I just ordered this pattern. I made my own pattern because two little neighbor boys loved all my material and they loved my sewing machine. They had never seen anyone sew before so I showed them and also cut out my frog pattern and made them both a frog. They even picked out the eyes. Thank you
I discovered Jordan a few months ago and I am addicted! I'm a beginning sewist but I just LOVE watching Donna work. She and Matt are adorable. I ordered a download of this pattern from FQS because Jordan doesn't have it anymore 😞. I was thinking that using a little fusible web at the opening after you fill it might make the final stitching easier. I am going to try it as soon as I get a chance to make this. So cute!!
Many thanks! I just finished making five of them for my grandchildren for Christmas. I used some wonderful leftover fabric and each is adorable. I used a funnel for the poly pellets and it made the job easier! I'm sure the kids will love them!
This frog would make a great gift for a student going away to college for the first time. It could be given as the student's high school graduation gift, with a note or poem included about taking the frog along to college. A simple, handmade fellow like this can be comforting in a new and sometimes daunting experience.
Aaah i just cannot stop smiling watching this Frog being made. I have the Pattern and am making it for my Granddaughters. But watching this again it just makes me smile. Thank you Donna 🌻
Aww- I’m catching this video in my list a full 4 years later! I first saw the froggies back when Two Sisters originally put the pattern out- ages ago!- and made it for my autistic son! He loved the hefty weight plus the fact that it was a froggie! Since then, I have made several of these cuties for all the autistic kiddos we have known throughout the years! We love them!! 💜🧩🐸
A funnel really makes filling the crafty things so easy and maybe basting the opening closed before you sew it on the machine will keep the filling inside. I have a big bag of crushed walnut shells that would work great for this project and I think embroidering the eyes would look really cute! Great project!!
I love this pattern! The eyes can be embroidered, using cotton floss or perle cotton. The center of the eyes can be French knots. If you're going to be making several of these frogs over time, then measure the number of cups of poly pellets you use for your first frog. This will take the guesswork out of filling your subsequent frogs with poly pellets.
What a darling frog, nice pattern and very good tutorial. If I were making a bunch, I might cut the pattern from clear template material, to see the line up of fabrics. Can you imagine this done in rich colors and velvets and satins like a real crazy quilt and then embellished. Would turn him into a real frog prince!! You could even give him a crown.
Filled mine with rice instead of the poly beads. It's cheaper and can be heated or put in freezer for when a kid isn't feeling well. Absolutely love the possibilities of patchwork that can be used.
I bought the pattern on the Jordan Fabrics’ website. I received it promptly and made two frogs within the first 24 hours; I have a third one by now. I find the poly pellets a little pricey, or else I would have made a few more frogs. Great project to make. Thank you Donna; this was a ton of fun and the little froggies have gotten a lot of compliments.
Hi. i made one and embroidered ‘It’s so easy being green” and the child’s name and date. It was wonderfully received. I used glass beads in feet and polly in most of it. Sew easy to make; a good beginner project cause there’s practice with staight lines. Thanks Donna.
Donna, they're adorable and I am in love with the idea that you can add rice and microwave them. Plus having it match your quilt is outstanding. Thank you ribbit!
Love this great tutorial and how you had clear instructions step by step. Your enthusiasm is contagious especially at the end with your poised frogs as I now want to make this frog doing the patchwork wonky angles way. I loved how that looked and also the pinking shears to finish off the edges. I found a similar pattern and paid ten cents for it- and I have made several and filled them with dry beans and hand sewed some embroidery thread eyes. The children I gave them too love poising them too? What a fun gift to give. Thank you for making this video.
My grandma went through a stage of sewing cloth stuffed animals in the 1960s. That included frogs 🐸. She made one each for my cousin and I. Ours weren't patchwork. She embroidered eyes and smiles on them. They're stuffed with popcorn. I still have mine and I'll soon be 68.
