I yoinked a Live Twin Exosister deck I found and tried it out, and much like actual yuri media, the play experience was very "I have no clue what you girls are doing, but I think we're winning"
Fun Fact: Play DD Crow. Has good matchups post POTE and can trigger Exosister Malfa since shes (for some reason) the only one that triggers when a card is moved from the GY from EITHER PLAYER'S EFFECT.
The crow trigger Martha effect doesn't come up much, you're better running shifter in part because it's a niche this deck actually fills. Crow doesn't even hurt splight if they have Red up

Malfa effects indicate that she ntr-ed elise from stella. Considering the fact that almost all yuri show in Japan have this kind of stuff so expect that she is the cuck one-sama.
Been running supportless Exosister in Master Duel, and Vadis always seemed like a trap you use to respond to someone pulling shit in the GY. Free 2 XYZs, Id always get Mikailis and whatever other ExoYZ helps the most in the matchup.
Only if the deck banish for effect If card banish for cost like PK,Tri Brigade and Swordsoul,you need preemptively Vadis then they can just beat over your board from battle
The big payoff for Vadis is to chain it to an effect that moves a card out of the grave(even something like Called by the Grave) to then get 2 XYZ on your opponent's turn and either lock them out of the graveyard for the rest of the turn, or disrupt them with a banish and monster negate. Unfortunately can't chain to cards that banish for cost, but if playing against a deck that does that a lot it might sometimes be worth it to activate it preemptively. In case they don't touch their graveyard on their turn the effect is still decent on your own turn, you can use it to summon Sophia and Irene to draw and go into an XYZ.
Knowing Exosister can compete gives me hope for old decks that are obviously worse than modern decks, but just happen to have good matchups Vs meta here and there... pls Kozmo, be playable again. Or give us Baby Yoda Konami :)
@@TrevorAllenMD Phoenix and prankids are broken despite the fact that it is don't have omni negate. It doesn't matter having negate or not because yugioh is all about stopping your opponent as efficient as possible. Exorsister can do what they intend to do better than tri.
You dont need omni negates to be meta. Despia ended on 0 negates and was good and there are a lot of other examples. Not being good going 2nd is this deck biggest downside and is the reason why its not higher represented in OCG
Exosister reminds me a lot about the first Dark World cards, where their real strength was if you were playing against a specific opponent who used a certain effect - making players discard. In later waves of support, Dark World got a lot of cards that would replace your opponent's effects with discard effects, making the first Dark World cards trigger their secondary effects a lot easier. I wouldn't be surprised if, long term, something similar happened to Exosister. Maybe something like an Exosister version of Dark Deal.
As someone who was playing in Dragon ruler format (mostly playing in tier 2 because I wasn't paying for a spellbook of judgment) its always funny to hear the revisionist history of "evilswarm didn't belong in this format" sure it wasn't tier one but it got the job done, same as Chaos dragons in trifecta format and ritual beasts in Nekroz, decks that were not as strong but could do one thing that the top tier struggled with
@@goodpeople25 in the case of evilswarm? with a turn one hand set up Ophion to lock the two top decks out of their better monsters while providing protection, it's been years but if memory serves D rulers only outed it through double blaster/blaster+baby and spellbook had to work around the fact they had a searchable lance. all this while being a perfectly acceptable rank 4 deck which was enough at the time

MBT not playing Carpedivem at all really hurts me to see, as an Exosister player myself. It's always good to have at 1 or even 2 for a back-up, it's easily searched, and it has one okay and two very strong effects: your Exosisters can't be the targets of effects from monsters special'd from the graves, when you XYZ on either player's turn you can Prohibition a card that turn, and when a battle is declared involving one of your Exosisters you can pop any opponent's spell/trap. I can't tell you the number of times I've popped floodgates or other threatening backrow on both my own and my opponents' turns, nor the number of times I've prohibited their hand traps on my turn or their key combo pieces on their turn. MBT also completely missed the point of Vadis: you use it either in response to your opponent activating something to move a card out of either grave (this even counts them Calling your hand traps), or preemptively once you know what they're playing (ex. against Tri-Brigade you use Vadis the moment they get one on the field before they use the ignition to link summon). Using Vadis like this gives you _two_ free Exosister XYZ on your opponent's turn to either shut their grave interactions down with Kaspitell and Asophiel and/or put out some other interaction with Mikaelis and Gibrine. Using it after a full round to hard summon an XYZ on your own turn is the much less often used situation.

