I have the PD1701 V3 and I simultaneously Love and Hate the watch, if that's even possible.
I love it as a weekend wear. It has the Speedmaster styling I like, it has twice the water resistance of a Speedy. It comes with a sapphire crystal, a ceramic bezel insert, decent case finishing and a Seiko Mecha Quartz movement. The bracelet, while having some sharp edges, is suprisingly solid and well finished.
Over all, it's a great watch to wear in situations where I don't want to wear my actual Bulova Lunar Pilot (Sorry Omega, I'm not spending $6K on a Speedy, and the MoonSwatch is insulting when placed side by side with the Pagani)
What is infuriating about the watch is it keeps better time than my Bulova Lunar Pilot which is operating at 8 times the oscillation of the Pagani. The Lunar Pilot is several times more expensive than the Pagani, and yet performs worse. And I can't blame Bulova, because the Lunar Pilot is in spec. It's just that that the Seiko movement that came in my Pagani is insane.
When you see what Pagani is offering for less than a Benjamin, it's easy to get angry at the entire watch industry. When Seiko doesn't put a sapphire crystal on anything under $500.00, you have to ask why. When a swiss watch company expects you to pay over $250.00 on a plastic watch with a shoddy movement because Omega printed their name on it, you have to ask why.
Pagani Design is not losing money. They are in fact rolling in it, while offering these watches at such low prices. This tells you simply just how much "traditional" watch makers are gouging you for. Even those who focus on "affordable" watches, like Seiko, Tissot, and Citizen, price their products way above what you get a Pagani design for.
Say what you will about them. They specialize in the "homage" market. But behind the "homage" is typically a surprisingly good watch at a hard to beat price point.

Okay nobody's saying 35a is better the point is anything with nh35a is comparable to what pagani sells so when comparing prices you need to compare watches with comparable movements the point you try to make was that San Martin's and suggess are three to five times the price and what I'm pointing out is that all the ones that are three to five times the price have a high beat movement so the bottom line is when you compare the Pagani watches to the better watches offered on aliexpress.com that come with an nh35a the very slight difference in price is well worth the extra quality you get

I got DD40 and DJ41 homages from Pagani and my main complains are badly aligned dials/date wheels/cyclops, and sharp bracelets. No mechanical issues to date, though, but they all have TMI NH35 or NH36 movements. The alignment issues I tried to fix by myself but found it beyond my expertise to do a proper job, so they're staying misaligned. The bracelets are just like every other Chinese bracelet I've got: they need elbow grease, so I bought a cheap Aliexpress nail polisher tool to grind, sand, and polish them. For the money I paid, I'm not complaining.

Reading over reviews online, it seems like they have an issue with automatics. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt that some issue with the watches not working properly might be do to shipping. I've never transported watches to a jewelry store before, but I doubt they toss it in the back of an Amazon truck and hope for the best.
This doesn't seem to be an issue with watches using Seiko internal parts. Which makes sense.
The wrist strap, I'm not surprised. All the attention went to the actual time piece itself. I can get a new strap at the mall. Not a deal breaker.
It seems to be hit or miss, with the biggest issue being the strap for the wrist, and the second most common issue being the automatic movement, which I think is a combination of quality and shipping.
That being said. Automatics, whether Swiss made or Chinese made, need to be serviced eventually. And I believe you also want to set the date with the watch at a certain time to avoid damaging the movement.

For me, PD watches look good enough and perform well enough for the money, I don't expect them to be some over the top quality watch at this level of asking money. Maybe my expectations of this brand are just low and I accept them for what they are. They are not collector level watches, but they aren't Benyar or whatever level quality either. They are kinda utilitarian in my view and will be replaced eventually. If my band messes up, I'll replace it without a 2nd thought or I repair it with some thread locker, as for my experience of 5 or so in my own collection, they are holding up and working fine. The NH35a is not gonna be some high level smooth movement, if winding feels like crap in it, just replace the movement for dirt cheap yourself. If the watch gets replaced by Amazon and you got a replacement, then just be happy it got replaced and you didn't get stuck with a non-runner... but again, the movement is so cheap, one can just replace it and move on and not buy the brand again, keeping in mind with the higher end affordable brands, you'll still get (most likely) the same movement, but maybe they at least have a cleaner factory and less debris in the movements or something and finishing will probably more to ones expectations. Thanks for the video and your opinion. We all need both sides of the stories to be able to make educated purchases for ourselves.

