Agreed. Helping the team is easy and takes a few seconds, yet benefits are often great - one more sentry or teammate living, one teammate closer to the battlefield, more medkits for the medic, etc.
One effective setup I saw an Engineer teammate use on offense was this: He had the Gunslinger, Wrangler and Frontier Justice equipped. He would build and wrangle his Mini-Sentry. Then he'd use that to damage his enemies until the sentry would get destroyed. Then he'd finish them off with the revenge crit. Rinse and repeat.
I am very glad your form of offensive engineering is beneficial to other engis. I can't tell you how pissed i am at gunslinger engis who think they're soldiers, while taking all of my metal.
