@@ItsViolaRose This isn’t my pattern. If the designer pulled the pattern, then that was done at their discretion. You could contact the designer and ask if she still sells the pattern or has other patterns you are looking for. I do state in my tutorial that I am not the designer and I also link to where you can purchase the pattern. Thank you.
This is so cute. I just bought the pattern. Thanks for the tutorial. I was just surprised that the ears weren’t sewn right sides together and turned out.
Great tutorial!! I have her pattern already. The gusset and feet pads were stressing me out but now I feel a bit better to tackle this sweet lil elephant 😊
I’ve just made this toy & although your video was helpful I would like to provide some feedback. I felt it was light on some important details eg. where to precisely sew the tail on (I ended up having to move mine as it was too low. Although to be fair the written pattern also lacked this detail). How to precisely sew-in the pointed gusset ends A & B (I had to undo front & back body seams to make room for these pointed ends as despite my accurate cutting out, they just simply wouldn’t fit), the best way to sew in the foot pads, & visuals on how to properly fill in the wadding. I can see that after having made several of these elephants, (one after the other) you’d obviously become quite confident & therefore may have thought these details not necessary. But to me who has only made one, & my 1st fabric toy ever, important details such as these would have helped a great deal.
Years ago when I made stuffed bears with feet like this, I would sew around the the raw edge of the leg, just short of the seam line, then clip it, pin to the foot piece and then sew. Worked like a charm.
Thank you so much for this video. And for the coupon code! This is so sweet...I ordered and another one from her site. Just finished printing them. I can watch your video if I get stuck.
Thank you for this amazing tutorial and coupon code! I just purchased the pattern off Esty, so excited to give it a try! I was wondering for the ears is it possible to sew from the backside of the fabric and flip through to the front so the seam isn't showing?
Hi from England. Thanks for this tutorial. Don’t know what I would have done without it. I have a problem though, the inner front legs, once cut out, don’t anywhere near match the gusset front leg piece. I just don’t get it! Please can you help! Thank you so much x
What size eyes did you use? I bought the 6mm like the pattern said but they look so small. I’m starting my elephant later today. Also, I love you pin cushion by your machine. Did you make it?
I think I used 7mm or 9mm, I'm not 100% sure. My apologies. Yes, I did make the pin cushion by my machine. I purchased the little galvanized bucket at Dollar Tree and glued the pin cushion part I made in it. I have a video on how I did it. You can view it here: th-cam.com/video/4TjvzOso_QE/w-d-xo.html
hi this is a lovely elephant however im having problems with the gussett ? looking on the tutorial i can see where you said ive gone a head and sewn the gussett in? although the tutorial doesnt show how its done ? im having problems where to start sewing it in? for example where do i start the sewing? is itr at the back ? front . or centre somewhere ? i sort of cant fathom out where to start with this it all ? sorry for all the questions lol , but its its my first time with an elephant x many thanks
Karen- The gusset is tricky. I used quilt clips to hold mine in place. Pins are fine too. You pin or clip it all the way around under the belly of the elephant. I started sewing from the middle because it was easier for me that way, but you can start anywhere. 😊
@@TheCraftyAuthor hi i have used clips however im ready to throw it out of the window LOL i seem to have fulness of fabric on one side of the gusset as i clip it together
You will have extra fabric. It does not fit snug. I understand it can be a bit frustrating, you just have to work with it. Unfortunately, I am not the designer of the elephant and I can’t make corrections to the pattern nor legally advise you on how to tweak it. You would need to reach out to the designer directly, through the Etsy shop where you purchased the design to see if she has any tips that may help. My apologies for not being able to help further, I just legally can’t.

Hi! I bought her lovely partner😍 I wanted to ask her where she bought that fabulous elephant fabric! i'm italian but i can buy online! thank you very much for your availability ❤
Sheetal- You will need to visit this link : www.etsy.com/listing/273155730/elephant-sewing-pattern-elephant-pattern?ref=shop_home_active_1&crt=1 This unfortunately, is not my pattern and therefore, I cannot give you measurements. You will need to contact the designer for that.
hi ive cut out the pattern, and notice their is head version A B C ive cut them all out lol , im really confused as i then realised i only need 2 of the elephants head which would be left and right ? am i right thinking that these are just slightly different shaped heads for if i want to make more elephants with different shaped heads lol many thanks karen
There are 3 heads that come with the pattern. You need to choose which head you want for your current elephant. You will cut 2 pieces of fabric from the one head. I fold my fabric in half, pin the pattern on the fabric and then cut it. I hope that helps.
Hi Helen- You can get the pattern here: www.etsy.com/listing/273155730/elephant-sewing-pattern-elephant-pattern?ref=shop_home_active_1&crt=1 The fabric I used is Tula Pink and you can find her fabric line online at The Fat Quarter Shop.

Exactly. I think that must have been an error. Why would you leave a raw edge on the ears?
Love! 'thanks for the hint of putting interfacing on/in the ears!

It is adorable!
Adorable!!!
Did you iron the interfacing for the ears?
I did not. I used a sew in interfacing.

Thanks for the video, can't see all that you're doing as your hands are in the way especially doing the gusset
How do I print out the pattern bigger like you did? Her pattern is a lot smaller . I want to make a bigger elephant. Where and how do I print it
I’m your print settings, unclick the Fit to Size and choose Actual Size. That should fix it. 😊
Beautiful
Sure wish there was a better angle to see what your doing but I love the elephant
Thank you 😊

Are there more animals in this series? I’d like to sew a basket of animals with this type of face seam (bear, tiger, bunny)
Unfortunately, this isn’t my pattern. You will need to check with Ric Rac Sews on Etsy.
So stinking cute!!
Lá no tinha visto este da revista e não onsegui o molde agora vou tentar fazer esse que você ensinou do achei um pouco difícil a parte de baixo
Actually, that pattern is from a template on Temu. I have that exact template that I order from there along with a bunny pattern and a bear pattern
The instructions on the Temu templates are quite hard to follow sometimes. The one I bought doesn't have a tail either 🙁
Where can I get those elephant measurements?
Thank you.

Thank you so much I needed to sew my purple elephant that is ripped
How do you sell the pattern for the memory bear thats either mccalls or simplicity
You can’t sell someone else’s copyrighted pattern. I would Google copyright laws and take a look there. They will be able to better help you.

Lovely.. What size mm are the eyes?
Sherry- The eyes I used are 12mm but I’ve used 10mm as well and those work great too! 😊
I basted my feet pads on and found it easier. Just a suggestion.
Thank you! I did that on my second one per your recommendation and it was much easier. Thank you! 😊
hi i have just purchased the pattern from etsy is it possible to sew the ears right sides together and flip through ? many thanks
Hi Karen- Yes. I believe you can. 😊
What kind of interfacing did you use - heat n bond
I used Pellon interfacing. It is a heavier interfacing. 😊
The Crafty Author - is it an iron on

Hi👌👌👌👌
I am a sri lankan can anyone send me who bought this pattern
Man, I am having a serious issue putting on the gussett
Sandra- The gusset is tough. I recommend pinning and if you need to, hand sew it on.
The gusset and inside legs were very hard to sew together and match. Gave up!
Rats, the pattern is expensive.
How do you get the pattern
