My parents doubt my pressure washing business. My dad always said I don’t know if people would pay for that if someone asked me I would never say yes. My mom just almost laughs at me when I say how much I want to make In my first year. She only gives attention to my sister because of her bachelors degree. She doesn’t see success the same way as me. It’s tough but me hearing you say that your dad was doubtful too makes me feel a bit better. Thanks for sharing.

I do the same work and at the end of the day even if the roof is only 12ft off the ground your still taking the risk of walking along the edge and one wrong move its over. I know a guy that died falling off a 2 story roof so, no your not ripping people off especially if they agreed to your price it dont matter if you charge 500 an hour if they are ok with paying you that. Good job man.

I've told customers straight up that they aren't playing me because I'm a rocket scientist, they are paying me for my time and quality. I usually get a good laugh and they come around.
I've also had people scoff at my prices and then phone me back after they have tried themselves and can't do the work.

For a lot of reasons, mostly my lack of confidence, I've hesitated for years going after my dream of self employment and am planning to get after it this spring.

Good shit bro! People don’t realize that there is so much money out there. You can easily make 6 figures by providing a great service and starting your own business. Yes it’s tough sometimes because you have to go out and find customers and yes there is added responsibilities when you run your own business.. but it’s worth it in the end. Also, to those that say “you’re charging too much”, they fail to realize that the customer can always just say no. Lol

I really want to start a gutter cleaning business. I live in Vacaville, CA and it’s full of senior living where I could really help some people out. I’m just a bit worried about finding clients and getting the job done correctly. I have a ladder, leave blower (with a chord), and a gutter scooper. Is this enough to really get started. I know I will need trash bags and cleaning tools.
I see everyone cleaning roofs, but I don’t want to be liable for someone’s leaky roof or blaming me if they didn’t know they had a leak.
    Any advice?

What is a crazy reality is that your family and friends will tell you oh that’s not gonna work or you think people will actually pay for that, then complete strangers support you and so that’s so cool and great business idea and hey come clean my gutters. Strangers will give you more support than those you keep close…….you just have to start, it snowballs from there and you will learn very quickly what is best and works. If you solve people’s problems you will be rewarded for the size of the problem. Learn how to be a problem solver and be the best at it

Well, I was not one of the guys that criticised you in the other video but I saw and read it too and I have to say you did not reply to any of these critiques. They said that the way how you are cleaning the gutters will cause longtime problems with the downpipe. I don't know if that is true since I never cleaned a gutter and since I am from Germany where gutters and pipes look very different. But I would find it interesting to learn why you are doing it the way you are doing it and why it is not bad in your opinion.

Good point, i replied to a few but there were over 10,000 comments last I checked haha. I always take out the big chunks and anything that could potentially clog the downspouts. What does wash down is just dirty water

You could make even more money by offering a simple gutter tune up. The hidden hangers on those gutters are spaced way too far apart. Hangers should not be spaced more than 24". Those are spaced 4' to 6' apart. Very poor installation job.
