Just let citizens be free to choose for themselves.

Wanna be a carnivore, go ahead, I don't care.

Most of the problems we face is thanks to control freaks in power who care not for individual Liberty, but rather rule us with social engineering that does not benefit mankind, but their own egos.

Aw, I was hoping you would reference that mouse study where they compared beef, bacon, and chicken on the effects of colon carcinogenisis. Their bias was that bacon would be the worst, but bacon has the most PROTECTIVE effects. Then they tiptoe around the data and rationalize that the salty bacon makes them drink more water and water is good for you. WELL SHIT, IF IT'S THAT SIMPLE, why don't we have "drink more water" campaigns rather than all this salt demonizing?

I’m beginning to see the light. Thank you for dispelling myths and fallacies.
Feeling great, losing weight and eating one meal a day. It saves me time and dishwashing energy. My bulletproof coffee is my treat and when ‘keto’ channels churn out ‘desserts’ and ‘snacks’ they do not even interest me.
Liverwurst was denied me for so many WW years, I make it my appetizer most days with chopped onions, cream cheese slathered on top and bright yellow mustard drizzled on it. I’ve been experimenting with many processed meats and different fatty cuts of beef. I always did prefer the thighs to breasts on chicken.
Sadly I guess my love of cauliflower, broccoli and Brussels sprouts keeps me ketovore. I have cut down on quantity but enjoy now with butter or cheese, both previously limited.
Have not been down the center aisles of store except for paper/cleaning products in months. Reading labels drove me nuts, easier to eat one ingredient foods.
I feel so liberated and my clothes fit beautifully. Thank you Dr. Berry for showing me the Proper Human Diet!

Then in the 90s the realized that the previous studies didn't factor out smoking, most coffee drinkers of that time period were also smokers. Once the smoking was factored out then it was found that coffee actually helps to prevent cancer. Coffee also helps to lower blood pressure a bunch of other beneficial things.

    So two things.
    (1) Processed meats have a much higher percentage of nitrites than nitrates (while plants have more nitrates) the former of which are more prone to forming nitrosamines.
    (2) Plants come packaged with a variety of other compounds, namely Vitamin C, which help shift the reaction pathway away from the formation of nitrosamines and towards the formation of nitric oxide, which as you mentioned has largely beneficial effects on the body.
    (3) Processed meats are more often cooked at excessively high temperatures, which catalyze the formation of nitrosamines in meat, which again, are already favored to form given the relative abundance of nitrItes and absence of protective factors found in vegetables like celery.
Also, I commented previously that even if nitrates/nitrites and the resultant nitrosamines weren’t carcinogenic, which they likely are after doing more review, we still have robust data linking processed meats to carcinogens - so another mechanism would be likely to explain the relationship even if this one was truly debunked.

My father died from colon cancer. Guess what, he's been a heavy smoker for most of his life and ate a lot of pasta, white bread and carbs in general. He wasn't overweight, actually the contrary, but, if I get it right, that means he was not producing enough insulin to convert all the glucose into fat, not that he was healthy (which obviously he wasn't).
In Italy I've heard a lot of people blaming processed meat like salami, ham and bacon for all sort of illnesses, especially colon cancer, but funny enough they ignore that all these products are usually consumed with a lot of white bread.

We do have pasta, rice, flour and potatoes because they are easy to have if things seriously go south long term. Plus, we can't really know if it will be just us or if we will have others to help out. They can also be bartered. Just make sure to buy what you eat and rotate your supply. Happy eating!

    Yes! Go team BACON!
This makes me happy to hear! I remember my mom scolding us for eating crispy chicken skin!!! I felt ashamed that it tasted so delicious. I would sneak it when she went into the other room to get more peas…. So I eventually learned to eat fries which I thought were gross as a kid. Fast forward to grandma age. Finally I find fries gross again and crispy chicken drumstick skin ‘not’ guilty food! I’m grateful that for some reason bacon seemed to not hit her radar and we were allowed to eat it when I was growing up, along with real homemade butter.

A link for the article? A sausage link? Hahaha. Thanks Doc, you are a prince. I am a chef and I eat chicken sausage and high quality, low sodium, nitrate/nitrite free, all natural/minimally processed bacon, like Greenfield, Applegate and Hormel. My A1C dropped from a frightening 11.9 to a 5.3 in just eight months.

As long as it doesn’t have carbs, I love sausage and hot dogs, and only try to get more specific by getting Beef hot dogs/sausage. Yum!

Every spam or corned beef I can find has 1 gram of carbs. Is that okay?
