Hi, we are Stephen, Jess and little Hunter, a traveling family who spent 2020 self-converting a van before moving in full-time to drive around our home country of Australia. We have now completed our lap, said our goodbyes, and resumed full-time travel before we wait for our second baby to arrive.

As a teacher you should start a home schooling program of your own that you can share with other traveling families! Create a curriculum that can be tailored to your lifestyle! Such a vital resource to provide!

Ireland, come to Ireland, tour the entire island, you're a wholesome couple with a wholesome family, the kids would love it, yes, I know, it's not exotic , but it's full of hidden beautiful places, wonderful food, very child friendly, safe, cosy, and we would love to have you here, especially the west coast, the beauty of the place is astounding.

I love Ireland and it is so beautiful and the Irish are so friendly. My in-laws live in Ireland and love it there. There is so much to see. It is very under-rated. A RV trip would be amazing with the family. Such a welcoming country.

Homeschool Mom of Many years here. My kids were in a Primary School for a few years, and then we pulled them out to homeschool. They are far more social having been homeschooled, as in Primary school they stuck to communicating with 'their friends', as being homeschooled they go out of their way to communicate and meet new children as we are on the go. It has taught them how to be kind and friendly to everyone (on a safe level of course). PS: my LG Washer/Dryer sings the same song. LOL. Please do Norway!

    • @kp3871
      @kp3871 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Totally agree with this! People don’t realize this about homeschooling kids. The most social kids I know are homeschooled.

Yes, also their language skills develop more raapidly being exposed to more adults and other areas vs other children still developing those skills. A teacher had told me becos our children were exposed to so many adults is why they are more advanced in their language skills than if they were soley with children still trying to learn. Kids are little sponges. Also, our kids felt very comfortable in different settings which really expanded their horizons, learning and education. If aa family can make it work, it is a real gift for the kids going forward in their lives IMO.

I’d love to see you do a proper road trip in Eastern Canada. The maritimes and Newfoundland and Labrador. I’ve never seen a travel channel series of this part of Canada. Everyone seems to do the west and the Rockies but the east is its own magical place.

I agree! I did a trip to Nfld in 2017 and it was a week of fun and visiting family but you need a proper couple of weeks to do that trip! Even a month would be an amazing amount of time. I'd love to see you rent a van and travel throughout the French countryside, which is so diverse. There's the cave area in the southwest, the Riviera, the World War II beaches in the north, and Provence. There's the old walled towns, like Rocamadour. I think many Americans (I live in the U.S.) think of France as Paris and maybe the Riviera. But there's so much more.

Do a roadtrip in The Netherlands :) all the other travel channels only visit Amsterdam, but there is so much more to see. And big plus, you dont have to drive a lot, the country is so small. You can also combine it with Belgium and Luxemburg :) and when in the Netherlands, go to the Efteling themepark!

For the class: I would LOVE to know how to research and plan activities. Where do you find ideas? Are there any specific applications or organizational strategies you use to keep track and plan your days? I really love to travel, but often get overwhelmed when there are so many amazing options to pick between. I would also really love to hear more about traveling with kids. This video was fantastic in that regard :)

Whenever we pulled our children out of school to travel, we would get them to write a diary of their holiday as well as include things that they thought were better, worse or just different to their lives back in Australia. We look back on these and it brings back many special memories. As you said, kids learn so much by travelling and I wished we had done more of it instead of waiting until school holidays when things were more crowded and expensive and time limited. One topic I would love to see you cover is how you as TH-camrs plan for your retirement.

100% support home education. More individualised and can be experiential and in the real world with more time for play which is how kids learn best. Homeschoolers i met whose family had active lives involved in community and life, have better social and emotional understanding than schooled peoole. Might be just good parenting. But with good parenting kids can be much better adjusted. Your kids wont be missing out, they'll be having the best adventures! ❤

Australian is different state to state. Prep in Queensland (equivalent to kindy) is compulsory before moving into year 1. Also the age in which children start school varies state to state. There are home school programs that you can register with that help with the level they integrate back into if doing in and out schooling like you mentioned.
We have a school that is very flexible with long travel and we love it.

If you go to Texas, don't miss the Hillcountry, like Fredericksburg, Kerville and so much tubing aand rafting on the beaauutiful rivers of the Comal and Guadalupe in New Braunfels, Tx. I fell in love with those places. Rt 66 is pretty boring, which many seem to do, but it is no longer a main highway and therefore a lot of abandoned buildings, etc. San Antonio and Austin are also fantastic hi-lights.

PS Don't miss New Mexico and Santa Fe and Taos. Also the most spectacular sunsets in NM u will ever see over the unique terrain and flat top moutains and spikes, along with the petrified Forest, Painted Dessert, Navajo reservation and in Colorado the Durango river, Estes Park, Trail Ridge Rd and Mesa Verde- The Cliff dwellers aand their habitat and ruins dating back 3000 yrs and never ever miss the Grand Canyon in Arizona as it s surreal. ;)

Love this! thank you for answering all those questions! I love Stephens idea of making a "travel masterclass". As someone who wants to get into travelling more (as well as hopefully turn it into a career), that would be amazing. Some questions I'd be interested in hearing would be:
    - I hear the number one key thing when travelling overseas to ensure you're not a target for pick pocketers etc is to "blend in"....any tips for doing that as a photographer/content creator needing to carry DSLR cameras and gear?
    - Do you plan your videos and shots in advance or do you wing it?
    - How do you guys plan long trips that are 2+months long? do you plan and book everything in advance or plan as you go?
    - How to approach brands or tourism boards to work with them
    - Travel hacking for Australians (I feel like there's so much about this for people in the US, but australia has a different set of credit cards, and deals to work with so would love to know more about what we can do)
    - List of "must have" things to bring for content creators while travelling
I hope this wasn't too long! thank you and can't wait to see what you guys get up to with precious Koa as you wait for his passport. Crazy that they make little babies get one!! 🤣

As a homeschool mom of 4 your should definitely just full on homeschool, you can do co ops that’s are flexible and then you can create the schedule/curriculum that works for you. Finding a school that values travel half of the year and then school another half of it is like finding a unicorn. You’ll have way more freedom if you just homeschool

I'd definitely like to see a Norway road trip. I'm of the opinion that Norway is the most beautiful country on the planet.
It would also be cool to see you go back to the Netherlands. Last time you only visited Amsterdam, and I reckon you would love other places like Rotterdam, The Hague, Haarlem, Keukenhof botanical garden, Zwolle, and Giethoorn.

Yes I'd love more camper van content around the world!! Norway would be amazing 😍 I'd also love to see a US campervan roadtrip, maybe in a national park :) You should also look into Tenerife and the other canary islands, the nature there is so diverse and they have a very nice climate all year around.

Can you make a video about the dark side of travelling? What went wrong or not the way you imagined. What would you do differently next time etc.? In your opinion, what were the most dangerous places you've been to or is there a place you definitely don't want to go back to? If you are going to Norway I can recommend Tromsø! Should you extend the trip to Sweden... Lysekil is a beautiful place straight out of the Ikea catalogue. The so-called Inlandsbanan is a train that runs 1400 km through Sweden. - The train stops at regular intervals, all passengers disembark and take a short cake and coffee break. It's also worth an experience.
During the Corona Pandemic I also learned to love and appreciate my home country Austria, so I would recommend it. Smaller countries like Liechtenstein or Luxembourg would certainly also be interesting. In general, I would be most happy about European travel vlogs. In the UK there are certainly many small, not so well-known beautiful places (Cotswolds...) you can travel if you are there. - I also watch the videos of 'Suitcase monkey' who lives in London.
