Red considers but ultimately ignores him in the signature soul-searching implaccable twitch of his mouth, as we watch the forces of good and evil play out across his face, and hesitates long enough for JF's bodyguards to get their sights on Red. Suddenly from stage left in the audience, Agent Keen shows up, and fills Fallon full of very noisy, very bloody, holes. All the protagonists escape unharmed and are well enough to pick up their checks from bookkeeping. Later we learn that the real Jimmy Fallon is being held by the actual real Bad Guys in a scummy basement set that hasn't been used in decades while the one they shot has a JF mask, disguising the 2nd most wanted criminal on the FBI's list, and so on and on and on. I dunno. I play solitaire during the obligatory shootouts in every episode. But I binge watch so the trajectory is probably more obvious. What I like about the show is they frankly allude to actual events that I remember, being Red's age and having grown up in DC with some of the characters and events they talk about. It's basically an intellectual shoot-em-up and I imagine draws a wide range of fans. I find many of Red's soliloquies tedious and tendentious so I tend to skip them but at the same time he is who he is and with ultimate power, always has an audience, as powerful people always do.

He undoubtedly became my favourite actor, the moment I laid eyes on him in black list a spark grew. As the show progressed I just got attached to him(no homo). The show wouldn’t be the same if they choose a different actor to play Raymond Reddington. Raymond reddington for me is the perfect character. Has an amazing choice for words, knows his way around difficult dilemmas that appear, has an amazing voice and is incredibly intelligent. No one can replace James spader

I simply love James Spader! Its his diction and the way he carries himself. The character of Raymond Reddington seems to be very close to how he is, minus the criminal aspect of him. It seems so effortless how classy and dignified he is.

And at :50, jimmy is trying to ask him about his sickness (i think twice by this point), and he not only shifts away from answering but continues on his story.
Mr Spader is just a genius. I love how his real life mannerisms come through in his characters. I’d love to sit in a pub over a wine, or whatever and have a conversation with him, just to watch those mannerisms and listen to his voice. ❤

So that whole Raymond Reddington isn't an act, it's just him being himself throughout the show. And what he did to Jimmy is definitely what Raymond will do which is to bamboozle you and make you feel guilty about it
Love this guy, he can play a role to the point you believe it's truly reality and not just a TV series. The blacklist let me tell you it is the best by far and completely exceeds similar series. Redington is number one!
