    Wow. This seems to be an amazing product. I bought a generic "Dual channel" wireless microphone from Amazon and turns out it just merges the audio from both the transmitters into one channel. That sucked because I wanted complete control over each transmitter's volume and stuff.

    Hello buddy. thanks for the video info, good stuff. Just a note, you can see when the the noise cancellation feature is on by the orange light on the front of the TX. But as you probably found, I can't tell how much gain I've added or reduced. Thanks

    Hello, thank you for the review, I've seen a lot of reviews on this mic, but nobody mentions how it records 3 people simultaneously, as there are only 2 channel in audio track, so do two mics goes to one channel, and the third one goes to the second channel and tracks becomes some sort of a stereo, or does in case of all 3 mic recording tracks become mono automatically. This is unique feature of this mic, and no one here to clarify including Godox. I will appreciate any info about it, as this feature is so important for me to consider buying this mic

    • @NicholasJamesJohnson
      @NicholasJamesJohnson  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kushekpayev one mic is left channel, one mic is right channel, and the third mic built into the transmitter goes into both channels. Useful if your levels are consistent, but there’s a good chance for messing things up with that third mic! Still an interesting add on

    • @kushekpayev
      @kushekpayev 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@NicholasJamesJohnson Thank you for clarifying it for me, yes...not ideal solution from godox, but I believe they the only ones who at least presented such 3 mic system, so we can't complain. We doing podcast like run and gun interviews, where both people in front the camera and I'm behind the camera sometimes participating, I usually just have to also mic myself up. So I guess I'll might try this one, the only real downside for me is - I also have to be dead quite and can't make much noise. It will be much better if the third(transmitter) mic goes into one of the two channels, so at least we'll be having isolated channel only for our guest

    How do you feel about these microphones three weeks later?

    • @NicholasJamesJohnson
      @NicholasJamesJohnson  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I really like them a lot MOST of the time.
      So if you’re kind of far from the camera and then you turn around, your body will block the signal.
      That’s a pretty abnormal thing for ME to do, but if you are maybe a CrossFit athlete and filming workouts where you cover a lot of ground and end up facing the other way you would be better off with the Rode ones.
      But if you’re usually less than 20 feet away from your mic or always facing your mic, they’re REALLY good and I love the charging case. The fact that they’re always charged and ready is so clutch

    Ive listened to a couple of videos where they havent sounded that good, but here they sound just fine. I like how small and easy they seem to be to use. I have to do very quick interviews at events, so I don't even have time to put on lab mics as it kind of kills the moment. Did you do any post production on the sound.

    • @NicholasJamesJohnson
      @NicholasJamesJohnson  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I did do a little post production on the sound. Just an EQ layer that I set up once and have saved as a preset. Up on the bass a tiny bit, down on the mids a tiny bit, up on the treble and then down on frequencies outside human voices.
      They’re PERFECT for quick interviews like at a conference or something like. I’ll be bringing these to CES in January for sure

    Hi! Great video! I just bought this kit, and tried it on my phone, and on my computer. On the phone was a little bit strange that my girlfriend voice was louder and clear than mine, we switched the transmitters and it was the same. After that on my computer I connected the receiver to USB and tested them on audacity and OBS. The sound was very low, with gain option at +6dB, I could barley hear myself talking. It s a problem with my kit? Should I give them back? I added post production gain +25dB and it was ok, but after amplifying the sound background noise was to loud. Another detail is that on my phone I used it with the jack cable provided, and on my computer with the usb-c to usb-a provided cable.
    I haven't tested them yet with a camera.

    • @NicholasJamesJohnson
      @NicholasJamesJohnson  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hmmmm, first - how close to your mouth are you clipping the microphones? I would say sound quality with basically ALL microphones is directly proportional to how close they are to your mouth. Second, Ive basically ONLY used it with my camera, other than the one little clip on this video where I connected it to my phone. But since everything worked pretty perfectly on my camera, I never had the pleasure of troubleshooting it being really quiet. I also sort of yell-talk. I DO remember that the sound came out of my phone recording sounding really different, although still sounding good so it clearly handles different interfaces really differently. If your girlfriend's voice is much louder than yours in all cases, it might just be that youre speaking too quietly. I know that sounds just plain silly, but maybe you clipped it down too far on your shirt?

      @@NicholasJamesJohnson I work as a radio show host, and been doing interviews for 3-4 years. The problem is that I haven't learned too much about tehnical stuff because I always had someone who knew how to handle the equipment.
      When i talk directly to the transmitter it is ok, but the point in using this kind of microphone is to have it clipped.
      The distance is normal, i put it like you wear on the video, but it feels that I'm taliking from behind the microphone.
      Unfortunately I don't have an equivalent pair of microphones to test it out. Just that if I want to use them with a computer for webinars, live brodcasts, etc. I have to add a gain filter betwen 20-25dB.
      I will do some tests today also. But my first tests shows me that their sound is a little bit lower than I expected. I watched all the videos I had found on TH-cam to see if the sound is ok, and all the videos sound is great, but my kit sound feels that is not simillar with the videos I watched. That's why I asked because I wanted to be sure if there is something particular with my kit, or it's something that I need to do in post.
      Thanks for your answer.

    hello friend! I bought a godox wec kit2 when connected to a phone, everything is written perfectly, but when connected to a camera with a separate wire, the blue color writes mono, and when the stereo is green, that is, vice versa, and there is a terrible overload, why I don’t understand, with the phone everything is perfect, please tell me how Did you connect it to the camera and what settings did you set?

    • @NicholasJamesJohnson
      @NicholasJamesJohnson  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are two different cords to go from the receiver to your camera. One is TRS and one is TRRS. You need to use the TRS cable to go to a camera, I THINK you’re using the TRRS one. Just google “TRS vs TRRS” and look up images to see the difference.

      @@ivans_show the Wec Kit2 receiver has a button for its own ‘intelligent noise canceling’ and I always turn that off I don’t trust those sorts of things very well… I also don’t ever use auto levels on my camera.
