He amps himself up in front of the camera to go ballistic because that's what the directors and media company says gets views. BUT as an entertainer he has power to bring viewers attention to stocks - I know "smaller" companies have gotten media boosts from him bringing them up on his show. The thing is, there are "stock gurus" that can make sensible choices that will reliably grow your money. Like, the guys who run managed investment portfolios. They don't have soundboards or anything, but if they make bad picks and lose a ton of money all the time, they get fired.

I don't mind many of CNBC's articles (vs. the videos with BAD commercials), and don't mind CNBC having an ad or two on the screen (which I ignore). But if they try to charge me or annoy me much, I'll just ignore their site completely. They need customers more than market watchers need their for-pay BS.

Trading on a demo account can definitely feel similar to the real market, but there are some differences.
