep doing on future videos around building kits. Have fun in the suburbs of Tokyo!
Thanks Brandon. This is an intensive one for sure… certainly not like a Tamiya kit. My pleasure sharing my friend. Take care, I appreciate your support 👍
Thank you for sharing the solution to this problem James. Makes it a lot easier for the rest of us. Enjoy your trip to Japan buddy 😃 I love the stance by the way 🙂
Love the attention to detail! I've never seen people make cuts in the door handles and stuff. As a newbie, your videos are really helpful. I just discovered your channel today, and I love the variety of different cars from different brands, keep up the awesome content!
@@ScaleModelExperiment Thanks for the reply! To be honest I'd watch anything you put out but your tips and tricks videos in particular have been great. I'm actually watching your video on decals and I WISH I had seen it before I messed up some poor decals 🤣. Will definitely be referring to your video when building my next model (3rd time's the charm!).
Awesome! If you have any questions feel free to ask. I never know how much detail to go into when I’m making video. Too much is boring, too little is frustrating to newer folks.
Wow James! Thank you for the extra tips on the RR model making it better as I've said before, I have this model yet to be built. The tips would be very helpful to me. Take care and have fun visiting Japan! Take some videos of the Tamiya hobby shop for us viewers???
James thanks for showing us all these tips man! It really does help a lot! I hope you do more of these? How did you get those door handles like that? And all of the cutting you did WILL make a BIG difference!
Thanks Jeff for watching. I’ve received lots of positive feedback from this video series. I will do more like this. For the door handles, I drilled tiny holes in the center and then connected the dots with a hobby knife then smoothed it all out with sandpaper.
Hi Dwight, thanks for watching. Yes, unless it’s a Tamiya model I test fit my models to make sure everything fits the way I want. I hate modifying painted parts.
I restart modeling since the covid after 20 years. I'm surprise to see many kit with this problem. Most of revell and Amt kit are old. Only reboxing or new decals over the years. This one originaly from 2000 and have reboxing recently. To solve a problem llike this we need to heat the frame or use krazy Glue. Im not sure revell with do something in the next few years to solve this problem. My opinion
Hi Jay, thanks for watching and welcome back to the hobby. Yes this kit is an old one but wait till you see how it finishes! I’ll be done with it soon but cannot show it until 3/15.
Hi Jesse, thanks for watching. I suggest that you mock up the interior and put it into place. Mark where the window is on the door panel and duplicate what I did in the video. You’ll see immediately what I mean.
Hi Jeff, I prefer to use Elmers school white glue. You have to be patient but it holds everything together well enough for test fitting. Disassembly is easy and little cleanup is needed afterwards. Try it out sometime!
Have a safe & fun trip with your wife James... See ya's when you get back!
Looking great…hope your family has a great trip….and a safe one!
Thanks John, I appreciate you watching and commenting bud!
Nice work there James, and great tips too. Even though I'm not building this kit, I followed your tips because they might come handy in other kits too. Well done 👍🏼
Thanks for watching Karl! Now that I’m back from Japan it’s time to get moving again on that project. Jan 15 will be here before I know it.

Me either Mike! It’s a challenge to see what I can do with it but still be box stock. Thanks for watching brother😎

Great video! What this group build is to me, how everyone handles the "issues" they come across.
I couldn’t agree more SoDak! I’m finding it hard to just stop modifying stuff😂. I appreciate the support bud.
@@ScaleModelExperiment Well everything you do or add I can tell makes a difference!

Looking really good James. Safe travels on your Japan trip and if you come across any cute Japanese girls, send the cutest one my way.
Thanks bud, I already have the cutest one for myself. You can have the 2nd 👍 I appreciate the support bud.
Nice discovery. Looking good.
Thanks David! I appreciate your support 👍
James thanks for showing us all these tips man!
It really does help a lot! I hope you do more of these?

Thank you, almost every model I have had these similar fit issues, do you always use a white glue to do test fits? Nice looking car eh?
Hi Dwight, thanks for watching. Yes, unless it’s a Tamiya model I test fit my models to make sure everything fits the way I want. I hate modifying painted parts.
Some cool fixes.
Thanks BG! I appreciate you man!

Thanks Samuel👍 I appreciate your support!
Thx for the tip!! Very helpful!!
You’re very welcome! Thanks for watching 👍
Is there a way to make guide showing what needs to be done
Hi Jesse, thanks for watching. I suggest that you mock up the interior and put it into place. Mark where the window is on the door panel and duplicate what I did in the video. You’ll see immediately what I mean.
Have you ever built the Chrysler turbine car, wow talk about imperfections
Hi Perry, I’ve owned and sold that kit. That’s a lot of work to build that kit nicely 😂
What did u use to hold everything together for mock up?
Hi Jeff, I prefer to use Elmers school white glue. You have to be patient but it holds everything together well enough for test fitting. Disassembly is easy and little cleanup is needed afterwards. Try it out sometime!
When doing a mock up like this before paint do you use glue?
Hi Fabian, yes I use Elmer’s white glue to hold the pieces together for mock-up building. It peels right off when you are ready to paint.
@@ScaleModelExperiment awesome thanks 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Does this kit seem out of scale to you ? Like maybe 1/22 and not 1/24
Hi Robert, thanks for watching👍. Yes it is friggin huge!
@@ScaleModelExperiment it's a nice kit but doesn't look well sitting next to my other kits
Haha, it’ll need a whole shelf of its own when I finish it.
What can I use for tint
Thanks for watching. You can either paint tint with clear smoke paint or Hasegawa sells a tint film you can apply over windows.
👋😎👍
Thanks Junior! I appreciate you watching and commenting👍
