- Today gentlemen we are starting a roof and gutter cleaning business from scratch. This is the video I wish I had 4 years ago when I first started. Lots of stuff you'll need to figure out along the way depending on your area, likes/dislikes, and overall business but this is a great place to start.

Started my roof cleaning business in February 2023, studied your blueprint now were on pace to hit our first 10k month in less than a year. What worked for me was just getting after it, not focusing on spending alot at first, just putting in the work, posting a ton and last but not least dialing in those fb adds. Here in Southern Oregon the moss game is crazy too! Cheers man! Thank you for the blueprint!
How do i write u sir?
U got insta ?
First thing, Love your videos, Spencer! Good Work!
I lean against door knocking for one simple reason.
I have never had a sales person show up at my door and was happy about it. I know I only wanted them to leave.
Instead I bought door hangers from vistaprint, and spent an afternoon on the design.
I find door hangers to be less intrusive, and give the owner the option. If they are already interested, you will be receiving an email or a call.
High quality hangers are the most effective in my experience, as cheap or poor looking hangers will be ignored or thrown out instantly.
I show my customers my value by having my door hangers show value.
I would say in a year, I spend 300-500$ on hangers, 4-6 hours handing them out, and see a ridiculously good return.
Not to mention the recommendations from landing that job because of the door hanger, doing an amazing job and being personable.
Next thing you know, that 20cent hanger just brought in 10 customers.
I could talk about this all day, but In the end, its up to you. If you love knocking doors, go for it!
Would love to hear more !
Where are you located?
Thanks for your videos bro. Been doing lead ads and i’m close to my first
$1,000 week, love ❤
Great job teaching men Spencer
Thanks Jon! 💪 gotta pass it on
Love how concise the video was with no fluff....2 questions: Whats that powder at the end youre putting on the roof
And what is the arm attachment on the ladder...
I'm buying the boom for sure especially for $7
Awesome work Claey, Started a window + roof cleaning venture here in Ireland when I watched one of your vids and said yeah, fook it
Fook it 😂💪
Thank you for posting this video! Very informative!!
Hey Spencer great videos. I’m in the midst of trying to create my gutter cleaning business in Georgia. One thing I’ve thought about is scaling the business to the point where I don’t have to climb roofs anymore. Where I’m mostly in charge of marketing, client acquisition, and retention. I want to ultimately automate this business the most I can, and sell it. I know there’s several steps in between. But I’m wondering if this is something you considered. I know climbing roofs is dangerous, and to me it seems smarter to let someone else do the work for you.
If only the roofs here in the Netherlands were that easy, I would easily make 10k a month. Unfortunately, Dutch houses are a lot higher and pointier.
Love your vids greetz from the Netherlands.
I'm from Ukraine and I want to start this business in Vancouver. thank you so much
I gotchu 💪 we have another Ukrainian guy in my Inner circle hustling up here by Seattle he’s killing it
@@SpencerClaeys ?
I love you Spencer thank you !!! ❤💪🏽
I hate my 9-5 and really want to quit. My question though what if theres competition? Companies thats been established for a while? Should i just go lower on the prices?
I love this video
Can you send me a blueprint? Loved the video, gonna take a few months to get set up and put my two weeks in! I live in Wa state !
I got one on my website 💪 roofandgutterbook.com
awesome video, my question is do you leave the small bits of moss that kind of hides up under the edges of the shingles? it seems like you always sweep it all off very easily. whereas even when I soft wash with moss out or a 1 to 1 bleach mix, I still have a tough time getting all the moss off with a stiff short, bristled broom and a garden hose with a jet tip. I'm wondering if I'm doing too much or just need a new approach. any clarification there would be awesome.
Don’t do too much, I like to get 90% with the brush then let the chemical do the rest
Do you have to have an llc before you start ?
I call Heuler. I live in Pompano Beach. I set up my company very recently. You can do mentoring and help me get new work. can you help me
Are there specific seasons to do moss removal from roofs or does it matter? Can you do a roof cleaning in the rain? Thanks
Definitely can still work in the rain, I typically do most moss removal from March until September
Honest question: what happens if a home owner tries to say you messed up their roof and sue you for damages?
Honestly have never had this happen, but in this case I do have business insurance, not much you can do but I also make sure if I don't like a client to not work with them if anything feels off
Take a picture or video before and after
Do business under a limited liability company, adds a layer of protection between you and who/what they would be suing
What city does he live in?
🤌🏼🤩
😘
I bought the book but it didn’t ask for a delivery address?? I didn’t even get a email for the audio book
update ?
@@briantheotter5376 it just took a bit longer than I thought on the audiobook. I got it though and I’m running my Facebook ads now
What do you recommend for insurance
Hi bro. Good job. Thanks
ALERT! Nationwide gutter guards are stealing your content!!!!
Hey noticed you were using a stick to scrape the moss in the sticky spots. When I used to do this I used cedar shake repair slips or paint stirrers. That seemed to work really well without doing any damage. Thanks for the video thinking of getting back into this.
Hi Spencer, If your customer is collecting rainwater, what kind of chemical would you use for roof cleaning? Thanks.
I’m 16 want some money for a car would a service like this work or would no hair a 16 year old to go on there roof
Hy is it legal to start this business without any permissions and certificates ?
Please tell me all the tools used and chemicals lole the powder for the roofs😊
Enjoyed as always.
Hi bro. Good job. Thanks
10k gross seems pretty reasonable if you work hard. But thats like... 50 net.
Yeah not the best
not carrying a business card is interesting, i find it made me look and feel far less legit ahahha honestly grabbing s quick price for them is wise tho. Do you find people are maybe more suspect of you without a card?
Potentially yeah, but I try and make it seem like a very spontaneous interaction, like I just happened to be working down the street and wasnt prepared for knocking the doors ya know?
@@SpencerClaeys totally makes sense and then go for the close after giving the quick price.
How are you going to pay your medical bills when you fall?
Prolly with all the money he has lying around not everyone is poor lol
@@supercooldude824 Thats a plan for failure. When he falls and ends up out of work, he'll burn through that cash in a few months.
@@joho0 yeah but people like him pick up some other side hustle and keep grinding
@@supercooldude824 Go to college and get a degree. Then you can make a six-figure salary with benefits (401k, health insurance, annual bonus, profit sharing, stock purchase plan, cafeteria plan, health savings plan , etc) without putting yourself in harm's way or "grinding"... whatever the hell that is.
Good question!
#1 I have business insurance
#2 I have health insurance
#3 (and this is a big one) I never take risks and am smart about the work.
Added up been doing this for 4 years and have never had any injuries due to work at all
