He did an amazing job on the Mistborn series. It's great to unleash my imagination to paint the scenes which support Kramer's narration. Now I'm on Way of Kings, still good.
In my opinion, the Stormlight Archives are even better than the Mistborn series. Maybe just because I was exposed to Way of Kings first. I hope you enjoyed them as much as I do!
Mr. Kramer has been my favorite narrator since 1996!! He is the absolute cream of the crop when it comes to storytelling. I wish I could thank him in person.
I love this man!! His voice is the best, most soothing I've come across in audiobooks and I came to love Brandon Sanderson's novels even more because of him!
This interview is a gem, I had no idea that Kate Reading as she is known in her professional mode was his wife, they are both fantastic narrators of audio content. Brandon Sanderson is so lucky to have found them, I of course loved the Mistborn series (both Era 1 and Era 2), in fact I am overjoyed by the Wax and Wayne books and the wonderful female characters in that series that Michael is unaccountably brilliant at bringing to life. I truly hope this collaboration continues for the entire Mistborn and Stormlight series and beyond into all other projects. Some of the previous narrators Sanderson used for earlier works were hit and miss, but only in the sense that they took getting used to ... Michael Kramer and Kate Reading just feel natural from the get go. For example, James Yaegashi was so-so for Warbreaker but it didn't put me off the title in the end because he was just playful enough to be good, Jack Garrett was actually pleasing in Elantris once I got used to his voice and cadence... but nothing compares to Michael and Kate, they rule.
Michael Kramer is the reason I fell in love with Donald E. Westlakes crime novels. He narrated the entire Parker series (Donald E. Westlake writing as Richard Stark) and it is my favorite series in the entire universe. I listen to all 20+ books at least once every 18 months. I fall asleep listening to audiobooks and his voice is sooo smooth and soothing. It's like candy to my eardrums. Some narrators only READ the words; Michael Kramer ACTS out the book and gives each character a unique voice. Even his "female" voices are wonderful to listen to. He is THE BEST in the business, no one even comes close to his vocal abilities.
Love Michael and Kate. They are my all time favorite readers. They bring the written pages to life. I've listened to WoT in my car over and over for several years. Thank you both for bringing your gifts to us and making it so much more. Now on Mistborn audio and loving it. When I get in my car every day, there they are.
Lopen is the best voice he does! Started with stormlight archive, then listened to the 2nd 2 mistborn books. Was OVER THE MOON when I found out that Michael Kramer was the narrator of the Wheel of Time books.
Its surreal to see the man that has helped create such amazing fantasy in my mind. Hours of my life has been narrated by him. Thank you so much for everything you do!
Love his work! He and his wife are an epic team. To be able to work together with your wife on such amazing works must be such a special gift. I can never get enough of this! lol.
Sounds like Michael would talk to you for hours if you let him. The interviewer has to keep reigning him back in. You can tell she has a list of questions and Michael would happily take 30 minute to answer each if she let him.
man i read the first 5 books of the Wheel of Time a decade ago. I am restarting with Micheals audiobooks and it makes everything easier and his inflections and tones feel spot on.
It's amazing to hear his normal speaking voice. It's just so different from his narration voice, even when he's not doing a character voice. Such talent!! Love Kate Reading too!!!
This man absolutely nailed Chris Voss' "Never Split the Difference". He delivered it perfectly and I'm checking out other audio books he's narrated. It's really cool that he's done a lot of fiction and fantasy!
@@moniespresso he is in my top 6 narrators along with R.C Bray, Macloed Andrews, Tim Gerard Reynolds, Johnny Heller, and Ray Porter. They all are in the S tier of narrators.
Unlike actors who maybe can lie and say they have read the book and will sometimes not even be able to answer basic questions about the book they are adapting, audiobook narrarators know the book back to front and will usually be able to tell you exactly what's its about which is refreshing.
This man's voice is like a hot knife cutting through butter. He would make the phone book sound exciting.
Agreed!
I read this in his voice and it didn’t disappoint
He's a great narrator

"over 1,000 characters" - Wheel of Time had 2782 characters.

