Pedal Maintenance: disassembly reassembly with loose ball bearings

Took apart one of my pedals to show the loose ball bearings and how you can adjust the tension of the 2 nuts to set the friction of the pedal spin, and how you can also use different thicknesses of grease to affect the speed of the pedal spin also.

Are any of the nuts involved in this process threaded backwards on the left pedal as opposed to the right? Great video by the way.

I have a problem, I can't tighten the external bolt without also tightening the internal one on the bearings, if I don't tighten it it loosens during pedaling......

Is there any way to transfer the internals to a new shell? I got hit by a landscaping truck and it smashed my left pedal, but i am printing a new one right now. Cannondale Trail MTB. Isnt looking promising, but i wanna get riding again tomorrow and have 3d printer filament but no cash for new pedals lol. Awesome vid btw, my problems aside!!
