It is no coincidence then that Classic Starter Weapon Bundle has all 3 of those + pump shotgun and 3-9x scope that fits 300 and 243 for 1969em$ if u wanna skip the early grind.
300 then snake bite In my opinion as an older player, lots of calls needed to hunt everything up close range 👍especially when dallsheep etc is one of the better beginner packs.
Would argue bow is better first allows for them to kill more animals and effectively use towers/stands Also there gonna have to learn how to sneak up on most animals
Oh thank god for this. I needed this so bad. I tried Classic after COTW, and even after the tutorial, I was so confused. My missions must've been turned off because I wasn't getting any money, and I kept thinking everything was pay to play. I'm still a diehard COTW fan, over Classic, just cause I find it so much easier and I'm more used to it... but I may give Classic another try now.

Thanks for making a new one of these. There are a bunch of beginner guides out there but most are dated and not particularly helpful anymore. It's nice to have a new video to refer people to. I'm sure you'll get a hundred other ideas for a part 2 video, but I would start introducing folks to the different items that can be bought. Explain camo, the small benefit it offers, how it only works on certain parts of certain maps, species specific camo, etc. Explain the option to buy other callers, recommend they buy callers for their favorite species or callers that work for multiple species, avoid waterfowl or locator calls early on because they're not very useful. Explain how the bows work, the benefits of them, how you can learn to pick off a whole herd silently. Explain stands, particularly tree stands, how to place them, that you could leave them on the map or carry them but it uses up a lot of inventory space. Introduce the carrying capacity upgrade that will let them carry more. Mention the unlimited ammo upgrade, how paying for it can support the game but probably more helpfully to a new player is that you don't need to spend your gm$ on ammo, you can use your gm$ for other purchases then. Etc etc. You've touched on the important basics here for sure. Perhaps make this a mini-series with each episode focusing on a different aspect for new players.
Im going back through the comments here trying to decide what to do for the next classic video. I had planned on taking a step away from the beginner guide for a week to do a normal hunt, then maybe going back the week after that. BUT I just wanted to say, you’ve listed probably 5 or 6 of the biggest topics I wanted to hit in part 2, plus some other important stuff! I’ll be referencing this comment when I work on that video! Let them know some species take a bit of walking to get to (ibex, bighorn, ptarmigans especially) so tents create spawn points in areas closer to your target animals. Tents can also make missions that spawn a specific animal easier if you place the tent near the target animal's spawn coordinates. Also, once they have additional carrying capacity, they can carry a tent on them at all times to have a mobile inventory if they wish. All good stuff to know! I look forward to watching your next beginner video.
One of my best purchases first was the BOW. Any bow you can afford with in game credits. I also accept all available missions as i hunt, so picking up any tracks or harvesting any decent animal i see will count toward my easier quests.

I played for one hour, and aside from the free deer they gave me, I never saw another animal. What, I never saw another animal. The GPS tells you to go into the water. So useless.
Man do i hope this game gets a remaster someday, Don't get me wrong its a beauty as it is. But with better rendering and graphics this game would be so perfect, could do without the microtransactions tho and maybe a more balanced price on stuff. I hoenstly love that you have to level up skills for each animal and gun, some may find it tedious, but to me it feels realistic and its nice having more to work towards.
I just shot the smallest male fallow deer I've ever seen in cotw, a level 1 chocolate with a score of 63.63, weighing 132.2. Didn't think they could get that small. Its only a spike
Anyone have the problem where the red domes disappear? I'll see them, then suddenly I can walk for 20 minutes and never see another one. Sometimes I'll have my device chime meaning Ive walked over some tracks but there isn't a dome visible. I've tried playing with the settings, not sure what is the problem.

It is a very nice gun though it is not used in missions so can set new players back 10k which can be a lot of grind.I fell into that trap and regretted buying it early. Thing is that most gm$ u earn from missions and consider harvested animals as a bonus.
I played this game in the past on my laptop with a mx110 GPU and it was OK but when animals are over 120M its hard to aim so Having a Good GPU , something like the 1650 GDDR6 the games if way better and a consistant 80fps to 120fps , surprised how I can juts open the game at 5am and then look at the time and its 9am like it was juts 2h LOL this game is the definition of Its to much fun Time feels slow

Just make sure you never waste real money on this game, because they developers are constantly screwing players by reducing spawn rates, lower male rates, and longer spook ranges. They don't want you to play for free, they want your money, and they'll make it hard for you to earn in-game currency. Missions will help to get some money, but it's still going to be major grind, and a lot of people don't want to do missions the whole flippin' time. I repeat, do not spend REAL money on this game!

12:58 It does have to do with tracking skill I believe. If you don't have a certain tracking level, all blood looks the same.

It's a little over average. Go by the CSS(Cross-species Scoring) more than the score if you're unsure, around 60CSS is usually average.

A good way to grind money is to go after bison super easy to hunt all you need is the right gun and ammo