How many were male characters? So MK, only has to worry about half, and his wife the other.
To be fair, Kate Reading does the female half of a lot of the same books and the characters don't always cross over.
My favourite voice of all time!!!
Mr. Kramer has been my favorite narrator since 1996!! He is the absolute cream of the crop when it comes to storytelling. I wish I could thank him in person.
He is so brilliant. WOT audios are better than watching a movie.
I've listened to countless hours of this man's voice, and I wouldn't even recognize him if I only heard his normal speaking voice.
It also has a lot to do with the microphone. His voice would likely sound deeper if you spoke to him in real life.
I love this man!! His voice is the best, most soothing I've come across in audiobooks and I came to love Brandon Sanderson's novels even more because of him!
I've listened to Michael and Kate's voice for hundreds and hundreds of hours. They are simply the best

He is my favourite Narrator. I listened to him in the wheel of time and now in the Mistborn series.
His narration is magnificent. He's such a great performer.
I'm listening to this guy now, he's amazing !
6:07 So Loial's voice from the Wheel of Time is also His favorite voice!

love that he did Loial right here on video haha. That made me way more happy than it should have.
I really do feel like I know them after listening to The Wheel of Time start to finish multiple times!
Now that's serious committment! Kudos!
Without contest, my favorite audiobook narrator of all time.

I’ve got hundreds of hours listening to Kramer and his wife. I have gotten that feeling like they are close to me as well.
One of the all time greats! Love this guy
I love Michael Kramer and Kate Reading- they did super well on Wheel of Time!

Just you wait until you hear Wayne from Mistborn era 2 ;)
I love the way he did Loial and Lan in WoT, really brings the characters to life

Narrarating Wayne from Mistborn is the ultimate test of skills on your accent and voice control skills lol
His voice is like the sandpaper that smooths out a wooden sculped work of art
So glad that he's narrating m'boi Shadiversity's novel, clearly this established legend recognizes an up & coming legend. My deep & true respect.
I finished six Mistborn books before moving to the Stormlight Archive. Love this guy!
man i read the first 5 books of the Wheel of Time a decade ago. I am restarting with Micheals audiobooks and it makes everything easier and his inflections and tones feel spot on.
Oh Danny Boy how is your progress on those? Still enjoying it?
This guy is awesome in all of his works.

Awesome narrator. Respect.
Michael Kramer is such a good narrator.
Absolute legend, I am now hooked to adoobooks
Best narrator ever.
Kate Reading and her husband are my all time favorite narrators. I love that Brandon Sanderson picked them up for his books!
best narrator!
Just finished book 6 of WoT on my first read through, and I want Michael (and his wife) to narrate every book. Their voices are perfect.
This man absolutely nailed Chris Voss' "Never Split the Difference". He delivered it perfectly and I'm checking out other audio books he's narrated. It's really cool that he's done a lot of fiction and fantasy!
I love him and Kate as narrators
Wtf !?!? Kate is his wife!!!
I pick new audio books based on him
You get spoiled after listening to a book that he narrates. You have to learn to cope with lesser artists to listen to some books.

Loyals voice was the best for sure
holy shit they are married!
if he is reading it I am listening to it.
48 hours wow. Oathbringer and Rhythm of War hold my beer.
He is such a talented human being. I am going to read WOT just because he is narrating them lol
It´s great that he is a fan of the books to. I would like to have his job.
He's my favorite, wish he'd work with (and elevate) GraphicAudio.
His voice on rock Idk how to spell it cuz I listen to audio book is so perfect!
Michael Kramer was a looker

1/3 the way through the way of kings for the 5th time ha
"Simply NO"
I couldn't listen to Wheel of Time because of him - I felt he was too fond of his own voice. It may be he was "too american" for me.
