In the last 3 months do you think things got better or worse in Baclaran?
A lot of compromises have been made to give space to the vendors. As you saw in this video, vendors that stay within the approved spaces are not having their items confiscated and they're not being made to roll away.
The reason for the first cart being confiscated is because it was outside of the approved spaces, obstructing the sidewalk and left unattended. There were 3 carts but only 2 people.

As a filipino myself, ito ung toxic trait natin. Gagawa ng mali pero magagalit pag na-call out. It's sad to see them fight for their stuff but it's their wrong. They know it but they still do it. They say things like that while knowing they're in the wrong here.

Baclaran has been neglected for decades. Vendors have been allowed to get out of hand and ruled the streets. Pasay, Paranaque's local government do not exist. 😡
The Local government should help with making strict enforcement of the ordinance.

There are three harsh ways to get rid of these vendors (although maybe not that effective)
1) Destroy the items on the spot
2) Send the vendors to jail (3 days 1st offense/1 week 2nd/etc)
3) Send any people buying from these vendors to jail (maybe not lol)
yes these are harsh but that's the only way to get rid of them and even that won't be that effective in my opinion

and 4) Enforce consistently with partnerships such as the LGU and the Baranggay. The problem is that the MMDA cannot enforce this alone, this has to be enforced also with the LGU and Brgy. But again another problem rises, corruption at katamaran.
5) Kill their families cause it seems they always use them as an excuse
these are not harsh considering the fact that these vendors earn more than the legitimate businesses behind them, and said businesses move out.

We must take note of what these vendors are like the vlogger said they are "professional earners". Yet sinasabi nila na kawawa sila un lang kabuhayan nila, pero ayaw nila sumunod sa batas. malaki kinikita nila jan mga vendors maliit puhunan sa items 300% higit pa ang tubo. kaya pabalik balik sila kahit maconfiscate mga stores nila. dami pang budul gang jan
The reason why the city is far too lenient to violators because policians are benefitting from their votes. This group of people holds the largest family in the country where 40% of their households have 7-12 members which eventually transform into popular votes. So each time the city officials impose any restrictions to foist order, their political advantage is in perilous state. Insufficiently educated Filipinos should be deprived from suffrage or right-to-vote. Illegal vendors, illegal settlers, garbage problem, pollution, crimes, overpopulation, etc all are mere consequential effects of premeditated rights to vote!

Mmda should be more stricter and ignore the bash of being anti poor. Its already hard maintaining a good clearing operation while trying their best to be as considerate as possible. But people just abuse of them being too soft
Jail uncooperative vendors or forcefully remove and confiscate their items. Its been too long Baclaran has no progress of improvement

I remembered when I 1st went to Manila for my board exam, i really thought Baclaran, Divisroia and others are really minor roads or just alleys. Then poof! These are really big roads.
Yes. Big roads but are obstructed by lots of illegal sidewalk vendors. They block the entrance of other legitimate stores who pay for their rent and did proper processing of permits. I know they're poor but there are other ways to have a legal source of income.

The problems in Baclaran are a direct result of what the Barangay and City are allowing. That's really true.

It's being applied for the safety and well being of the population and the safe conduct of traffic and pedestrian's alike fire equipment and many other safety vehicles free passage is paramount for the civil society to function properly. They only clear 10% of illegal vendors goods. You can see that theres alot of them roaming around with their goods waiting for the clearing team to get lost so they can squat there again to sell.