vadis is rly good as a chain to an effect that triggers the tag outs, as it allows your summoned exosisters to immediately tag out, so virtually it summons two xyz
A fun engine you can add to this deck to Magistus! Playing 3 Zoroa and a handful of the Magistus extra deck monsters (Artemis, Ninaruru, Aiwass, Zoroa, and Vafram) you can use Zoroa to summon an Exosister from your hand or graveyard. And you can also make the Zoroa synchro and prevent your opponent from activating the effects of a certain type of extra deck monster by equipping it with a respective Magistus from your own extra deck. It's quite nifty.
@@_kenemon_ Depends on what they're playing. If deck doesn't care much about the gy, such as Spright, they might still be forced to avoid using certain extenders *cough* Spright Elf *cough*. if the deck heavily relies on the gy, such as, say, Tearalaments, they're screwed.
Game 1 vs Flunder: grabbing Litania and hold on to vadis is the better play here to set up for 4 banishes and multiple interuption + vadis, and vadis + litania combo for 2 banish in case magnifica got raigeki, arment and shuffling vadis to draw is such a waste. Game 3 vs splight/game 1: Xyz into Kaspitel first then search Martha. Martha special herself and elis to make Mikailis. Mikailis search vadis/arment. And then u can make magnifica that way + gozen, litania and vadis/arment which is like 4 more interuption. Deck building tips: D.D Crow and fissure is also a good choice. Crow can trigger martha and fissure is just a good compatible floodgate.
I've been playing the deck for a while, and I'd say that my favourite version is the one with zoroa, since it makes more consistent the 2 xyzs on turn one and providing some utility by equiping the witch (Monster negate) or the glass goddess (MST), with the only downside that if It get stopped you can't summon Malfa, but you always start with her in case you have both. Oh, and I don't know if it's me, but I prefer searching litania in case I get to magnifica, since not everyone knows, but her effect to tag out is not once per turn, so if the opponent tries to stop her you can chain again the effect, and having access so reliably to an xyz summon during the opponent turn makes litania with 2 banish much better
I would also say that the Magistus package is probably the best cause it's a bit more flexible, I even play the big Synchro zoroa in case I get Barriered and play the Fusion and synchro magistus to counter Despia and Swordsoul with it.
I think it would be better to play 3 more hand traps or going second cards over the solemns and side them. Gives you a better chance going second. And Zeus is still an option assuming you don't use martha first.
Malfa is SO GOOD, not only a extender that makes a XYZ without needing another sister in hand, it also gives you access to Elis, which specifies the "2nd best" sis. Really fantastic. Also, if you want to COPE it in MD, you need to run some eh cards like nefarious eater of nefariousness and MAYBE Aleister as a "break the board" plan B.
I might be missing something so somebody correct me if I'm wrong but at 10:18 wouldn't the correct play be to make Kaspitell not Mikailis and search Malfa, which can then summon itself and an Elis (since all monsters they control are Xyz) then make Mikailis and search then make Magnifica? Obviously it didn't end up mattering but that couldn't have been known at the time.
Yes, he misplayed and ended with a less optimal board. He could also search Pax with Mika, then search Martha with Pax and SS. Since he opened with Returnia, either way is fine, but I am sure one is more optimal given his opening hand (not sure which one).
I don't see how it's like evilswarm because if you don't activate any cards in the graveyard like moving any cars from the deck your two or hundred or your deck. it's not going to be very good so if you're going to say have a deck that doesn't utilize the graveyard at all it's not going to do good again it