    • @mr.eswatchreviews

I understand and what I'm saying is that the other affordable brands on AliExpress you get way more for your money steeldive Kronos San Martin and Sugess all offer way better quality watches for just a little bit more money the other companies also offer these with nh35a nh34A PT 5000 and sw200 movements and no I did not expect absolute perfection out of these watches when I first got them I thought they were pretty good however once I bought more and more watches from AliExpress to view on the channel it became blatantly obvious the deficiencies of Pagani design and if you look on my channel you will find the video where I modified the Pepsi and change the dial hands and movement unfortunately all those parts cost me as much as that watch brand new assembled but since you're going in there you might as well make it the way you want and for myself personally I will not be wasting any more time or money with Pagani design I already know for a fact I would much rather spend an extra 30 to $50 and get a watch that I don't have to do nothing to and will last even longer than the Pagani thank you for watching hopefully you subscribed I'm not here to bash anybody I'm just here to tell the truth and tell it like it is and just like I said in the video it just dawned on me one day that I had gotten four watches myself personally and the other one was from another viewer who bought it brand new and had issues immediately so for my personal experience 4 out of 5 watches being bad is not odds that I am willing to take I am glad that you have had good luck and I hope you continue to enjoy them

I don't trust the chinese movements they have in some watches. Both have been very good. Only problem was bit of tight links on the airking but with some vigorous manipulation it's softened up and fine now.. And was a bit sharp so I used some wet and dry on the edges. The gmt has a jubilee style braclet that's been fine from the start. Both beautiful watches working correctly. I would buy another if on sale and with the Japanese NH35 movements. Good value for what you get.. but there is room for improvement with the finish. I have invictas I would say Pagani is slightly better quality overall.

I got my PAGANI Batman GMT today. I got it knowing what I’m getting into, no expectations. I own a few Heimdallr, SteelDive, Phoibos, and I love each and everyone. This watch looks good, and has good specs. The bracelet is definitely junk, I had to be very careful adjusting it because some of the screws would not budge. The bezel has very minimal back play and side to side play. Rotation is very loose, in comparison. Time keeping accuracy remains to be seen, but thus far it is on time. If it dies on me I’ll use it for parts and practice. But, in the end I would not recommend it. If you’re on a budget, get yourself a G-Shock, or maybe a SteelDive, or a Heimdallr. Sugess’ are on the pricier side of the spectrum but also a good choice.

I ordered a Pagani on a whim from Ali, but hated the watch when I got it. The bracelet was too shiny, it looked really cheap, like a watch you win at a fair or in an arcade hall. Also I have no clue how to size the bracelet, the holes are incredibly small and I don't have the tools to set it right. So I decided to return it, but the shop where I bought it denied it was ordered at their shop and refused to let me send it back. That was bummer number one. On top of that I then saw I paid almost double the cheapest price for it, other shops had the same watch at a much cheaper price. So not only I paid way too much for a watch that looks like a piece of trash, I wasn't even able to return it. Or wear it (if I wanted to). Last time for me, I will just stick to San Martin watches.

There quality control is terrible. It's kind of a lottery really. If you get one that works as it should, you have a watch that would cost several hundred $$$/£££, if made by Seiko, Citizen, Tag Heuer etc. They have great quality control, but it's reflected in a much steeper the price of the watch.

The brand is ok if you check over the watch with a screwdriver and tighten everything up. And only stick to their quartz range.

I unscrew all screws of any new bracelet and refit them with locktight. Started doing this after I bought a Miltat Rollball, which is a quality bracelet, that had three screws come loose. I did not expect that from a €100+ bracelet but it didn't do any damage and I did not lose the watch.
It takes about ten to fifteen minutes but at least I know I'll not get any of those nasty surprises anymore.

I completely agree - but I do like the look of the watch for the price. If you can talk them into sending you a new movement and you can put it in. You can wind up with a nice watch. I've ordered two day/dates and one just stopped for no reason at all. Dead. The other one works great. I asked to return the watch but they said I had to take it to a local repair shop. Would not refund me and would not let me return. I was past my return window so I just hounded Pagani on messages until the said they would just mail me a new movement. I have all the gear to swap it so I said that would work. They use a ETA 2834-2 movement if anyone wants to buy one to repair a day/date.

I sold all my authentic luxury watches spanning from Rolex to Grand Seikos for homages. 😂 I made money from them already not that it was goal in the first place. I just like watches in general from cheap Casios to very expensive timepieces. Once people get taste of luxury, you eventually get sick of them. Also I can wear these homages anytime and if I get robbed, I’d be happy to give my $100 Pagani Design watch than my $10,000 Rolex watch. Although I only kept one of my luxury watches, my Tag Heuer F1 in quartz. Gotta have a quartz in the collection and it has sentimental value because it was my very first entry level “luxury” timepiece. I couldn’t be happier now that I got rid of my luxury timepieces plus I bought insurance for them just in case they get stolen or some other mishap. I sleep better at night now. 😂
