After running a few numbers I’m pretty sure that the original mimic horn drill strategy was the best option, for all the reasons that Scott articulated. It has the most upside, and the likelihood of landing a horn drill before hypnosis hits is actually quite decent, Scott was just getting really unlucky in that first playthrough
I feel like Red and Blue are a lot like the gen2 games up to the Elite 4: good Pokemon won't really struggle or need extra training against anything really, and if something gets walled even once that means it has a serious flaw like Mankey's fragility.
Dangit, i missed another one. Why you always stream when I'm playing magic with friends? 😂. Looks like i know what I'm doing for the next 3 hours or so.
WHAT!? Gen 3 was your least favorite? Blasphemy! Gen 3 is peak Pokémon. Abilities, weather, apocalyptic storyline? Aaaand we got the unit that is Slaking. Cmon.
Gen 3 was mid. Most abilities were mediocre, new Pokémon designs were ass(except Flygon and Metagross🔥). Apocalyptic story was dumb too. Evil teams goals didn’t make sense, plus a ten year old kid saving the world while all the adults stand back and watch was dumb. A ten year old Pokémon trainer who happens to be a prodigy, overtaking the regional champ is somewhat believable at least. Same applies for beating team rocket in gens 1&2.
It might be too soon since I didn’t finish the video, but isn’t it worth to mimic Wing Attack, Badge Boost against Rydhon then 1-shot exxegutor? Also, rest in this case to survive Rydhon for longer would be best?

Mankey: hey, this solo is actually going pretty well
Exeggutor: allow me to introduce myself
The shocking return of Charblizzard.

Run Begins: 2:49
If Karate Chop would be a fighting move instead of a normal move, then I will belive it would be a sub hr time maybe 55min
The highlight videos are awesome IMO. Maybe you could post it as “the Charizard run”and not put that it’s a summary in the title?
1:05:06 it looks like your outsped/outspeeds modifier isn't changing when Dragonair/Dragonite use Agility and outspeed you.
I really want to see that Charizard with blizzard playthrough. The big tree being a menace.
I don’t think I could be any less interested in hearing more about JRose lol
Do you Scott.
poor mankey had his life together for a while but then got into gotcha
Not gonna watch everything you make? Good one Scott!
tri-attack has no secondary effect at all in gen 1

Wing attack doesn’t have nearly enough damage, even with badge boosts
Mankey and Primeape really *do* struggle a bit against Bruno. That fight felt pretty lucky.
Stream highlights to another channel is a fantastic idea. I see a new post and it’s just the highlights, big sad :(
Dang, those colors look nice.
Neat run I loved it
All hail noodle monster back sprite!
Scott, is the channel funded by Cheesy Fiesta potatoes?
jhoto/ gen 2 is my least favourite games to play but i still enjoy the theorycrafting of solo challenges
The stream highlights can do well on a separate channel even with say only a 1000 views as long as they watch all the way through.
