- Many dream of making it onto the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. But should they? In Good Work’s latest Case Study, the Investigative News Team lays bare the controversial world of Forbes 30 Under 30.
Thanks to the following folks for their assistance with this vital investigation: Jake Karls, an entrepreneur who has made the list; Chris Bakke, an entrepreneur who (sadly) didn’t make the list; and Jody Fisher, a New York-based public relations expert; and Sarah Ross, a licensed medical professional and comedian.

Is Forbes 30 Under 30 a scam? - ตลก
I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the most inspirational video I've seen this year
Truly good work
I'm more inspired that the Forbes used to be drug dealers, and now they have a news agency where they can manipulate anyone.
Opium rhymes with Copium
😂😂
Many people are asking me why my bookshelves are empty. I had to embarrassingly spend 27 minutes of my 30 minute interview with Dan moving stacks of my Forbes magazines off the shelves and out of camera view for this interview. Anyway, thanks for having me on.
Chris, you're always welcome with or without books. Thanks for joining!!
It would have been hilarious to see it all stacked with Forbes magazines.
😂😂
Is this a real Chris from Twitter?
Can i have a job?
This is getting dangerously close to journalism. If you keep this up, the Last Week Tonight folks will send you a cease and desist.
Or a job offer 🤷

Journalism? LOL. So many jealous videos being made about Forbes 30 under 30... Everything you are saying is so far from the truth. And I know for a FACT that you can NOT "buy your way into it". Any another inaccuracy you failed to mention in your video: Elizabeth Holmes was NEVER on the Forbes 30 under 30 list. Finally, from the thousands of people under the Forbes 30 under 30 list over the years, only tiny fraction of them (like less than 10 people in total) were involved in some kind of financial crime, but they were all in the FINANCE CATEGORY. There are so many other categories in this list where everyone truly deserves to be on it. Also, if you look at anything like a college or school, from the thousands of alumni, there are always a handful of people who ended up doing something bad, but it is it fair to say then that ALL of the alumni from that school or college are 'scammers'? Stop making badly researched generalizations about this list and spreading lies!

I love the fact that we as a society are finally starting to "show truths", but it's not enough.
The story I heard was at the Twitch office, they contacted by Forbes that they were on the list. They asked around the office who wanted it, and some random dude took it. Not merit based at all, just randomly chosen from hyped up companies.
This is becoming one of my favorite channels, I love the style of humor, keep it up!
Thank you Delaf52
When I was younger I thought it was the real deal, but once I actually read it I saw that they don't try to hide the blatant nepotism. "Stepped down to prioritize their role as a shareholder" is something I've seen more than once.
You don't need high production value when you have great journalism and scripting like this. Don't change a thing! Great work.
No, Sir, this is Good work.
Best part of the video is the ending sketch during the credits. It's okay to not be successful at 30, in fact, if you are successful before thirty, chances are you cut some corners somewhere to get there.
I thought you coughed up your liver once you turn 30
That post credits scene was the best bit of the whole video. Why'd you not include it 😂
He... pretty much did?
The nurse was lying, when you turn 30 you literally die
Oh I absolutely love this, we don't need to be pressurised to be on any lists in our 20s. We are enough

As someone who works under an incompetent executive in the 30

My dad is a super straight-laced guy and we don’t share the same sense of humor for the most part, but I send him all your videos and he likes them lol

I was on the list. I didn't even apply, but a journalist I was in contact with as a source for other things offered to nominate me. I got on on the strength of that. I never had to pay anything, but in order to attend the "summit" they had for the hundreds of others who made the list that year, I think there was a registration fee. I had scarcely even heard of it before I got on it and I just assumed my reporter friend was trying to be nice to me.
"has invisible books"
I died laughing
Fun fact: I nannied a baby from 3 months to 9 months then he showed up 20 yrs later on the list. I take all the credit bc I read to him and played Tracie Chapman everyday

Man I felt that one with the end skit. As someone who turned 30 this year I was equally like "people say I start breaking down now when does that kick in?"
35 lol
As someone who was recently awarded "Top 37 year old by 37 different, INDEPENDENTLY OWNED AND OPERATED, beef jerky companies" (most notably, Slim Jim) I can confirm that the whole process felt (much like the jerky tasted) less than savory.
😂😂 nice
I’m on that list. Was nominated by an old colleague. I will say that one of the positives was that generated donations for the charity I worked for at the time. Went to one of the summits though and it did seem like a marketing ploy rather than anything useful for those attending.
Hopefully I’m not on a fast track to prison!

That 85% of donations go to cover "administrative fees" certainly isn't as red flag.

This video is so well-crafted, the jokes perfectly timed. Excellent reporting!

Thank you for including Ben Simmons. He should never be able to get away with his fraudulence.
Thanks for the video! I was wondering though, you spoke mainly about the business and entertainment side of the 30 under 30 list, which is maybe the category that would see the biggest amount of scammers and payers. Do the same issues happen on the humanitarian or education side of the list?
This video somehow made me feel lighter. Your humour is always on point, thanks Dan ❤
I was ‘recommended’ this video and after a few mins I knew this was an insta subscribe. The algorithm is working!
This is the best channel on TH-cam. I died when I read “has invisible books” then next frame “also reads” 😂😂
There’s definitely an ego factor that pressured or drive some of those top 30 under 30 winners into criminal activities because they cannot accept failure. The list is a danger to have as it not only strive you to be the best at a very young age, but also limited their ability to experience failure and learn from it. Most of the people in the top 100 riches list are all over 50, even 60-90 years old for a reason.
Yea probably only one in a billion people actually succeed in business in their 20s, e,g., Jobs, Gates, Dell, Zuck, and it’s not without extreme luck and unfair resources around them. To expect anyone to achieve those standards in their 20s is beyond unrealistic.
Or the other way around. They conned their way to the list to make themselves look credible and take more money.
I have a digital marketing agency and it's really sad that most people don't realize that 99% of everything you see on the internet is for profit. Blogs, newsletters, pretty much everything has a for profit agenda
When you work in marketing, you realize everything can be bought and paid for 😂
Thats because capitalism drives that, and moet people are dumb as bricks.
Just found this channel and love it. It’s like a spoof Johnny Harris, but with solid reporting and narrative. Great stuff.
But what about the only good member of the 30 under 30 list, Griffin McElroy.
I love this channel - very funny and makes me feel a lot less out of step with the world
A surprisingly uplifting ending - I do think social media and the internet puts a lot of pressure on young people to succeed, be celebrated and get rich. Sometimes just having a good time, being a good person and having a good life is more than enough
Spot on 💯. More young people need to hear this type of message. I'm glad I learned this early on in my 20s. Young 20 somethings will get older and look back and realize THAT (what you said) is more important than looking for validation
Instant sub. Had me cracking up, high production value, and an interesting topic! SICK!
