- Hello and welcome to another ArmA 3 list video. Lot's of people have asked what mods I use for realism/immersion, so I've done my best to narrow down my top 15 mods as of April 2020. Do keep in mind since I focus primarily on aviation in my videos that these mods will primarily benefit flyers, however a good chunk of them benefit ground operations as well. I hope you enjoy!

Here it is! Top 15 Immersion and Realism Mod as of April 2020. These are just some of my preferred mods that have enhanced my experience in this wonderful game, and after being asked more times than I can count, I decided to compile the top 15 mods I use to share with you! If you have any you like that I didn't mention and feel they deserve recognition, please comment them below!

My uncle is a US Army Veteran. He served right around the time of the Bosnian war in the 82nd Airborne. He has always been an intelligent and witty figure with a strong head, i've always modelled to be after him in some way. I introduced him to the Old Man mission and some of my unit mods and he was so excited about it. This game can really bring people together and make for a ton of fun. Awesome list, subbed.

This has been my fav game/sim series since 2001. Operation Flashpoint, VBS and Arma. Awesome to see how far it has come. Congrats on the baby and awesome video!

Hands down one of the best Arma 3 related channels, I'd say. The video titled "The beauty of Arma" was fan-tas-tic. Can't really imagine how you find the time with the newborn (congrats btw!).

Honestly its not that hard, I take care of my wife and she takes care of me. As long as I let her sleep after being up all night feeding she'll keep the baby, haha. Its give and take, just like any relationship :)

Firstly, congratulations dad. As a newbie in this game even though I have owned it but not played it since 2017, I must admit that the carrier and hornet learning curve terrify me but you have sold me on at least trying it out. Also new sub 😊

I instant subbed for that beginning speech on why you keep going back to ArmA. I can definitely relate to you there. I lived in the States for about 10 years, recently got back to my country of birth to take care of family and some business. ArmA is honestly the first ever game I got into after moving to the United States for college some 10 years ago. Been always thinking about enlisting, but never got the chance. I played so many games in these past 10 years, and will definitely be playing more in the future. But nothing really keeps drawing me back like ArmA does. In these years of ArmA, I met so many different people and eventually ended up knowing a lot of guys who served in the militaries across the planet - Dutch, Lithuanian, French, German, you name it. I even met a real 153A who taught me how to fly helos in ArmA 3. This game truly is like lego for adults. With all the mods, all the new content being added, this game just keeps on going!

Glad to see the old lady is still drawing some attention, and I hope you get the chance to experience the amazing work that Voodoo and his team have done, getting several of the features that didn't port over so well from arma 2 to arma 3 working again, and several new breaths of life.

I initially had Voodoo’s installed but for some reason it wasn’t functioning properly, so i used an older version for my video not realizing Voodoo fixed literally all my grievances I had, ha. It would be half of the time the Arma Players being pissed about being detected because they run on plain field and the other half being DCS player being pissed about being shot down in seconds. Actually everything would be as usual. Cheers!

I'm currently looking for more pilots in my Arma group that I run with.We're not too big and we're not too small, and I would love to have you on board. We're mostly either AD or vets. And with a playable schedule, so if you're as busy as I am (AD at BAFB) then we understand. Let me know if interested. P.S. I'm showing this vid to my admins who work on our modpack to see if we can get that AH-64D added, so thanks for that. :)

Also for the AH-64, make sure you get the Official Project on the workshop, it has a lot of improvements over the one I showed in this video. The official project one wasn't working when I initially did this video so my grievances with the weapons are no longer there. lol. Definitely worth adding to your mod pack.

I do not use a color enhancement mod, the vibrant colors are a secondary effect of the Reduced Haze mod being used. So like I mentioned, it gets rid of that gray, hazey look and lets your visuals pop like they should :)

Drongo has a few other must have mods too! DCE : Drongo's Command Enhanced, and DEI : Drongo's Enhanced Interface :-D
Adds another layer of immersion with pop up GPS unit that let you control AI, just like DAO does with Air assets.
Not to mention DMP, his map population mod which is INSANELY good, light and super optimized ✌️✌️
Ved Kay I agree completely! I only put 15 on the list, so I went ahead and put the aviation focused one on there since I primarily focus around flying, but Drongo’s other mods are indeed incredible!

I dont fly jets in Arma but I loved flying the helis but got tired of the random game crashes I'd get when flying so back to ground pounding I went hah.
Hah, I caught that Star Citizen jab lol.
I have a similar PC set up but with 32GB of DDR4 3800 and a 1080TI, Arma and Star Citizen are installed on a Samsung EVO 970 M2 drive. Game plays like a champ unless of overkill on AI units in missions.

Do you know of a way to change the altimeter settings from meters to feet msl or even to flight levels? Maybe there's a mod for it.
Also have you tried and tested any JTAC specific mods or addons? I know there's a couple on the workshop.

I sure do, the mod is called Additional Measurements and it’s on the workshop. Once you load the game with he mod, to change your desired measurements you’ll need to open addon options either in the editor or in-game and change it there. It has speed options for MPH, Knots, etc and altitude of feet, yards, etc.
And honestly Drongo’s air operation is one of the best JTAC tools I’ve seen on the workshop, I do believe an old unit of mine used some kind of 9-line mod to give us accurate CAS requests but I don’t think I ever caught it’s name.
Damn it!!! Now I have to get arma 3. Also does any of these mods work with arma 2? Ps big dcs fan here haha! Awesome video.

And no, these mods won't work in Arma 2. Many mods get ported from 2 to 3, but they won't work the other way around.

Hey Viper, congrats on being a father! I just found out your channel some days ago and I didn't even know there was anyone making these videos, good job. Also I wanted to ask if you know how to do a smooth zoom in GCam or any other camera for a cinematic in ArmA 3.
Hey thank you, I appreciate it! I honestly am not sure, I would think if your mouse had a smooth scroll feature that may do the trick. But I don't think there is an option or script for it anywhere. You can try asking that question on the mods workshop page or messaging the dev directly.

Great video and Congrats on becoming a Father. I have three adult children and six Grandchildren now, like ARMA, things get better with age 😉. Like you, only bought a PC to play ARMA after finding out about it some 18+ months ago - now addicted! A variation is used by the British Army (VBS). Definitely like to see more 'Ground Pounder' recommendations from you. You and yours keep safe during this Covid 19 pandemic.
