I was wondering who still keeps this farm on this expensive land whenever I pass by.
    I respect this family.

Awesome story. California produces several high-end crops. I visited a rice farm in Northern California where they produce premium rice and ship the bulk of their harvest to Japan where it's used for sushi.

Makoto will probably be the last to farm the property. Props to the older generation of family who purchased the land there!

This is the way all of these small farms should be able to operate...from the farm to the farm store and then to the local customer....and hopefully everyone benefits from this....

I got lost in the contortion of trying to somehow link strawberries and "racism" in the same sentence in a market stand. That whole WWII story has become distorted by political correctness. It was war. It's called war sacrifice and white families also were affected if you study the Hanford power plant and the Manhattan Project, for which their orchard land was taken by force for the war effort using eminent domain. His parents were only RENTING, since aliens could not buy land, just as an American cannot buy a farm in Japan (even today). For the true story in detail, get 50 Common Myths About Japanese-Americans and the Atomic Bomb in WWII: The Non-PC Answers You Will Not Find on Wikipedia. Well worth the deeper study.
