MMDA Baclaran and Pasay

Follow the MMDA as they operate in Baclaran and Pasay.
Someone recently said the MMDA need to come up with a new plan because what they're doing isn't working. I disagree.
You can already see huge improvements in the areas they regularly clear. You wont ever get perfection, but things are better.
Look at the street they cleared in this video. When they arrived, the road and sidewalk was pretty much completely obstructed by vendors and other obstructions like basketball hoops, freezer chests, pedicabs and so on.
By the time they left, it looked like a brand new road. The vendors were gone. The obstructions were gone. The trash had been taken away. The road had been washed.
So that's the proof right there. It CAN be done and it IS being done. The problem isn't the MMDA, the problem is the local units that fail to maintain it after the MMDA leave.
Even in this video you can see people from the Barangay obstructing the sidewalk clearing team from doing their job and helping vendors leave with items that were meant to be confiscated.

This might sound cold but I think the online sellers will eventually replace the sidewalk sellers.
I can't even buy products in the stores the sari sari and sidewalk sellers purchase the better products so items are always out if stock and hardly anyone has a business license.

And I'm sorry to say that baclaran has got worse again.
It's like all the work that was done before has just been wasted.
The vendors have taken over the roads again, the colorum vans are operating openly, same thing with the habal-habal.
It's really a free for all 🤷 it even spread to EDSA, and no one can handle it.

You will see many vendors in Baclaran that have iphones and other expensive gadgets.
And I remember when one of the vendors was commenting on my videos on Facebook. I checked her profile and saw that they regularly go on international vacations.
People really underestimate how much can be earned by professional vendors. Especially considering the fake branded items that they sell.
