Smooth B always made clear statements while Greg Nice rhymed random things. Notice that Smooth B talked about "All Eye Seeing, Supreme Being, knower of histories and mysteries..." showing that he is initiated in Freemasonry.
Just found your channel recently. I think it’s great. Way to be so open minded. So many out there just assume this genre is about glorifying the ills of society. Thus rejecting it w/o even trying to listen. Much props to you for taking the time to try and understand this art form for yourself!
Love this song, my favorite Nice n Smooth song. I'm glad you chose this track. There is a version of this song with more singing at the end that's even better
They invented the feel good, dance hip hop production style, eventually used by r&b acts of the 90's. Greg did a few remixes for Mary J Blige, Smooth wrote for Bobby Brown.
I recall the good ol days when I mentioned I gotta group better than Camp Lo.....Nice&Smooth and u replied "Their Not On My List"... Oh how far we have come on ur Journey 🥲
This track was remixed and reissued two years later in 1990. The remix is slightly superior so recommend putting that version in your car. Next time you react to Nice n Smooth I recommend either 'Sometimes I Rhyme Slow, Sometimes I Rhyme Quick', 'Paranoia' or 'Old to the New'.
Yeah, original video version and even the video version now on YT has this version for whatever reason -- maybe licensing issues(?). Love it regardless.
One of the best rap groups of all time. All their albums are at least very good. I don’t recall Pure Blend ever doing anything other than Nice and Smooth songs
"Dizzy Gillespie plays the sax" has been considered one of the biggest lyrical blunders in hip hop ever since...someone was eventually able to dig up a recording that actually has Dizzy on the saxophone, but it's more likely Greg Nice just got his instruments wrong. :)
Funny, on LL’s Rock The Bells channel on xm radio they have a show with z trip and greg nice called salute the sample. They did this song one day and z trip laughingly called out greg nice over that lol. But greg was like oh no no, cuz if you actually look into it, dizzy did play the sax too! Lol but yea pretty sure he was just covering for himself haha
Hope you had a good Christmas Brian! Was wondering if you could add Sister Soldier - The Hate That Hate Produced to the female list. Not gonna pretend I actually like the song, but it's definitely worth a reaction lol.
Underrated group soooo underrated

"knowledge is infinite, i live in a fortress" is one of my fav lines of all time
One of my favorite Nice and Smooth jams
2pac said a couple lines from this song in the movie juice.
Cool! I'll have to watch for them when I finally get around to watching the movie.
Aww yeah. Loves me some Nice n Smooth.
Sometimes I Rhyme Slow is the next one you wanna check. You’ll like that one too 👍🏼.
Thanks! That's def on my list but No Delaying seems to be the most popular request.
@@ABoomerReacts No Delayin is great. Sometimes I Rhyme Slow is better 😎
No Delayin’ is prime Nice n Smooth. No Bones in Ice Cream is a gem as well!
No Delayin' is going to be my next Nice n Smooth reaction; and I'll add No Bones in Ice Cream to my list.@@walking_on_MARZ

Thanks, Ben! I appreciate that. I was exactly that person you described. What an eye-opener this channel has been for me.
They was tuff back in the day!
Nice & Smooth 🙌🏽
A great group!

I had no idea there was another version. But I rarely know.
This is one of those song's that get stuck in your head. I'm gonna have chorus in my head for a bit.😁😁😁
You're welcome. 😜
@@ABoomerReacts Thank you😂😂😂
I think you should do “ohh La La” by Run the Jewels featuring Greg Nice and DJ Premier
Thanks! That is pretty popular on my list and your request just made it probable to be my next RTJ reaction.
@@ABoomerReacts there are better songs by them but I hope you like it and do more of their stuff

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Next Nice & Smooth reaction: NO DELAYING
Thanks, William! That song is def on my list.

Indeed we have.

Thanks for the tip! All of the songs you mentioned are on my list except for Paranoia so I added it.

I don't get it. Why was it a blunder if Dizzy was on the sax?
@@ABoomerReacts Dizzy Gillespie is mostly known for playing the trumpet.

It's up there with "there's three of us but we're not the Beatles"! Or BDK mispronouncing contraceptive. 😊
@@badbadleroybrown "that red dot on your forehead is not because you're Arabian" ^^
short song and I have no idea how many rap records have used that break beat
I still struggle on who was the better late 80's early 90's group Nice & Smooth or EPMD? I think I would be bangin to N&S hits more.
Tough one.
Dizzy Gillespie didn't play the sax he played the Trumpet. Also I think pure blend was Smooth B and Greg Nice over each other in harmony.
That would explain the name. And I said in the video that Pure Blend's part could have easily been done by Nice & Smooth themselves.
Hope you had a good Christmas Brian!

Sure - I'll put it on my list.
It’s a set up B!😂
Brian, can you react to Party Right by Chubb Rock? It has some nice House elements that I'll think you'll like
Sounds good! I'll add it to my list.
I prefer their song “No Delaying” over this one. Check it out, someday, Boomer…it has a Slick Rick sample!
Thanks, Sean! It's def on my list.
