Japan, Fuji mountain, with Japanese Cherry Blossom in the foreground. It's the one and only most beautiful place to take the last photo. As for ending.
Hey Pete! I love your channel. You've inspired me to really start getting into photography. One thing I haven't seen from you yet is a video about how to practice photography under not-so-great conditions. Like when you can't leave the house, or the weather just sucks, or if your job makes it hard to go to a bunch of cool places all the time. I'd love to see a video that goes over that. You're killing it man, keep up the awesome work! Looking forward to the next one!!
I use Lightroom for all my editing because Photoshop was just too complicated for me to learn. Now, after I watched you add birds to a picture, I gave it a try. Two colorful birds sitting on a microphone stand in front of a beautiful singer at an outdoor concert... a black kitten sitting on a cutout of a cat's head in front of a singer... and a dragon flying over the audience at an outdoor music festival. I was amazed at how real it all looks and how simple it was. Thank you!!!!
I used to watch this guy ages ago and this video just popped up. When I first started watching him I was so bad at Lightroom and I didn't understand a thing he was saying. His videos are so relatable now, it's awesome.
Honestly, i dont know why people take years of courses trying to learn about photoshop and lightroom when you do it perfectly in 15 mins with details. Thanks alot, i just got into this photoshop game and you are an amazing teacher. Love from Etobicoke
hey Pete, I feel you have a lot of followers with about 500-1000 followers looking to up their game. how would you feel about taking a look at one profile a week, and almost critiquing some of their best photos, and how they can improve? it also works as a spotlight for people persuing their goals and trying to become better.
You're kinda my hero rn. I have been pouring over your tutorials for the last couple of weeks, and I cannot even begin to mention how much you've helped me really enjoy this artform (Still and video). Thank you.
Peter, following up to your printing video, I think it would be incredibly helpful if you did a video covering editing photos for printing. Great video as always!
YOU KILL EVERY VIDEO!!! I want to just say thanks you've personally made my content so much better. Thanks so much Pete keep doing what you're doing we appreciate it
Thanks for this video! Today was my first day playing with Lightroom and after watching this, I started feeling a little more comfortable learning more about the program.
Dude, I watch all of your videos, it's been a break of a month and today I landed on this video, trust me your opening brought a big smile on my face, keep up the good work, lots of love from India.
VIDEOIDEA: How do you handle and organize the mass of your data , images, clips, whatever? Folders - Where, How? Bibliotheque - What program? Extern hard disks - which one and why? Questions over questions! Please help!
I started using Adobe Bridge while was figuring out how to use Lr...Bridge is BAsic but intuitive and has direct acces to Camera Raw and Ps. Lr has a little more of a learning curve in my opinion
Hey Peter, I been having trouble staying organized with my photos, could you make a video showing how you stay organized with external hard drives and everything. I feel like you made a video like that but i cant find it lol.
I'm still not convinced the cloud suite is 100% "worth it" for photo editing for me personally... I'd like to see you try to do the same techniques w/ something like Affinity... thoughts?
Tried and used both for a rather long time. The Affinity programs are great for hobbyists. Affinity Photo especially is really good for editing raw photos and you definitely (let me repeat, definitely!) can get the same results with an even better workflow, at least in my opinion. From my experience Affinity Photo runs a lot faster and smoother than PS or LR but it has not the same feature set on the other hand. Anyways, I prefer using Lightroom. Why? Several reasons: 1. I like the lightroom catalog system and it's just so much more convenient to edit 200 photos of a shoot in lightroom than it is in photoshop or affinity photo. PS and AP work pretty much the same concerning raw file editing, so if you prefer using for PS for editing you're good to go with AP. 2. I'm a motion designer so I own the creative cloud anyways and because I prefer LR's approach to editing I use it, that's it. 3. Most of the presets are for Lightroom or Photoshop. If you don't want to use presets that does not matter of course and I don't use presets apart from my own as well but you might take that into concern. 4. I don't think 11€/month for PS and LR is not that bad of a deal. Of course it's expensive and if you do not make any money with these programs or photography you should really think about it and decide whether that's worth it or not. For personally the whole CC is definitely worth it since I use it on a daily basis and make money off it. I would just download both trials and try out what you like and what you don't like about each program. I can't say enough good things about the Affinity programs and the team behind it (their support is amazing, really! never seen anything like that before) and if you think about getting AP instead of PS definitely go for AP if you are a hobbyist but LR vs AP is kind of a harder decision. Just download the trial and mess around with it. If you have any question be sure to hit me up either on youtube, @ynnkw on twitter or @shotinraww on instagram (i'm sounding like a salesman but i just genuinely want to help lol) sorry for any grammar mistakes and stuff like that, i'm not a native speaker haha
Dude, killer response.. thank you! I'll deff give the trials a shot....I think your opinions about both platforms are fairly universal... Either way, thank you. i'll hit you up on the gram w/ and questions (@TomOverChaplin) Thanks again.
I think it is art but you should tell that you edited that photo because it shows that you helped it a bit and wouldn't able to catch the photo like that. For me a good photo is only using Lightroom and the shot. But it is your thing, the most important thing is to have fun.
Hi Peter, I'm a really big fan of yours and, since I don't have any money to pay Lightroom or Photoshop, I was wandering if you could make a video showing your favourite free photo editing softwares . I really love photography but I don't have any sort of budget (I am using my dad' s TEN years old camera to shoot) and I would love to get at your level but I am noticing that no matter what every photographer I look up to uses a bit of Photoshop to make things better. I would really appreciate it! Thank you. LIKE IF YOU LIKE THE IDEA!
This guy is amazing! I'm just starting out with photography and he really helps! With an easy approachable personality, and knowledgable information, I'm beginning to feel more confident and eager to start my photography journey! Thank you Peter!
I've been looking for a video like that since 5 months ! The way you explain things, is what makes you so good ! You could definitely become a teacher bout photography #GOAT
Hey, I'm Brazilian and I watch your videos, they're amazing! I can not understand everything but I strive to make the most of it. Thanks for the videos, whenever possible put legend, your content should be watched by many who do not speak English very well. Sorry for the English.
I thought the tutorial was pretty solid until seeing this part. Made me stop the video right away. Never felt like an honest practice that is in the true practice of photography. If the images are clearly labeled as a composition, then I feel it's more acceptable, but I doubt many go to any lengths to identify them as such.
New to Lightroom and JUST NOW noticed the Profile Correction option thanks to your video. I hit it on a building shot in New Orleans from last month and then I went HOLY CRAP! MIND BLOWN HERE! More people need to know about this! Keep up the videos! Awesome info and always a great to see someone else having fun in Ontario, even if it is the GTA. The northwest is where it's at!
This is awesome. I haven't even watched the video yet but I know it'll be great. What's crazy is that I literally looked for a video like this last night on your channel. Keep it up man!!
Best advice i ever heard was to expose in camera for the highlights as you can recover shadow detail but not blown out highlights. Nice take on it all keep up the fantastic work.
I've been binging on your videos geared towards tips for beginners/hobbyists. And despite that you're a pro, you're content is so appealing, and educational for someone like myself. I've learned a lot from just a few of videos. Your edits to the Alps photo in Lightroom are so simple, but make a huge impact and give an awesome final result. Thanks. Oh! And hello, from NS.
Dude i totally enjoy the way you present your content, you have a kick ass energy, i am an aspiring photographer and will one day be able to make a living from my passion. I take inspiration from you. Keep up the amazing job man!!!
Love your videos, thank you! I always thought if you manipulate a photo, it was not real art, but now I truly see that it is by using the tools you have available to you to make your art perfect.
I completely agree with your photoshop views. I have no problem with people adding stuff in their photos to make their art better. It'd be a different story if you were filming for a documentary or something but just for art to sell or post, I don't see that being a problem.

