      download a teal and orange lut. pump the saturation to 100. you have this look

    • @itstheBMAC
      @itstheBMAC  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Or you can do your own color grading, create your own LUT, keep the saturation where it was, and grade a little warm, FbF.

    I might be wrong, but I think Chromatic Aberration is all about your lens, not camera.

    • @itstheBMAC
      @itstheBMAC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, Kael! I believe you're right. Chromatic aberration occurs when a a lens doesn't correctly line up all of the colors on a focal plane. That leads to the fringing that is seen. I suppose the Sigma lenses I am using now are better than any other lens I was using on my Canon T3i which led me to conclude that the Sony a6500 is better when dealing with chromatic aberration. From that perspective, technically speaking I guess I'm still right but at the end of the day, yes, I believe CA is a lens issue and not a body issue. Hope you enjoyed the video!

    • @tonyb2760
      @tonyb2760 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. It's the lens not the camera that cause chromatic aberration

  • @rafaelgarciacano4329
    @rafaelgarciacano4329 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I may not be right, but i think it also is about the camera you are using, i know you can do a lot with a cheap camera and also you can show an amazing picture if you invest on a camera than can offer more sharpness, what can you tell me about the camera you use for this picture?

    • @itstheBMAC
      @itstheBMAC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cameras with higher dynamic ranges and higher megapixel counts will always be more impressive, but a high-end most certainly isn't required for editing photos to make them "pop" and really look great. All my gear is linked in the video description box. I hope this helps!

    Hi! I find your video very helpful, so thanks a bunch! I have a question regarding exporting. I shot my pictures in RAW and I did some editing using Lightroom in my laptop. But after I export it, transferred it to my phone, I realised the colour just doesn't look the same anymore. Any tips? It looks totally different, especially the saturation and highlights. I changed my colour profile to export my pic in sRGB, but it still looks off. My laptop is colour managed too, so I don't know what did I do wrong. Any tips?

    • @itstheBMAC
      @itstheBMAC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re most likely working with different color ranges somewhere along the process. Unfortunately things get very technical there and I don’t know what your setup is. I would confirm that all devices - your phone, photos, Lightroom, and monitor are all in the same color range - that’d be a good place to start. Hope this helps!

  • @therealcindyrella
    @therealcindyrella 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, Cindy! I use my own Presets and LUTs for all of my color grading on my photos and videos. You can find the presets that I currently have available at BMAC.link/DigitalStore! I hope this helps! More tutorials on specific color grading styles coming very soon!

    CA is actually a result of your lenses not your camera body. It happens when different colors hit your sensor at different times. Better lenses reduce this more.

    So even after editing you would still use an Instagram filter on top of it?
    For the crop how come you don’t use 1:1 for Instagram ? I thought Instagram was a square.
    So the “Instagram look” is just bumping up clarity to 100?

    • @itstheBMAC
      @itstheBMAC  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally don't use any Instagram filters as I do my own coloring and editing. Others can do as they wish, however. I'm just a big supporter of learning how certain filters and presets work so that down the line photographers have more control over the look of their final edit. I don't crop to 1:1 because 4:5 is the maximum crop ratio and has more of a portrait look on the Instagram feed (which can help your post stand out). I wouldn't say the "Instagram look" is bumping the clarity to 100. I'm not sure what you mean by "Instagram look" so I'm hesitant to agree with you there. I hope this helps!

    • @pangtasticvideos5973
      @pangtasticvideos5973 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BMACadelic thank you so much ! I’m curious if you’ve changed your posting times since IG has changed back to chronological feed?
      By Instagram look I mean the super HDR look, where people bump up clarity to 100 or structure etc and it looks unrealistic or contrast and saturation are turned up to the extreme

    Should be called "Lightroom Tutorial for Beginners".
    Aside from very basic and sometimes partly explanations (saturation vs vibration for instance) about what each tool does, there's nothing very professional about this tutorial.
    There isn't a magic calibration formula that applies to all or most photos, it depends on what is the subject, who you photographed it and under what kind of conditions. Thus giving tips such as "I'd usually use that amount of "function", is quite misleading for those who are beginners, and isn't very professional for those who already know that they are doing.
    It's not a bad tutorial but not a professional one nor addressing professionals who want to learn something new.

    • @itstheBMAC
      @itstheBMAC  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video goes into great detail about what each Lightroom setting does and I why I set each setting to what I did for this photo. You are right in that there are no specific settings that one should use for every photo - each photo is different and requires different adjustments. Suggesting that this video isn't professional because of the teaching style I went for in this video, however, is just silly. It's a walkthrough. It teaches a lot of viewers a thing or two about each setting and why one might want to use each setting and what to set it to. As a photography and filmmaking professional, I'm sharing my knowledge. You, as a self-proclaimed professional as well, should understand that. Many viewers have found this video to be quite helpful and a great breakdown of Lightroom, each setting, and why I typically choose to make certain adjustments on my edits. If you didn't find it helpful, no worries, but let's not throw around the word "misleading" about make statements about the "professionalism" of this video based off your photography level and personal opinion. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.

      Hey, PhotoNationAP! This was an explanation of how to edit in Lightroom for those who might not totally know how. I personally use my own presets for my own Instagram posts, but I think it's important to first learn what those presets do!

    • @MrPhotodave420
      @MrPhotodave420 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kudos! I totally agree people should know what they do so people don't think they are just applying a "filter" to their photos when using presets! Good explanation on everything! I almost stopped watching because I know all this but I was obviously wrong because you taught me a couple things towards the end! Good job!