If you're gonna have a ghost ogre rotting in your hand because you refuse to use it, you might as well play pot of generosity instead. It's at least funnier.
I personally don't use prosperity, with the fact that you run basically 3 copies of each sister and they have a lot of draw and search power by themselfs I prefer to make a very powerful first turn instead of a slower one, so I use the pot that banishes the top 10, I have never run out of exosisters by simply banishing the top, if there are some cards that you really don't want to banish just try to draw them through Sophia and Irene or simply use Pax, Kaspitell, Mikailis to add them to the hand, if you still don't draw them then who cares, usually that draw 2 gives you better chances to survive the opponent turn anyway compared to the draw 1 even if that allows you to see the top of the deck. Also in my decklist I have instead of the 3 gozen, 1 terraforming and 2 spellcaster village because i think in tournaments it would be autowin against Branded and Sky Striker which are very popular, it wouldn't do a lot against flowndereeze but it would stop some of the most annoying cards like the map, still is an uphill battle because those birds don't do shit to the gy usually. Another difference is that in my version i have 2 Vadis instead of 3, with 1 copy of the continous spell instead (is good in the right scenarios because if I'm afraid of a particular card I can name it and have no worries, also the spell/trap destruction can be useful sometimes even if rarely), last change is that because the pot I run is at 2 and not 3 I have a slot free and for now I have a featherduster there (if the first game I go second or the opponent pass the turn by setting a bunch of stuff is useful to remove distruptions and unfortunately by testing online lighting storm is not as good because any time I have stuff on the board be it monsters, the continous spell or the field spell I can't use it and because its almost never in the starting hand I end up drawing it after the use of Sophia or Irene or the pot usually or after a few turns, so at that point is better feather if I have to chose which one to draw between the two).

Elis is free xyz and also is needed for the summon from deck effect of Mafda, Stella is again a free xyz, Sophia is really easy draw power, irene is the only one with little use but still a couple just to have Pax targets are needed. If you don't run 3 of basically everyone (except Irene that is optional, you can easily run 2) you would end up having nothing in starting hand or would risk banishing all exosisters with the pot.

Zoroa is also a 1 card accesscode using selene and halq if you summon an effect veiler. Useful in a deck where you WILL be hit with D barrier

I might be missing something so somebody correct me if I'm wrong but at 10:18 wouldn't the correct play be to make Kaspitell not Mikailis and search Malfa, which can then summon itself and an Elis (since all monsters they control are Xyz) then make Mikailis and search then make Magnifica? Obviously it didn't end up mattering but that couldn't have been known at the time.
Yes, he misplayed and ended with a less optimal board. He could also search Pax with Mika, then search Martha with Pax and SS. Since he opened with Returnia, either way is fine, but I am sure one is more optimal given his opening hand (not sure which one).

I don't see how it's like evilswarm because if you don't activate any cards in the graveyard like moving any cars from the deck your two or hundred or your deck. it's not going to be very good so if you're going to say have a deck that doesn't utilize the graveyard at all it's not going to do good again it

If you're gonna have a ghost ogre rotting in your hand because you refuse to use it, you might as well play pot of generosity instead. It's at least funnier.
I personally don't use prosperity, with the fact that you run basically 3 copies of each sister and they have a lot of draw and search power by themselfs I prefer to make a very powerful first turn instead of a slower one, so I use the pot that banishes the top 10, I have never run out of exosisters by simply banishing the top, if there are some cards that you really don't want to banish just try to draw them through Sophia and Irene or simply use Pax, Kaspitell, Mikailis to add them to the hand, if you still don't draw them then who cares, usually that draw 2 gives you better chances to survive the opponent turn anyway compared to the draw 1 even if that allows you to see the top of the deck. Also in my decklist I have instead of the 3 gozen, 1 terraforming and 2 spellcaster village because i think in tournaments it would be autowin against Branded and Sky Striker which are very popular, it wouldn't do a lot against flowndereeze but it would stop some of the most annoying cards like the map, still is an uphill battle because those birds don't do shit to the gy usually. Another difference is that in my version i have 2 Vadis instead of 3, with 1 copy of the continous spell instead (is good in the right scenarios because if I'm afraid of a particular card I can name it and have no worries, also the spell/trap destruction can be useful sometimes even if rarely), last change is that because the pot I run is at 2 and not 3 I have a slot free and for now I have a featherduster there (if the first game I go second or the opponent pass the turn by setting a bunch of stuff is useful to remove distruptions and unfortunately by testing online lighting storm is not as good because any time I have stuff on the board be it monsters, the continous spell or the field spell I can't use it and because its almost never in the starting hand I end up drawing it after the use of Sophia or Irene or the pot usually or after a few turns, so at that point is better feather if I have to chose which one to draw between the two).

Elis is free xyz and also is needed for the summon from deck effect of Mafda, Stella is again a free xyz, Sophia is really easy draw power, irene is the only one with little use but still a couple just to have Pax targets are needed. If you don't run 3 of basically everyone (except Irene that is optional, you can easily run 2) you would end up having nothing in starting hand or would risk banishing all exosisters with the pot.
