    I just want to say thank you for your videos on how to use Army Painter SpeedPaint. I just finished putting a metallic Sundrop on my Cry Havoc army minis. Your test videos help me navigate using metallic zenithal prime and then SpeedPaint. Greatly appreciate it!

    I've dunked loads of minis in my tub. I just leave the mini whole in the tub and close the lid. Come back an hour later and run it under tap with toothbrush. It doesn't matter if you get the old paint in the tub, my tub is all sorts of colours from all the minis that have been left in there, it doesn't affect how good it works.

      I guessed this would be the case. But it’s fantastic to hear a first hand account. That will speed it up even further and limit touching! Thank you for the bonus advice!!

    I've seen Biostrip used to great success by another TH-camr (MSPaints maybe?) on a range of minis including metals when they were trying to rescue a job lot of second hand space marines - looks like a strong contender for all mini stripping needs.
    The only thing I'd say, is maybe use a washing up bowl or similar for the rinse rather than having water running and spattering all over your sink? Probably not an issue for a couple of minis but for more than 4 it would make a lot mess and waste a lot of water.

      Hahha. Funny you mention this. I actually did a whole bit about that in the video. But decided I sounded a bit preachy and it made the video even longer! Was worried I’d annoy people but you’re spot on. I too would advise this! Thanks for dropping this comment

    I found this in another video a few years back, ordered a tub from Amazon and I've been very pleased with it. I've mostly used it on frostbite victims (i.e. badly varnished minis) but the latest one was due to misuse of contrast paint. I just dunk them and then leave them to drip on a plastic lid. A lot of the stuff runs off but I pick that up with the toothbrush to put some extra on hard to reach places. I do find that it has a faint smell but nothing unpleasant or headache inducing.

    Nice video. I did my first strip last night. 12 hr with super clean. But I used an electric toothbrush and it was a gem. Didn't get everything but almost. And super quick. Minus the 12 hour soak.

    Looks good to me! I've been using Simple Green to high success, then got a sonic cleaner to bump it up higher. (Wife has super high sense of smell, so I don't tend to use anything else in the house.) I'll keep this in mind for later, if I need to do stuff on the road.

    • @Mistafatbob
      @Mistafatbob 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do the exact same (we call Simple Green "Glanzer" here, only difference), the sonic cleaner finishes the job perfectly for me, I even use Simple Green in it sometimes instead of water.

    I use dettol in a small tub and leave them for a few days, or a year if you forget you have some Zombicide minis still in there! 😬. But, the stuff really stinks and its a pain to remove the gunk off the mini after as you can't use water to wash it off. I'll definitely be getting a tub of this stuff in the vid for sure for my next mini stripping time.

    Best paint stripper i ever tried are the ak interactiv one, that takes of anything in a few minutes and dont damage the plastic. I tried a bunch of them and the ak interactiv one is the best, it took of varnish, 3 heavy layers of colorshift metalics and the primer last time i used it, its not much smell from it either. And you just rub the piece with a toothbrush and the stripper and even if you got to do it 2 times to get it all it still takes less than 10min even with a full scale model car kit in 1/24 scale, like the last thing i stripped

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know! I’ll pick some up and try one day. Loving this one at the moment, not that I strip often but I think it being quick and smell free is what I care about most atm
