The Articulated bus or commonly known as the bendy bus are very common to find in Singapore back then. But now they are very rare to find as Single Decker and Double Decker buses will rule the public transport buses in Singapore. Bendy buses started to operate its operations in they year 1996. With bendy buses, this makes a new era of public buses in Singapore. With a total of 208 bendy buses built for Singapore, the fleet number was then decrease rapidly. Most of the bendy buses that we're retired are non-WAB buses while the remaining of them are WAB buses. So what are the possibilities to make bendy buses popular again in Singapore? Well, I got some ideas to make the bendy bus popular again. But some will might be impossible. Bendy buses are one of the most iconic bus in Singapore. It's bendy, very long and can carry more passengers. The Mercedes-Benz O405G were the most popular Bendy bus in Singapore with different types of model of it. But as of 2021, only the MAN A24 is the last of its kind. There are 40 total of MAN A24 remaining. That really a small amount of bendy buses in Singapore. Although there are 3 operators who uses the bendy buses. This includes SMRT, SBS Transit and Tower Transit. But when buying the bendy bus, it will not be a diesel engine anymore. With the aiming of make all public buses in SG to run on clean energy instead of pure diesel by 2040, New bendy buses will be fully electric in the future. Other countries already have their own electric bendy buses. This will help them to make public buses more cleaner and greener rides. But that will only depends on LTA whether they will buy it or not. But as for now, we will have to wait and hoping to see electric bendy buses in Singapore in the future.
What do you guys think? Do you have any ideas to make bendy buses more popular again in Singapore? Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for watching and I'll see you next time. Take care and stay safe.

Well, we can see more bendy buses being deployed on Tower Transit Service 858 that ply from Woodlands to Changi Airport. About a few years ago while I am at Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange ( which is now the new Woodlands Intergrated Transport Hub), I found many bendy buses being deployed on Service 858( which is under SMRT BUSES LTD at that time). It is then that I found out that the bus stops for SMRT bus service 858 and SBS Transit Service 27 at Changi Airport have been lengthened in order to accommodate bendy or longer buses for both Tower Transit Service 858 and SBS Transit Service 27.

You know I've seen three door single buses and also 3 door double decker buses it maybe a good idea as one staircase for going up and the other for going down but sometimes I'm like what's the difference as when it gets too peaked it can be pretty crowded too

Bendy buses 🚌 are Still Reliable than Double decker buses 🚌 in terms of passenger carrying huge volumes of Rush hours of trips and easy faster departing from 3 doors than Double decker buses.
3 door Double decker buses are slowly introduced to change the bus travel mindsets as 3 door buses are still no doubt take less road space and Claimed to be more larger capacity to Bendy buses.
This is like comparison to Aviation Giant Airbus A380 to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner concept in terms of Fuel Efficient and reliable.

Our Singapore 🇸🇬 Roads Can Easily handle any Long vehicles such as Articulated Bendy bus 🚌.
Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR Roads are Not wide enough and not enough parking space for Bendy buses. Especially the Riads uphill mountain passes on Hong Kong Island itself, that are Too narrow.

Tower Transit Bus Service 858 which operates from Woodlands ITH Interchange Station to Changi International Airport uses Articulated Bendy bus services on early Morning and Evening trips as the routes are very busy and height Restrictions of Changi Airport, Cannot operates any Double decker buses.
3 doors Single deck bus are can also be used on the Airport services too.
