For correct screw replacement when dismantling anything like the PUSH 2, place a piece of same-size paper over the device and mark the screw holes on the paper (scrape over the hole with the side of a pencil). Then when you remove the screws, push them through the paper where they originated - that way you'll be sure to put the same screws back in the right holes! Also with self-tappers, turn the screw backwards gently when reinserting and it will 'click' when the thread reaches the start point. Thus it will go back in smoothly to the same cut thread in the socket - otherwise you'll be cutting a new thread and that can only happen once more and the hole will be too big.. (Good tip for any self-tapping screw, into plastic or aluminium etc.)
Dude, I'm glad you didn't edit down or fast forward the disassembly any more than you did. I heard about the signatures a long time ago, long before I got mine (just this last week). Watching your vid and seeing how long that took you even with it sped up and skipping parts has thoroughly convinvced me to never take it apart if it's not broken haha The signatures are an amazing detail (and very morale boosting I'm sure). I also love the Ableton logo that they had printed right onto the PCB.
i just bought a Push 1 in 2022 for under $200.. If you use ableton Push is it.. I almost actually upgrade my Launchpad X to a Pro..lol 2022 Push 1 and Ableton 11 is a absolute joy to make music on. Dont call it a controller! Soon as you hold it in your hands you will realize why its marketed as a instrument... Definitely get more of a MPC feel from it then a Launch pad
Hey Mredrollo, I love the teachings and I'm ready to work now. Question, I'm looking at the Ableton Push2 or the Machine MK3. I'm stuck I have the money for what ever. Tell me why you pick the Ableton Push2 to jam with and why not the Machine? Thank you bro, and many blessing
is there any extra latency using the foot pedal device, and are you saying that you can literally use any midi footpedal including ones with like 6 pedals all mapped to different buttons alongside using the push as it is?
JACK BADEN hey man, I’m not sure the lengths you can go with this device. I believe you will be able to map 1 pedal per foot switch port. Best thing to do would be to download and plug and play, it’s free :)
GannoK haha thanks man. I definitely need a few more tattoos and some lofi in the background, but not far off! Yeah wanted to search under the hood for so long! So glad I did.
@@mredrollo I just realized that it probably doesn't matter as Push 2 tells you everything on the screen before you turn anything... haha. So I guess it doesn't matter. Thanks again!
Push 2 is incredible. The Akai Force had the potential to be even better, then they went hard into it only being standalone - which is probably for the best, but I wish it could be as good as the Push and a great standalone.
I dont understand the pedal problem, why not just hook up that pedal to your midi in on your audio interface, or via cable to the computer? why does it have to go into the Push 2 ?
Hack #2 question: that footswitch pedal have 2 buttons, they work separately? I mean pedal 1 sends one midi signal and pedal 2 sends another one? Wonder if this works with my behringer fs112b
@@mredrollo maybe i missed out something but it didn't work out for me, it only works when live is turned off. Any specific settings i need to do to make it work?
Why does every. Single. Fucking. Video. On TH-cam have to start with slurping? Not charming, quirky, or cool in any conceivable way. If slurping is what people want, start another channel so dedicated and leave us sane folx out of it. Please.
Its actually inconceivable that recording just happens to start by surprise mid-sip. "Purposeful nonchalance" is too self-contradictory for this world...

Thanks for the tips!
Damn this is a good ass suggestion!
Really great tips, thanks for sharing!
Holy shit a TH-cam comment suggesting actual useful and insightful tips. Genuinely worried the sky may be falling. Thanks for these!
Just bought me 2 Korg Pedals and enjoying the flexibility of the Pedal remap :D
Thnx mate!!
Super cool video man! Love the signatures on the inside, best easter egg ever
What else is hidden that can’t be seen?? 🤔
Brilliant glad you took your push apart now mine can all stay together... respect to Ableton design crew.
Absolutely!

