Dude, your ratio of subscribers to views and likes is insane. U killing it. Many running channels will have 10 to 1 ratio. You got 12k subs and almost that many views for each video (1 to 1 ratio). Don't change a thing
Thank you for your insights. +1 sub. Since you asked for other Marathon comparisons next video, you can have a look at the super trainers. They are usually cheaper than super shoes, but also very good for long runs and also often higher cushion. So maybe Superblast 2 vs. Neo Vista vs. Endorphin Speed 4 vs. Boston 12? Great video as always :)
I’ve been following but only subscribed yesterday. Very impressed with your tenacity and energy. Stay well and healthy to ensure sustainability of the channel. Good luck!
I noticed that Conner Mantz won this year's Bolder Boulder 10K in his Olympic marathon build. Stephen Scullion had a recent video about the importance of VO2 Max work to raise the ceiling that you can build threshold beneath. So it seems that we have to work the whole system, even 5K pace and faster, for optimal marathon performance.
This video was refreshing for me, cause I’m currently training for a HM PR in July in the most boring, uncoolest, unplated shoe rotation of all time (Peg 37, Puma Velocity Nitro 2 and a 170g racing flat made in Brazil by Fila). However, I’m making major progress and the whole block is getting me super happy anyhow, so I feel that I didn’t let the tech/consumerism hype overshadow my running experience. For race day I’m going to wear a fresh pair of Vaporfly 2s and I’m expecting them to bounce like crazy after so many miles on regular shoes. Thanks again and happy running!
Amazing! I went non plated all last summer and then raced my half marathon in vaporflys. I'd only worn them for one workout before the race just to them out and it was so nice getting that boost on race day
@@supwell Yet, it's my birthday soon and I'm going to get a new pair for long runs (no plates). I know Novablast 4 is the most obvious choice for its comfort and cushion, but I've always preferred lower shoes, so I jus't can't make up my mind between the NB and the Vomero 17. I found a deal on the Invicinble Run 3 too, but it's too bulky, I think it may be just too much for a 74kg runner running 30 miles a week. What do you think? Would you go for the NB? Thanks a lot!
My training/racing journey got it's biggest boost from the 20mi to 24mi long runs..I don't think it matters that much about pace..if you can run the distance without feeling like you're gonna die, then you can work on your pace..as I worked up from 5k to 10k to 1/2 to marathon over many years, each time I got comfortable with the distance my pace increased and my recovery also gets much easier and I usually go out for a nice conversational pace run the day after a race..the challenge is to find the shoes that work for the distance that allow me to race and recover and always enjoy the process..if it's not enjoyable you will find a 100 reasons why you really don't want to go for a run..pretty sure you get more progress from any run than you get from watching the idiot box..nice discussion..😊
I couldn’t tell you why… but this was probably one of my favorite and informative videos from you. I got to a point in my training very close to where you’re at. But currently I’ve slowed down to try and focus a bit more on the gym and physical strength. Id love to find close to the perfect balance between running and the gym. Keep it going brother!
Thanks man! What's your gym routine look like? Last summer I was working lower body compound movements with some fun HIIT sessions thrown in but just don't make the time right now
@@supwell Very nice! Gotta make time for weight training as well as cardio. Important to have some good core strength among other things for running. But it’s definitely hard to balance the 2. Especially when you get busy with work. At the time, I had a specific routine. At the gym I would do full body, with focus on different muscle groups more than others on different days if that makes sense. And I would do my stretching/yoga early in the morning before a morning run. Right now my gym is super crowded so I get in whatever I’m able to workout wise while I’m there lol
For a moment, I was expecting Captain America to run past and say, "on your left". Anyway, I appreciate the heck out of this video. The comment about the Sky Paris not being at all stable is exactly what I felt when I literally just stood up in the prior version at my LRSS, so I'm glad to know it's not just me.
Regarding racing in non race shoes, I ran a 3:43 in Superblast last fall. I checked the shoes of people Strava said I ran with: 3 carbon plated racers, 2 Speed 3s, 2 cushioned trainers, 2 lightweight trainers. Shoes matter, training matters a lot more.
100p. I should've mentioned this but the guy who the marathon I raced in the sky Paris was wearing an old pair of endorphin pro 2s. Chatted with him after the race and exchanged info and turns out he also puts in consistent 100+ mile weeks. There were a bunch of other top 10 finishers wearing older endorphins as well
Lowell!!! Bay state Marathon, fast and flat course. I thought about running this one in October because they have 2:50 pacers but opted for the Cape Cod marathon instead.
Every runner is an experiment of one, as Dr. George Sheehan famously said. Even with Lydiard and Cerutty, what they did worked great for the runners it worked great for and we don't hear about the others. So yeah, try stuff and see. I admire your commitment to your experiments. Also your comments about recovery times from your marathons were helpful. I'd wondered about that.
Great video! Very informative. Quick question, I’m currently running Marathons around the 3hr mark and I’m looking for a 2:55 in Chicago in Oct. Which shoe would you pick if you were me, the choice is, Diadora Gara or Cielo X1 - I’m a mid to forefoot striker. Thanks in advance!
I agree with the advice of doing the long run in the shoe you're going to race in. I thought the Superblast would be my ideal half marathon shoe but it ended up fatiguing my legs more than the Nimbus because it was fighting me. That 860 is giving me More v3 vibes. It was a really comfortable shoe that subtly did everything well.
I like your content very much and the effort and miles you putting in is simply stunning. Are you feeling alright? I mean 4 marathons in 4 months, is it not a little bit over the top, like the fatique building up. Was your last one as enjoyable in comparison to the first? Hope you don't overdo it and stay healthy. ✌️
Thanks! I frequently do 3 hour long runs so going the marathon distance isn't that much more stress on the body. I went 23 miles again yesterday and felt great. I mostly run these at a 7 to 8 minute pace so it only ever takes about 3 hours. If I were running a 10 minute pace it would be a lot more stress on the body to do frequent marathons as it would take longer

A few minutes ago I purchased because of your review of it a new pair of Nike Invincible 3‘s for like 115 bucks 👌 I‘m so curious how the shoe will perform 🙌😍
I still suspect you'd have liked the Metaspeed (Sky or Edge probably) if you had an 11. Maybe not stable enough for the full marathon for you (or me!) but the size always gets mentioned when you refer to that particular race.
Or how does it compare to Endo Pro 3, which is supposedly feels faster than the 4. Don't hear much about the Gara compared against it's competitors like Rocket X 2, Metaspeeds, etc.
Gara definitely has a faster feeling toe off for me! And every time I've used it I've run a lot faster than I'd planned. But for $75 difference I'd take the pro 4 - much better value and durability is better
You ran 4 marathons in 4 different shoes all at this particular day of the video? 😄 After buying the Adidas shoe for like 500 bucks I think nothing is impossible what can happen on this channel 😆🙌💪 I would really love that kind of mindset 😁👍
I did a side by side (only 1/4 mile) with epic react 2 and rebel v3, and the rebel is superior in every way, not surprising with 4 years to improve. Nike put out a great shoe 6 years ago but just abandoned that market segment. I don’t get it.
Great content. If I am aiming to run marathon around 3:30 to 4 hours, which racing shoes would you suggest pls, preferably cushioned, soft that legs won’t feel that beat up.
Endorphin Pro 4 or Adios Pro 3 are the best ones for it in my opinion.. I ran the Berlin marathon last year in Endorphin Pro 3 in 3:54 and then in Hamburg this year I ran in 3:46 with Adios Pro 3... (I personally liked the Adios Pro 3 better, but both are great)
