Call at last hand was extraordinary
Would love to have seen Tang's face when Dwan said out loud, "just really feels like you got it," then looked at him and made the call.
I think he got a live read
He was a little hesitated to put a bet on the turn, pull his chips back and forth a few times.
Tang’s river bet didn’t make sense because he bet on the turn as if he made a flush or at least on a draw for diamonds and then he goes all in on the river when the board pairs. If he had a flush on the turn, the board pairing should’ve slowed him down
Got to love Dwan knowing exactly what to do to get in Daniel's head.
He took Daniel for quite a bit lol. Sounds like he did very well this season.

Nothing's changed from the very first season 1 :)
He calls the likely range of things they’re representing. All players do that. He still thought he was ahead, that’s why he erroneously calls in the end.
He deserved to lose that. Such a small stack just smash it in on the flop. Dwan probably calls anyway but you can’t be trapping with an AK all the way to the river…

Worst part is first read is literally on the dot, but he went against his instincts and still fed Dwan money. Called AQ & KQ in both battles against each other.
@@LivinhItUphe only said those hands because those are the hands in durrs range that beat him, he then proceeds to go through a bunch of other hands that could possibly be in durrs range... he's wrong more then he's right but when he's right all the casuals think he's some kind of super genius. Dneggs gets way too much credit for his reads

I ve seen quite a few times over the years Daniel saying first what his opponent has and still go on to pay him off. He should really listen to himself and trust the initial feeling.

Tom Dwan one of the best in Cash games but not so much in big tournaments.
What are you talking about?
Don’t you remember his 2010 bounty bet before the WSOP tournament?
He gave anyone 3-1 odds that he’d win the tournament before it began. They bet 250k that he wouldn’t win the tournament but had to cough up 750k if he did.
He got down to the final table & the final 2 players, but eventually lost to Simon Watt.
He was 1 call away from taking between 9 & 12 million collectively from pokers elite players, the first place prize was 600k to put it in perspective.
If that’s not a great tournament player then I’m not sure what is.
Not only did he get to the last 2 but he had side action bets of up to 3m outgoings based on his own ability.
All that being said; if you’re one of the best cash players then why waste time winning tournaments & bracelets anyway? He’s won more in one hand of high stakes cash games than he’d make if he won the WSOP 5 years in a row.
Until the WSOP organisers increase the prize money, their tournaments are generally obsolete to the best poker players in the world.
Usually the best players in the world only enter big tournaments when their sponsors bankroll them or pay a % of the entry fee, or they’re hurting from a bad run in cash games.
For instance I doubt we’ll see Durr enter many big tournaments in 2024; but I bet you see a lot of Negreanu who’s down about 2.2m over the last few months, Eric Persson whose down over 2m over the last month, and Nik Airball whose down 2m over the last 14 days.

AJ represents Tom Dwan perfectly. Doesnt always have the best hand but makes the most of it. I thought tight aggressive was the best style to win in poker but Tom proves its something else entirely. A great player to watch and emulate.

Confused why Daniel check checked the flop and turn with 10s, Dwan checks the flop and turn so him having a J is prolly pretty unlikely, unless he thought maybe Tom was trapping, but both hands that and the one where it was AK vs KQ he didn't fire any barrels and let Tom get there both times....weird seeing Negreanu plays hands so passively
It makes sense he checks. Only overcarss on the river are scary, any other card and daniel’s 10s hold. So the math says check in this spot inthink

@@Luckyhikes you don't have to. Tom called the 3bet out of position, which means he will sometimes check even with top pair as Daniel has range advantage (although not by much). Also the pocket pair directly below the board high card should often be checked back since it needs a little less protection. Seeing Tom's hole cards, Daniel should've bet, but he obviously can't see them so I think checking back twice generally isn't bad.
Daniel is playing not to lose his whole stack on any given hand versus Dwan, which is a poor strategy.
Daniel would be better off avoiding any pots with Dwan, if he is going to play scared versus him.
He knows Dwan is explosively aggressive and he is playing a low risk style against him.
Basically, he is trying to crawl to a showdown because he knows Dwan is capable of some tricky post-flop plays and he doesn’t want to get outplayed.
At the same time, he’s planting seeds in Dwans head that he can be bluffed and he’s passive, that way when he actually has a monster, he can get some action from Dwan.