Haha, I’m glad mate. It was a nerve racking experience!
Thank you for all of your awesome Push content!
Hehe you’re welcome, more to come!
Whew those last 10min had me McNervous! The PUSH2 is sacred in my studio. LOL. Glad you got it back together, and thanks for the useful hacks!
Any time!
That was awesome!!! Totally noticed you sweating b@lls but you nailed it. Loved the relief at the end
Haha totally!
Denatured alcohol gets rid of the sticky coating very easily 👍
Another one who had no idea about the signatures!! Thanks for showing it off! Makes me proud to own a Push 2. I love Ableton even more now
Such a happy moment!
This was so cool!!! Now I really can’t wait to purchase the Push 2!!!!
Thanks for that video man. The push 2 has been my favorite controller since I've started using ableton. Keep em coming. 🙌
thanks buddy
wow the signatures, so cool!
I know right!!
Can’t wait to see the next iteration of Push!
Me too!
Very entertaining vid
Thank you! Just released a new one :)
Came here through Hozaifa. Proud owner of Push 2. Thanks for this ❤️
Yes! You're most welcome.

Sick mic boom arm and great tips 🔥
Appreciate it!

I’ve never used Maschine so I really couldn’t say. Push works seamlessly with Live and I’ve never felt the need to try anything else :)
@@mredrollo Thanks bro!!

super video.thank u
Welcome 😊
Thanks for sharing the hacks. Great video!
My pleasure bro. Love your work!!
Great Video!! Final days of push 🤔 is it because a new Push 3 is coming out soon?
Haha one would hope. I was just referring to how I was potentially going to break it! 😂
I do not believe that, push users are still learning how ro use it.
Thanks for explaining the SS4V, Ed - helped me to understand the maker's tutorial! Going to try it out for my next livestream jam
Amazing video, I love the Chris Ramsey reference. I had 0 idea about the inside of the Push 2, it's a really neat addition to their labor of love lol.
GannoK haha thanks man. I definitely need a few more tattoos and some lofi in the background, but not far off! Yeah wanted to search under the hood for so long! So glad I did.
9:44 i'd also use the Push 2 as a gaming controller instead of the gamepad.
I know right! I totally didn’t even think of that!!
@@mredrollo also the push 2 would be a good controller for chess because of its 8x8 pad grid. What a perfect match lol.
The Chroma Caps you put on.. they're not touch-sensitive, though. Does this bother you, not knowing a parameter setting before touching the encoder?
It’s never bothered me actually. But yeah, it is a drawback of the chroma caps.
@@mredrollo I just realized that it probably doesn't matter as Push 2 tells you everything on the screen before you turn anything... haha. So I guess it doesn't matter. Thanks again!
Nice Video! Do the chroma caps work with the touch sensitivity?
Thanks man. Unfortunately not.
I want a hack to play chords with one button

hey, what is that footswitch brand you are using?
It’s the Boss FS-6

Where did u find you AWSOME shirt ?
@spacecatzdesigns
my push 2 wont loud up the LED screen how do i fix it wont boot up at all nothing shows up one the screen now?

When will the new one push 3 come out
wouldn't we all like to know!

It’s a free download. Worth a try :)
mine wont power one what do i do

Have you tried using IPA to remove the gunk you mentioned at the start of this vid?
Beer?
Isopropyl = IPA
Is it possible to use the computer screen display while controlling Live itself? Btw great video!
Yep!
@@mredrollo maybe i missed out something but it didn't work out for me, it only works when live is turned off. Any specific settings i need to do to make it work?
But the chroma caps have no touch-sensitive
Correct 😉
I wouldn't put on chroma caps if it means you lose push-button functionality but to each his own I guess.
Exactly 😉
Push 2 Collective stand up !
Gotta wonder why there are so many screws to hold the cover on. I wouldn't have put them all back in. Four screws max, 2 would be the minimum.
Chris Copeman something I didn’t really want to question!
The guck can be wiped away with a isopropyl wipe.
You forgot to map the game emulator controls to the push
Daaaaamn! Good idea!
Chille out house op spofity
