hello Hori and Rangi, its good to see both of you out and about , mate by now you must have read heard about this before but i feel i must say something any way , those stainless steel traces are great when you are after fish that can cut the trace , most of the fish you will find have got softer mouths , because of that most of us try to use as light a trace as possible so that we do not spook the fish ,, please consider making a whole lot of monofilament traces made with a swivel attached to 20lb clear monofilament line attached to a single hook of your choice, i personally carry 30 of these (traces) individually in zip lock sandwich bags every time i go fishing , if you dont think it makes any difference put it to the test by using two rods with similar set up but one with wire and one using monofilament , also try using live bait on your set ups like those small mullet or kahawai , not thrying to be a smart trev , just want to see a smile on your faces and more cook ups on your chanel , stay well tight lines and have a good year
Thank you i will go back to nylon traces but have found there are a few sharks here of all sizes they are very good eating 🥣 lets see what happens, i have fished with nylon traces here and not to much to report as nothing caught i think it is the bay itself, maybe to much forestry slash coming down the rivers or something as other people here have told me the same story not much fish here and yet one bay round there are a few snappers to be caught 🐠🐠🐠

Kiaora folks, I find most fish worth catching are " line shy " I would never use stainless steel traces , unless after sharks . Tevs are very line shy, I go down to 6kg and only use sinkers if needed because of current .tight lines u legends .🥰
I put a stainless steel trace on because we never know what one may catch, I fined bities (sharks) have a habit of turning up at the strangest of times in other words most unexpected times lol 😝😝😝
