  • Hi, Flower Friends! Join me during my nightly ritual of harvesting! It's that time of year where I am harvesting twice a day. Today we have the last of my snapdragons, the first of my dianthus and some lilies! The cooler is overflowing with some goodies. The delivery to the florist can't come soon enough! #snapdragons #flowerfarm #flowerfarmer #lilyseason #lilies #flowerhillfarm #dianthus

Nicole, here is a tip that might help you in a pinch with the droopy dill if you need it in a hurry. After harvest, place the stems in a plastic container with boiling water. Let the water cool. The flowers should hydrate during that time. I've been using this trick (not with dill though) and it has worked with everything so far. I got it from Lori at Three Acre Farm. She owns a U Pick flower farm in Michigan, if memory serves. Great video! I love watching your journey unfold. I'm still feeling less confident in the success of my venture, but I love how you just go for it!

I've mostly avoided those types of flowers till now. Last year I bought a small dahlia, planted it in a hanging basket and when it was time, just brought the whole basket into the garage for the winter. I want to buy more dahlias, but don't feel confident that I'll do the overwintering thing properly. I feel like I must be missing some crucial info.
