LF Drumming yeah, i was like 7 when it came out, and it really has aged quite well. Although i thought the graphics was photo realistic at the time, they arent in 2017😂still a great game
Before NFS Hot Pursuit 2010, this game was my obsession. Used to play the hell out of this back in 2009! Just dusted off this game a couple of days ago after not being played for ages. Man, this sure does bring back a lot of memories!
I remember hours and hours of exploring the little Hawaiian Island in all those cars that I could't possibly afford, on my Playstation Portable (PSP). Good times indeed. Loved every moment of it.
Dude.. I made it a mission to get the Xbox achievement for literally discovering/driving every single road. And yes... I indeed achieved it with George Lopez, Linkin park and Coldplay on the radio.. always stoned. In fact if I wasn't stoned.. I wouldn't play the game xD xD
This game is special, tdu 2 doesn't have the same feeling as this.. Same as other newer game too.. I hope they reboot this series.. I miss my childhood 😢😢
Not to mention you can actually look down inside the cockpit, and see yourself shifting gears. Now that’s what I call attention to detail. Most games like Forza doesn’t have that
Ogod, I had such good memories of this game and I thought the graphics were amazing. Coming back destoyed a piece of that memory. Great game though, excited for the sequel!
I remember getting this game back in May 2008 as a birthday gift, i would play this game everyday and would dream of being a millionare with lots of houses and cars. I recently started playing this game again and it has aged very well, very ahead of it's time.
First off, I can say that this would be my dream come true. I want to address a comment on this thread. First, they say that Test Drive Unlimited 3 will have a difficult time now since Forza Horizon is out. I want to point out that this is not true. Even with all the modern updated graphics, physics that Forza offers, I still find the original TDU to be mountains more enjoyable x10. The amount of amazingly fun, vast variety of roadways to run on in Hawaii, I could have fun for days and days, and have. It was not only the 1000 miles of everchanging roadways in the mountains of Hawaii that drew my love for the game (among many other people), but also the specific type of multiplayer that TDU used, which is unlike that of any other game. As you drive, you are seamlessly going in and out of servers, so you always are running into new groups of drivers throughout the map, and are not ever limited to the people in your current multiplayer server you have joined. With TDU, you never have to join a new server, as it will simply automatically transfer you to new ones as you drive (to reiterate). This makes for a very fun experience. Want to keep locked into a server with some friends? Well, you can do that. You can lock in your friends, and it will still then allow you and your friends to flow in and out of other servers just the same. It feels truly unlimited, which leads me to suspect that is why the word “unlimited” is used in its title. Onward now, to cover more of in game play. Some people would be drifting on some small quaint roads deep in the mountains, some drag racing in the city, and some parked at a top of a mountain peak overlooking the ocean with a curving road in front of the lot, as others drifted by. It felt alive, truly. Even without todays fancy tech, I felt immersed in gameplay. Many of the roadways were tighter, and had lots of fun ins, out, and cutbacks woven tightly in the hills and mountains, that all the sudden would open up into a vast escape into amazing views. You would often find yourself going down some long little road and find a waterfall, with some random circle or figure 8 (with varied elevation) track in the middle of freaking nowhere, and it would be THE drift spot for you and your friends for a while, or race spot. Unlike Forza, there were so many of these little great places, surrounded by mountains. You felt like you really were in a vast world full of people that just love to drive (and you were). Even if the physics were a bit arcade like, you still could appreciate the good things about it. On Forza Horizon 3, I look sadly upon the map. I get depressed when I think of how much effort they put into this game, and what they made, when us consumers could have had so much more. I do like the beautiful graphics, but it shortly ends there, in boredom, as I reminisce on the past days playing the original TDU….
I will be getting this for christmas. I have gotten a PS2 from my grandma because she never used it and just sat collecting dust so I asked her if I could use it and she let me have it for free. So she sent me the counsel, two controllers, two exertion cords, and what PSP and PS2 games she had, along with two PS2 orginal memory cards. So then I decided hey let's do some searching for different racing games that were for the PS2 and PS1 so I have come accross and bought Midnight Club Dub Edition Remix, Grand Turismo 4, and Need For Speed Pro Street. All three Games have been really fun. Now I found this one through Amazon and fell in love with it through reviews and what the game was about. Now since I have decided to look at videos on this game I am getting even more excited to play it after Christmas is over.
i used to play it over and over on my psp, yet never finished it because i didnt have a memory card. i didnt know it was on pc, im getting it as soon as i can. Memories
this must be a hell of fun on PS2. I remember just playing this entire days on the PSP and even thought the PSP versión is not the best of the game. Enjoy mate, also Grand Turismo 4 is another very good game of PS2.
squishless For me it was the feel of the controls and drivability of the cars. Something about the first one just completely captures me and I just didn't get that with the second one but I don't really know why.
GTA San Andreas came out in 2004 and this game 2 years later. Imagine if GTA SA also came in 2006 and had this kind of graphics. It would be LEGENDARY!
Love this game! I have replaced most of the cars with muscle cars and other mods. The only bad thing i can really say about TDU1 is that your car does not take damage, otherwise its a great driving sim.
This game has a strange bug where when three cops are chasing you(highest level), invisible objects spawn in the road and force you hit them, thus screwing you over even harder.
I dont have that problem, there are only police cars in row when police chases you on highest level, there is chance that these police cars are missing texture so you ram in them.
yeah its a template for after effects cs4 i use it too and probably still have it lemme know if u still want it. i used to use it (in my videos) but now have a custom made one :) more satisfaction from making it urself than getting a cool one from the internet.
You might wanna check some of the TDU-C sound mods and other vehicle mods. Do you have an online account? I've been looking around to criuse a bit with somebody.
hey guys,(in game) go to car dealer -> chose a car (doesnt matter which one) -> test drive -> cockpit view -> look at the passenger seat -> enjoy the view
bought this game recently pre-owned in mint condition and it's way better than I remember, not so much a driving game as a lifestyle game, way better than TDU2 as well.
This game is pure fucking nostalgia for me. So many great times online with friends in this game.

