1. If you hold Up+Right while rolling down the ramp, you can actually launch yourself over the entire level into the goal.
2. There's a 1-UP in each level (including the boss stages), but you can only get the 1-UP in Sky Base Zone 3 if you managed to find (and grab) all the previous ones.

Yeah. It would be blurred, because of the lower quality displays at the time, but when it's this clear, the dithering is exposed. Looks really cool.
Yeah. Super Mario world does that in some stages as well.

Edit: I only tested the Master System version, thank you for the Game Gear insight - I learned a few things there.
Before I watch this, I tested this theory myself a while ago (after seeing the 16-bit version tested) and know what the answer is going to be, but I look forward to watching this video.

The Master System is the original but the Game Gear is harder. Taking them both on is the champ's method. 10/10.
So Sonic the Hedgehog (8-Bit) is all about Sonic getting revenge on Robotnik for no building one of those cool Mechs like all his friends got.

Challenge idea : beat a sonic game (the one you want) while holding right. getting to a boss count as if the act was done
That's not possible. Some levels force to move left to continue.
Maybe not on all games... And the idea is just to see if the levels are possible or not! For example I tried on sonic advance 2 and most of the levels are possible

I think SEGA should’ve put a note before Sky Base Zone that says, “Disclaimer, the following stage contains flashing lights. Viewer Discretion is advised.”
We didn't know as much about rapidly flashing colors, at the time.
You can get the Master System version on PS2 as part of one of the Sonic collections. Sonic Gems Collection I think. Also it was the very first Sonic game I ever played. It was built in to the Master System 2 I had as a kid.
2 things. Its actually on Sonic Mega Collection Plus for Xbox and ps2 and its the game gear version unfortunately the master system versions have barely been ported

The Spike Enemy Looks Impossible To Jump On And Destroy Because Of The Spikes On Top Of It You Would Need To Roll To Destroy It
Gotta be Frank there was a easy way to beat Green hill Act 1 That ramp if you have enough speed and roll down the ramp the game will glitch and take you to the of the act also something similar also happens in Act 2!
I didn't want to risk hitting anything, but yeah, that is a good idea.
Sonic 1 8-bit is not bad, but Sonic 2 8-bit is a heckish nightmare, mostly the Game Gear Version.

It's a shame that the Game Gear version was so much more difficult than the Master System version, because it has a unique "Good Ending" theme (where the Master System version plays the same tune for both endings) and a more menacing boss theme. I will stand by the Master System as being the more playable of the two because having more visible screen space and less crunch makes it infinitely less murderous.

In green hill act 1 U can jump in the slope in perfect timing and U can reach the end of the stage
In the master system version u can make it to the end but in the game gear u'll just land in the spikes right before the end

Yeah, they are really bad to look at, which is why looking at a clean version of the game is tough because the original screen was low quality and would hide that eyesore.

Some of these videos take longer, than others, to make. If I can't get one out soon, I play another game to buy myself a bit more time. It's how I've always handled this challenge series. That and I have 2 other big videos in the works as we speak.

Blue marine ( haven’t played but everyone I’ve seen that played sonic blast has complained about this zone )
Probably any water zone from sonic 2 8-bit ( because of how unfair the game is in general )
