Last year I built the dual band Yagi antenna designed by DK7ZB. I wanted to use it for satellite contacts. The TIDRADIO TD-H8 is the transceiver of choice for satellite QSO's. Here you have the first test I made last week with this setup. I will soon replace my antenna with a lighter version using the same design.

My setup was similar as yours. And on a tripod. Only messed with a little about a decade ago. I think I’ll get back into as I got a 14 year old who recently got his ticket. He has yet to make a contact. 73’s de n5vwn

Nici nu-mi vine sa cred ca ne sincronizam asa bine... Tocmai ce am inceput si eu cu sateliti de vreo doua saptamani, eu receptionez imagini de la sateliti meteo dar tot sateliti sunt :))
Am facut o antena yagi cu 4 elemente pentru 137 MHz, trimit pozele din sateliti pe whatsapp daca suna interesant 😁

I use ISS Detector. It has both free and paid versions. I always use the free one though... watching some ads now and then to get access to premium stuff )). 73, YO6DXE

is this radio full duplex on both vhf/uhf and uhf/vhf satellite. looking for some cheap alternatives

Combined with the antenna yes. Basically you program the radio on the right frequencies... TX on 2m and RX on 70cm... but is important to have a good antenna too and this one seems to do a decent job. So far I am happy with both. Have a look at one of my latest videos where I do some more QSO's via satellite. 73, YO6DXE.