That is the cutest frog! After I finish mine and my husband's quilt, I plan to make quilts for my 10 grandkids. These would be great to do out of the leftover material from each quilt. Thanks for the great video!
You have the Best videos on quilting projects bar none! I love that you show Everything start to finish. And such a variety! Thank you! Wish your shop was here in Arizona!
That is so cute! It reminds me of the things my Aunt used to make me when I was a child. I think I'm going to male something or maybe several somethings for my Grandson. It's July right now and he turned 4 in March she's old enough I don't jave ro worry too much anout it but young enough that he will love some animal friends.
Just ordered the frog pattern. So adorable. Hoping I can get it made in time for my 3 year old granddaughter's birthday party on Saturday. She loves wearing the simple little jumper dress I made from your pattern.
I have made several of these for the neighbor kids, grandkids , daughter, and for myself I made a leopard one with rhinestone buttons very chic he sits on my sofa and watches me sew in my sewing room.
Ordered two different patterns from Jordan’s Fabrics and I’ve already received them, my go to place forever , if sold out, I will keep checking! She explains everything in her tutorials so well. Thanks so much Donna❤️👍
Cute idea! I'm not crazy about the poly pellets. There is waaay too much polyester in out oceans & generally in the environment. I would try using lentils or rice. Lentils or rice would be heavier, but would work well, I think. I've made simple rice-filled bags to use as bed warmers. OH! She just mentioned microwaving rice! It works great! Also - embroidering eyes would work well.
@@sutela2060 If the rice has any unhatched weevil eggs in it, you could eventually end up with weevils in the frog. You could put a bag of rice in the freezer for 72ish hours, take it out, open the bag, and lay the rice on a towel or paper towels until they thaw and any moisture dries up. After that, you shouldn't have an issue with weevils.
That is so cute love it, You can even use a Funnel to put the pelts in the frog it’ much easier! I love to make one for my granddaughter please, she’s 14 years old she will love it!
Love this one too. For some reason, when you pose the frogs, I envision a tongue sticking out of his mouth. Thanks for your tutelage. I really like Vivian's suggestion of french knots for the eyes.
The Poly Pellets are great for this project. They do Not retain heat, however. A great alternative is Rice or Whole Flax Seeds. 30 sec. to 1 minute in the microwave. The flax seeds retain heat the longest. You can also add 1 drop of Essential Oil per cup of filler, mix a bowl and then stuff, for a nice scent.
Yey - thank god I have friends in US and were able to send me the pattern.Ihave also a picture with you in the envelope. Can t wait to do a frog ! Cheers from ROMANIA
Cool idea for leftover postage square blocks or crazy quilt leftovers. I could make a FQ size anything with scraps and make these. Thanks for the video!😍
Arne and Carlos videos had this same jaunty music playing as they drove along in their vintage VW Bug through the Lofoten Islands of Norway last summer (2020). The music fit so well with the casual, spontaneous nature of their vacation above the Arctic Circle.
Yeah! I got my mail order "frog patch" from your store today. Such a happy pattern. ~~~~ Excited to make three before Xmas, think I can do it!? BTW, very nicely packaged, and I like your double check process of making sure what's ordered is packaged, mine was Verified by "A", and packed by R.S.! Thank you!
Well, started two frogs to accompany a quilt to a friend in New Hampshire--and, Donna, you make it look so easy! I found attaching fabric to the underside did help my thread stop breaking (with only the batting on the bottom). They are much smaller than they appear on video, but cute as buttons! Once I added fabric to the underside (to the process), it went a lot smoother for me after that--and, as with everything, one gets better as "one does", and, I will be making *more* of these frongs to accompany my quilts to there perspective new homes! Like you said, "They're so darn cute!" Thanks!
Update on my update! OK, even just hours later--persistance pays off, I've learned a few things! I think I'll be making frogs to go with all the quilts I give away as gifts! Fun!
Love these. Have made several.
Love how your machine talks to you Donna.
I just ordered this pattern. I made my own pattern because two little neighbor boys loved all my material and they loved my sewing machine. They had never seen anyone sew before so I showed them and also cut out my frog pattern and made them both a frog. They even picked out the eyes. Thank you

