Pro tip for you. When you finish doing your compounding do an alcohol wipe! Compounds a lot of times have fillers and oils in them that can give you a false gloss especially on boats that are oxidized as badly as that one. It looks like you have cut enough but as soon as the oils in your compound burn off the oxidation will come back. This is why when we as professional boat detailers do a test spots it's important to alcohol wipe at the end.

You got any tips on buffing boats that are sitting in a wet slip? Aka how would you get all sides? I have a customer that wants his sailboat buffed and polished but Idk if I want to take on that task, I don't have a work raft and This boat is. Definitely going to need wet sanding and compounding

Have you ever come across hard water spots that needed sanding? I quoted a boat and had to go to abernet 600 to get them out.

Great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
    Question:
I am prepping my boat for ceramic coating with Liquid Thor.
I have compounded with Level R and Elevate and the gelcoat looks beautiful and shiny, however when I look at the reflection of the sun on the gelcoat it doesn’t look as sharp as the reflections of other things. Is this normal on gelcoat or have I not corrected enough?
I was thinking about going back and wet sanding with 2000 and 3000 and then Elevate.
I hope you understand what I mean with the sun reflection not being “sharp” and know what I am talking about.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
