There’s a revival of a tech and startup scene in Rochester just like Buffalo or San Antonio but the cost of living is still low, it’s a great place to live for remote workers, start a business or grow professionally in a walkable, bikable city with almost 0 traffic, even the suburbs here retain that traditional small urban feel
Sold my vacation home on Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes. Taxes and water prices higher than my Rochester home. City services are superb. Trash pick up compares to none. I routinely contact my NW neighborhood office for services. They problem solve promptly. The cost of homes in Tampa is twice that of Rochester. Suburban taxes are high in Rochester, but you get what you pay for if you want your kids educated in an outstanding district. Spot on regarding $150-$200,000 homes being sold by boomers and their children. Fat chance I can find one of those for my son's family in Florida where the economy is ass backwards. Thanks from the Ridgeway/LaGrange city neighborhood! MOVE HERE!!!
Great city & 10 minutes away are the suburbs & another 20 minutes & you're rural. A few minutes & you're at Lake Ontario from each. It's just a preference of what style living that you desire. It's all here.
NOT A CITY AT ALL FOR BLACK AMERICAINS THE SCHOOLS ARE OK IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO LIVE AROUND THAT AREA ,CRIME RUNS WILD ,VERY WILD...IVE LIVED THERE FOR OVER 25 YRS ,NO ITS NOT FRIENDLY THIS MAN IS TRUELY LIEING ..SDRIOUSLY..
They should try asking the people who actually live here (30+)or better yet visit the entire city not just the protected corner. It's too expensive, taxes are insane, the schools for the most part are trash they just push the kids through whether they understand the curriculum or not. The job market is horrendous, the gunshots and sirens every night. Guy was gunned down in the house next door to my friend and I know of at least 4 others in the vicinity. But yeah great place to live. First chance I get im out of this cesspool.

Good Video! Although I disagree with your gas prices stat, it’s on average .25 more per gallon than where I’m moving from.
I lived in Rochester from 2002-2007. It's an extremely walkable community. I live in NC now, and sidewalks are rare here, unfortunately.

I see a lot of ads saying things like "Front desk agent" (for a hotel) $18-20hr. Is that legit or what?
