i've been getting into the marathon series again since i've been on a bungie kick. I've had your videos running on my tv while working when i can't play through em. this looks so fun to blaze through
It is. Play it on total carnage you Can collect unlimited ammo the trick is to fucking RUN thru the first few stages and build up some ammo and later on it is straight total carnage haha
Oni is the bungie black sheep and as far as I remember the only good thing about the game was the protagonists design and I think it's loosely connected to Halo since she works for UNSC? Haven't played it since '09 can't recall.
in "eat it, vid boi", first room (the one with the lava moat) on the raised platform to the right are a secret rocket launcher and a flame thrower. are these just there as teasers or can they actually be acquired?
You could skip the last part of the map, after you shoot the 4 circuit if you go back without blow the circuit of lava, you have unlocked a door behind you a few meters that you go down into the lava, and then teleport to the final map (with a lot of lava, so, needs triple health). But GG WP!
You don't have to destroy all 4 of those things in the room at 10:03:18, one of them (I think the first one?) just opens the easter egg and turns off the save/health station in the first room!
What About Bob requires you to kill (almost) all of the Pfhor to complete. You'd think you can just run through the basement and let the lava kill everything down there, but unfortunately there's a bug where monsters whose AI isn't activated won't be damaged by liquids. There's an engine limit on how many monsters are active at a time, so the ones in the rooms you run through will end up being deactivated. You can get softlocked on this level if more than 8 enemies have been deactivated in the flooded areas. Regrettably, this means you pretty much have to go and kill most of them yourself.
@Zach Amador Ah! Gotcha. That makes sense. As a former map maker I should have remembered those quirks and limitations. Thank you so much! Damn, time to play some Marathon again.
TH-cam needs more Marathon speedruns. I wish the Marathon community wasn't so stagnant these days. Glad to see this, good sir.
Damn, Dude!! Well done. This was my favorite game when it came out... amazing seeing it completed with such skill.
Alright Zach, let's see what you can do

Yeees x3
Hey Zach, I really enjoy your videos. Do you still ever do speedruns for old school bungie games anymore?
Oh yea and i had no idea about that first "secret" with the grenades and ammo. Thanks!

They can be acquired by jumping up there with the AR!
Man i thought I was a badass when i beat this game on total carnage. Can run thru it in a few sittings but this is ridiculous. Good work.

OMG I didn't remember "Begging for Mercy" took soo much time
Why do you keep using save stations? I thought saving wasn't allowed in speedruns?
Saving is allowed but it usually wastes time
Just curious, why do you fight through cyborgs and fighters in the basement in What About Bob? Is it not possible to run past them?