My Mother m was making those frogs back in the 70’s, they were doorstops and shelf sitters back then.
I love this pattern!

So cute
I use pinking scissors to cut the pattern out. Also I traced the pattern on pattern ease and it bends easier than paper.
Love love love. Going to get that pattern.
So stinkin’ cute!

Janet Alexander you need a road trip!!!
Wish it was here in Australia ..❤️
I love this project, and made seven for Christmas gifts. They were all appreciated, and it was good to begin sewing again. Thanks
in the late 60's we made similar ones in Home Economics class. They're great for teaching kids to sew.
Donna, you are amazing
These frogs were popular in the 70s, so fun to see them again. They weren’t quilted, just bean filled frogs.
I love this frog. I make jelly roll race quilts and a matching frog. It’s my go to for gifts
Donna, there’s so much enthusiasm over this frog I think you should do a video on pictures of quilter’s finished frogs.
It would be a hit!!
I love the Donna Jordan from Jordan fabrics videos. Get to learn a lot of handy tricks.
That's a fabulous frog! You always have the best tutorials!
I just love this cute little frog I’ve made some before but I need to make more thanks for sharing❤✂️🧵🪡💕❤️💖
Super cute!!
It's so cute! I can't wait to make one for my mom ❤ she loves frogs.
Wish I had your patience. I’m in love with the frog.
so cute..I remember making these in school, many, many years ago..we used popcorn to stuff them..so much fun to make.
Love those! We used to make a lot of critters like that, as I remember, full of beans way back in the 70s
Very cute
Always look forward to and enjoy watching your videos. I have learned so much. I like all the layouts, but #3 is my favorite.
Aaaah Donna I just love those frogs - I’ve called mine Kermit the Frog. Watched this video again today and its just made me smile and smile 🌻
Just ordered the frog pattern. So adorable. Hoping I can get it made in time for my 3 year old granddaughter's birthday party on Saturday. She loves wearing the simple little jumper dress I made from your pattern.

Thank you for such a thorough video. Your videos are the best!!
He is too cute, I love his one very pale green back toes! Adorable
I have made several of these for the neighbor kids, grandkids , daughter, and for myself I made a leopard one with rhinestone buttons very chic he sits on my sofa and watches me sew in my sewing room.
That’s so good😊 Could make cute patchwork dolls, just a thought. Donna, you’re a genius and always so very inspirational.
How adorable!

Super super cute!!
What a handsome prince. Great tutorial, thanks for sharing.
Love the 🐸
Lovely !
Ordered two different patterns from Jordan’s Fabrics and I’ve already received them, my go to place forever , if sold out, I will keep checking! She explains everything in her tutorials so well. Thanks so much Donna❤️👍
You have got nice friend to play with.
The frog is super cute. If you had used a funnel for the filling you'd need a much smaller opening
Cute idea! I'm not crazy about the poly pellets. There is waaay too much polyester in out oceans & generally in the environment. I would try using lentils or rice. Dan Bev you could use wool too.
Poly pellets are expensive. 21 dollars a bag! I’m going with the rice
Can't rise get bad over time??

If the rice has any unhatched weevil eggs in it, you could eventually end up with weevils in the frog. You can’t wash naturals like rice or beans. I’d want to be able wash it if it’s for a child!
That is so cute love it, You can even use a Funnel to put the pelts in the frog it’ much easier! I love to make one for my granddaughter please, she’s 14 years old she will love it!
I love those edges!! So cute!! Thanks for sharing!! Peace and blessings.
I love the frog pattern, I hope you make another video on your new quilt shop, It looks awsome.
Love this one too. For some reason, when you pose the frogs, I envision a tongue sticking out of his mouth. Thanks for your tutelage.
I really like Vivian's suggestion of french knots for the eyes.
Loved it!! Please, make more sewing crafts like this one.
Wonderful idea for Christmas gifts!
So adorable, thanks
I love this frog. I’ll see if you still carry the pattern. Thank you

As always a great video! The frogs are fun pieces for people to make with bits of left over fabric. Thans for such a cute idea!
Cute! Great idea! I'm a needle pointer and I've seen a many of these little guys done in needlepoint.
Cool idea for leftover postage square blocks or crazy quilt leftovers. I could make a FQ size anything with scraps and make these. Thanks for the video!😍
Donna is having so much fun with those chubby frogs! Love it! Loved the song too! Much lighter and happy!
Arne and Carlos videos had this same jaunty music playing as they drove along in their vintage VW Bug through the Lofoten Islands of Norway last summer (2020). The music fit so well with the casual, spontaneous nature of their vacation above the Arctic Circle.
