I feel like sooo many of us are going through planner changes right now! I think there’s so much value that can come from experimenting and I’m glad you were able to find something that makes you happy ❤️ I’ll be here no matter what book you use!
Thank you so much! I agree, so much value in experimenting and I’ve learnt so much! I am also learning to value peoples videos for the way they use their notebooks and not so much which notebook they are using. Hope you are well! Xx
I’m not a Hobonichi person either! I love TNs! The travelers company TNs don’t allow as many inserts as I want, so I love Chic Sparrow! I can fit four inserts and the zipper pouch, which I love.
I’ve heard good things about chic sparrow. I was looking into getting one a few years ago when I wanted more inserts, but now I think I wouldn’t need more than 3 so travelers works for me. Thank you for watching ❤️
I just left my Hobonichi planners I started the year in as well. I didn’t like how quickly the binding split from the pages in my Hon, the frailty of the paper & how there are so many pages filled with stuff I likely wasn’t going to use/writing on the bottom of note pages. I’m in a Sterling Ink N1 Compact (TN size w/monthlies, weeklies & UNDATED ‘dailies’ and a B6 Compact, and I’m using an A5 Stalogy for journaling.
Oh I haven’t heard about the binding issues on the hon, good to know. I also think the quotes take up way too much space. I’m hearing good things about sterling ink but they aren’t easy to get in the UK right now (unless I’m living under a rock) thank you for sharing your set up! Xx
@@Jojournals90 If Hobonichi came out with a Cousin without the dated pages and removed at lest the quotes on the bottom of the pages, I’d return and deal with the fragile paper lol.
I must admit I just started the a6 hobonichi techno journal. So far I like it, but it is also a planner and journal for me. I am curious to see if I start missing my weekly lay-out. Part of me wants to back to traveler notebook but the size always felt a little bit cluncky to me. But we will see what happens! I loved the video, thank you for sharing!
Love this! Same issue with hobonichi and back in my TN. I missed my TNs so much! I love the look and pretend person version of me that uses them lol but I feel at home in my TN! I typically only use two inserts because it’s manageable and I like the way it fits in my hand when closed. Congrats on 1k!
Thank you for watching!! I missed my TN too, it was calling for me 🤣 I used to have 3 inserts but I am really loving the feel of 2, I get what you mean about it fitting in your hand.
I went back to Travelers again when my planning and journaling didn't make sense and it has helped me a lot. I really like your planner insert. I'll try it as soon as I can get the insert! Happy to find you!
Happy to have you! I think travelers is good when things don’t make sense as you can mix up your inserts so easily. I’m glad you are feeling better in your planner now ❤️
Also omg....TN have a moomin edition...? Please don't tempt me! Will be going to the Graphic centre sometime soon definitely~ as a Londoner, I can't believe I didn't know about it, thank you xxx
Oh my you are going to LOVE the graphics centre. And yeah, they have a moomin edition and it’s so cute (but an investment and only available in Japan) but I decided to buy it as a little present for hitting 1000 subs 🥰 enjoy the graphics centre!
Fab video, thank you for sharing your love of TN’s. I have just switched back to standard TN from Hobonichi, I missed my TN’s! Love All things Analogue! I really want to visit.
Aww thank you! We can be “switching back to TN a from Hobonichi” buddies. I went to all things analogue for the stamp caravan last year and it’s so cute. The owners are so sweet, it was like visiting their home. And a day by the sea side is always welcome!
I ordered the Tokyo edition and am waiting for May to open it…I am so excited and want the suspense to last a bit longer 😂 One day I will get to the shop…maybe in the summer!
@@lilylouise4442 I’m heading to london graphics center tomorrow to see if they still have any in stock. I can’t wait! You have a lot of resilience waiting to open yours!! X
The Weeks is the only Hobonichi that has stuck with me but now that Sterling ink has come up with a vertical weeks size without quotes and pink/red weekdays I’m sold!
I went with Travellers as well, but mainly as Hobonichi and Jibun techo weren't in stock locally (and I enjoyed an Appelboom discount on the Travellers so why not. ). Got the Camel one with extra 013 and 018 refill, have to look for accessories as well still
Ugh i feel you on this! I’m a hobonichi gal, and i thought i would use a mega weeks and a regular weeks. I have the flower cover regular weeks and i thought i would use both throughout the whole year but having 2 of essentially the same journal is so redundant 😭😭 and now I’m like why did i spend so much on two journals when i just needed the mega?!
Oh my dear, nothing is worse than redundant planners. I think we both have learnt that the hard way. But at least you now know what you do need for next year! Xx
Thanks for this honest review. I found Hobonichi during 2020 and it was just so lovely and perfect during the end of 2020 and first half of 2021 because I had plenty of time and was at home. But I have struggled with staying in it after the end of 2021 and your comment that you really wanted it to work for you resonated with me. I am back in Bujo but not loving it and I feel too cluttered when I have multiple different planners for journaling, happy memories, and art. Currently just in my sketchbook and Bujo. I have wanted to love the TN system but the only drawback is the books don’t lie flat. Yours are so well done, when you sit on couch do you clip the TN sides to hold pages? I’m tempted to give the TN a try. Just subscribed and looking forward to more videos.
Hello! Oh thank you for this wonderful comment!! I hear what you are saying with Bujo, I need structure on the page to organise my thoughts so Bujo got super messy and overwhelming for me. As for TN lying flat, I think that the key is less inserts (especially accessories) then I find that if you bend the inserts back on themselves before putting them in the cover it really helps. I also use clips to hold them down but usually when I’m on a new page (at the end of the week, my weekly spread will lay flat. This used to really bother me too. I might film a clip on tips for laying TN flat for my next video if that’s helpful!
Hi, Jo and all. Gosh, I have a really dumb question, but it's one I never see addressed. Does the knot on the inside back cover not bother you when you're writing on that right hand page? Don't you have to "write over" the bump?? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
This is a good question! Not a dumb question at all. I have a clear card case with my kitta tapes between my insert and my “bump” to even it out. In my second journal I don’t have this so I can feel the bump and it does bug me. I would always have something between the knot and the insert if that makes sense. Hope this helps! Xx
Thanks for sharing you planner update. Question: I am researching different tech options what brand/company computer or laptop do you use apple, dell, hp? Also if you watch TH-cam videos do you watch on the computer, phone, or maybe tv like roku? Thanks!
I added extra strings to my TN as soon as Frenchy in Focus posted these videos th-cam.com/video/ET2q15_eApM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lQ6DfMA8YATZ5Xho and th-cam.com/video/1f5BqwTFHRE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=r19ZvdPvko8K9tCb I'm able to carry three inserts and a zipper pouch comfortably.

I have to have a monthly that I can add appointments, especially the ones 6 months into the future but I mostly use my vertical week view
You are hilarious hahaha so relatable about that empty habit tracker
Aww Thank you 🥰 I’ve given up on habit tracking, and the world hasn’t ended so I’m all good. 🤣