Awesome video as usual! I just arrived from a trip yesterday and i have literally hundreds of landscape photos to edit. Perfect timing with the upload. Like button SMASHED!
Thank you so much for this! I found your channel and got really interested in photography. But, I didn't know the difference between Lightroom and Photoshop. Thanks peter!
I found your page originally over a photoshop tutorial and subbed immediately. Your other content is dope too but these are good to see in my notifications.
You're only allowed to take ONE MORE PHOTO... ever!!! Where do you take it? Why? Go!
Peter McKinnon Italy 😍❤️ because it's so surrounded by water and sun and land which is PERFECT
Japan, Fuji mountain, with Japanese Cherry Blossom in the foreground. It's the one and only most beautiful place to take the last photo. As for ending.
Top of a mountain. To encapsulate the beauty of what the world is holding.
Somewhere in Iceland - not only is it a home to which I wish to return someday, but the landscapes are just stunning.
Peter McKinnon Mt. Assiniboine because it's so damn beautiful
Thumbs up for your generosity by sharing almost everything that you've learned and for you talent and skills!
Creative North I agree
like those shortcut keys on mac
Well what's the use of a tutorial if you will not share everything that you know?
Trevor Leary Good point! that's why I'm giving a thumbs up! lol
Trevor Leary let me kick your ass!

It was freaking cold that day! But the Porsche's made it warmer 😂

Can you make a video explaining the Tone Curve?
This!
It's not very hard to understand. You just have to understand it and that'll take a while but just play around that helps the most.
But you and Dmitry Litvinov are two different people with different experience levels...so there's that.
My channel has a video. Watch session 2 and subscribe 😃
AppleDLM the best way to learn that, is just mess with it. Learn the s curve. I always use it
I used to watch this guy ages ago and this video just popped up. When I first started watching him I was so bad at Lightroom and I didn't understand a thing he was saying. His videos are so relatable now, it's awesome.

The thumbnail is a complete scam and the tutorial doesn't even start until half way through the video.
I always, always learn something with your videos! THANK YOU! :)
faking birds or anything in your photos is not cool. Don't be fake.
I thought the tutorial was pretty solid until seeing this part. Made me stop the video right away. Never felt like an honest practice that is in the true practice of photography. If the images are clearly labeled as a composition, then I feel it's more acceptable, but I doubt many go to any lengths to identify them as such.
I also think there might be copyright issues if he ever wanted to sell the image to an image library or something
I am super late to the game in discovering your channel, but your sense of humor makes your videos so much fun :)
Thanks for the quick tips on the Mac. Just started using LR myself and still learning shortcuts.
You sir, are the man. Love all the free tutorials.
