You da man!!! I’ve been wranglin with this on a 4.7L for 3 days and now there’s light at the end of the tunnel (and it isn’t a train). Fender is awesome idea i had some crap fall in my eye and couldn’t see he obvious LOL. GREAT JOB SHARING, THANKS!!
Thank you very much brother for explaining that I got the same problem here I'm gonna try what you did I have a little slide hammer maybe I can put that on the screw once I drill it in the hole Thank you for your help
Man thanks a lot for this vid. Mine was even worse. I stupidly let a buddy of mine chisel it out with a blade screwdriver and he chipped it away about an inch deep…angle drill 1/8 pilot hole and a 4 inch deck screw with vice grips and about 500 baby taps with a hammer and she finally came out! Thanks again!
Oh wow yea those little boogers are a pain . I was stressed out for 3 days thinking how I was going tobget mine out after the head of it snapped clean off lol. Unfortunately I'm due to change both cam and crank sensors again because auto zone sells cheap shit and the seals are leaking like a sivv..glad you were able to get it out
THANK YOU!!! Experienced the exact same with my son's Dakota with the 3.7. We just extracted the final sensor piece using this method after having the same issues.
Wow thanks for sharing this video my 2000 Dodge 3.9 v6 I thought it was the fuel pump I changed the fuel pump it ran for a couple of weeks then it start acting up again but the check engine light does not turn on I'm going change the crank sensor again thanks for sharing good luck 🤞👌👍💯💯
you know what my issue actually was water getting into the fuel tank the top fuel tank ring gets corroded and dirt and water enters everytime it rains no check engine light just cranks like it's not getting fuel
Thank god, I was hoping someone would have encountered the same issue with this. My 4.7 (4.7 and 3.7 are basically the same just v8 version) in my Durango has been throwing the crank sensor code for a while now just kinda ignored it until it finally gave out completely yesterday. Start pulling it and of course it snapped in the block. Was trying to avoid drilling into it but it looks like that's what I'm gonna have to do. Shout out to Dodge for putting it in the most jackass location. lol
Thanks bud used this today! 👍I tried using chicken wire through the bolt hole with pry bar no luck. Watching your video bam, got mine out the same way!
You did great, me WITH A ridiculous 2009 3.5 Dodge Journey, even the garage did not know a thing, here in Canada, been on this for 3 months, broke of scrapped the guts out and plastic housing inside, even small pick the whole vehicle was moving while I was pulling, noting, e bit of the outer part still there just seen one..!!! video with steel weld and one guy had to use the plastic one so just ordered on Amazon since Canadian Tire is worthless, nothing in stock, so hopefully after months can get out, and like you every vid I have seen ', oh came out like butter.''... riiiiight...! or if was metal could pinch it no DODGE AND their plastics... so thank you for saying it and showing us, I used that same eye screw and just broke the plug attach part.. and with a damn neighbor, that even calls the cops, just for fun... so happy you got that out...! *mine is down between block heater plug and transmission facing BACK of vehicle on a downward angle so HA... DODGE... THANK YOU DODGE..!
@@gsxrstyle Hi thank you for writing, Item should come tomorrow and I too hope it works...! Journey has been sitting there for 7 months I hope works.. thanks for the help...
this was very helpful. what a bitch getting mine out. Used the eye lag. had to file dn the opening a little to get the new one in, also. replaced both. cam and crank sensors. still have the same problem wanting to stall at 3500 rpm. fed up for now. thnx again. Bruce
Glad this helped ..but sucks your truck is still giving you problems ..damn dodges lol..turns out my problem was everytime it rained water and dirt was gathering on top of the fuel tank the ring and seal rotted away so water was mixing with gas
Just make sure you thread it in very slow you dont want to strip the threads it makes also try spraying lube around the sensor and pull straight out ..dont wiggle it back and forth as that will oblong the tight seal you just made with the eye bolt..good luck hope it works for you
I used 2 extension drill bits with a 2 inch drywall screw with pliers after the seal came off had to clean up the outside of rust with a spiral drill bit and wire brush drill extension them on blaster came out with all that hard work
You can also use a voltage tester on your crankshaft and camshaft sensor and if it's giving proper voltage then that's not your problem and you don't have the stress of taking them out.
Just the opposite. If it's giving the correct voltage, then it IS the sensor. Incorrect voltage means it's broken wires or a bad PCM. Pin 2 and Pin 3 should have about 5 volts between them when the key is on.
I had same problem and went same qay tou did but the way i got it out was a self tap screw in the center almost pushed the remanding part of sensor in the block graded it with a pair of niddle noise the big ones that bind the first 1 and a half in under the screw head and swiss really tite and pulled for about a hour finally came back in the whole when it was half way past the block i took a minacher flat bar and pride it out the first screaw i had in it came out then i used a bigger self tap screaw it worked i that i was really fucked after it went in there was a rod or something right behide the sensor i got lucky it stoped right behide that sensor
i have the same issue with my daughters Chrysler Sebring. Is there anything behind the sensor that i could hurt if i drill or use a screw to deep in the sensor? I read someone used a red hot nail and they stuck it into the broken sensor so I doubt there's anything behind the sensor that could be damaged but was curious. What a pain!
the inside of the block is on the other side like a channel. Just be cautious because there is a metal magnet on the end of the sensor . make sure it doesn't dislodge and fall Into the block .sorry for the late response
2006 Dodge Grand Caravan Crank Shaft Sensor bolt thread messes up on Engine. Now can not tight bolt on Crank Shaft Sensor and even I replace Sensor it will be loose again soon because bolts thread is messed up, any solution.
Nope it turned out I was getting dirty water in the gas tank the top ring rotted out and every time it rained water would puddle up on top of tank and enter it clogging up the injectors..try siphoning the fuel and see if you have water in tank
I mean hopefully it was a super small part and only plastic and no metal if so it will get bounced around in side the motor and hopefully eventually get ground down to a pulp and end up in the oil pan . but depending how big of a piece it is and if it's metal or plastic potentially can cause some damage depending what it makes contact with
I'm also trying to replace crank sensor haven't broke it yet. Been spraying it with PB blaster for 3 days n gently twisting it. Hopefully it will eventually break free.
@@gsxrstyle if it weren't for people like yourself making the effort to upload helpful Dodge fix videos my truck would already be on Craigslist. Thanks for taking the time. It may be too early to speak but I think the sensor was the issue with it stalling. I could deal with it stalling, but I couldn't deal with calls from my wife on the side of the road that she's terrified to drive it

Agreed. They absolutely put that sensor In a shitty spot .hood luck and I hope she comes out easy for you
Just got mine out using an eye bolt. Great suggestion! Thank You!!

Mine shut off going down the road. Then wouldnt start back up. Changed the fuel pump that didnt work . very helpful.

Healy coil or jb weld then retap the threads

It's a eye bolt that you would screw into wood .you can find at any hardware store

I bought a angle air drill from harbor freight ..it was like $20 bucks any angle drill should work