+FastCarsNoRules220 I still think it's better than nfs hp 2010.
+Eric istooop yeah same here. I'm 23 and I still play it with TDU2 but after the servers closed, they may not make a third.
I used to be so obsessed over this game. Brings back memories.
I remember hours and hours of exploring the little Hawaiian Island in all those cars that I could't possibly afford, on my Playstation Portable (PSP). Good times indeed. Loved every moment of it.
The same for me, it was a joy playing and discover that world... truly nostalgic about it right now...
are these graphics on psp
My childhood game
Dude.. I made it a mission to get the Xbox achievement for literally discovering/driving every single road. And yes... I indeed achieved it with George Lopez, Linkin park and Coldplay on the radio.. always stoned. In fact if I wasn't stoned.. I wouldn't play the game xD xD
I can't count how many hrs I put into this game ... It was obviously a lot xD
@@Davison2005 XD

Can't believe the Xbox one can't run this masterpiece of a game I even still have the tdu disk somewhere
Because its only made for the Xbox 360.
i like the change in intro quality, it looks like I'm getting ready to see a new epic movie, then "Test Drive Unlimited" appears, made in Ms paint
I was so happy when i realised i could open the window
Shaun George u can also open the roof
Immortal Piyush not in tdu1 only tdu2
Not to mention you can actually look down inside the cockpit, and see yourself shifting gears. Now that’s what I call attention to detail. Most games like Forza doesn’t have that
best game ever 😂💪🏼
Hey, we are getting a 3rd TDU. TEST DRIVE SOLAR CROWN
It was my favorite game on my 360 the old memories
Buys BMW, leaves lot and immediately blows a stop sign at 70mph, parks on the sidewalk and leaves. Mighty fine roleplay
You forgot to mention that he didn't use his indicators.
Ogod, I had such good memories of this game and I thought the graphics were amazing. Coming back destoyed a piece of that memory. Great game though, excited for the sequel!
You mean the third game?
Unlimited 2 was released in 2011.
@@ms-terious No, the third one called Solar Crown that was announced in 2019 and maybe would be released in 2023.
I remember getting this game back in May 2008 as a birthday gift, i would play this game everyday and would dream of being a millionare with lots of houses and cars. I recently started playing this game again and it has aged very well, very ahead of it's time.
11 years...

So, how much fun did you had already? I love this game
back in 2006, i saved all the screenshots i could find coz this was the most realistic game i had ever seen.
Crazy Underrated Game and UI.
I remember when I played this game (it was around 2007) it has an awesome graphic. But now looking at it ...
+King Vito Graphic isn't important to me as the game itself is. And TDU rules :)
This game is different from what I remembered lol it looked like forza horizon 4 to me back then
This game was great Arguably better then TDU2
Alex Moore I hated TDU 2 and absolutely loved TDU.
Alex Moore i love tdu2 i don't know what is the problem with you guys, though i haven't played tdu
squishless For me it was the feel of the controls and drivability of the cars. Something about the first one just completely captures me and I just didn't get that with the second one but I don't really know why.

This version of TDU was so much better. Didn't have to worry about licenses, if you didn't have the right car you could rent one..
Its a mod, not the original content.
very good gameplay
