Hey Redeemed Zoomer, I love your videos and I really respect what you’ve done here on TH-cam. I’m non-denominational and my church is actually very different from Baptists (whom I love and respect as well). Just thought I’d post this to say that not all non-denominational Christians are the just Baptists under cover 😅
Kieth Foskey's videos are great. I'm glad you mentioned him. As a confessional Lutheran who went to a Lutheran college (got a good formal education and a good cross-section of other Lutheran kids from across the country) I can tell you that he nails us 100% in every video to how we see ourselves and the others. We do NOT however, simp for the Eastern Orthodox. My dad was Greek Orthodox and his entire side still is, so still involved w/ those folks, too. Lutherans like Eastern Orthodox to an extent because their belief system is very close to ours, and also because they reject the papacy and the extreme veneration of Mary found in Catholicism. So in a way it's a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" kind of thing. 😂 Eastern Orthodox attitudes are the same as Western Orthodox though in that they think anyone not subscribed to thier system 100% is damned and therefore inferior - and they are quick and direct to tell anyone that whether they are asked or not.
It's interesting because here in northern England the Methodists tend to be crotchety old people that are extremely unpleasant or upper middle class people who tend to live very uneventful lives to the point where you often can't find common ground in a conversation Most other Christians up here tend to be Pentecostal who are typically normal people you wouldn't think we're Christians by looking at them
I'm non-denominational, but I'll agree that I could probably walk into any Baptist church and agree with 99% of the teachings there. The traditions and structure of other churches just makes my eyes gloss over for the most part. I also think it's safe to say that people like myself prefer teachers over preachers, and I'll take an hour "sermon" on Bible studies over an hour of "feel good" preaching any day. Perhaps it's just the way I'm wired, but my faith increased by learning more about the Bible and Jewish/Christian history than anything philosophical or theological. One of my friends is BIG on philosophy/theology, always coming up with theories and such, and it's just not for me. I'm a very "boring" Christian in that respect I suppose, but I try to make up for it by being knowledgeable.
Went to a non denominational church a few weeks ago and i regret it, were definitely not alike to baptists (atleast the one i go to),they valued the law to the same standard as Jesus' blood and believed it could save.

I appreciate anything that helps people learn about a variety of religious beliefs and practices. This video helps inform people but in what seems to me to be a non-dogmatic way. I would think most professed “Christians”, if they were to make a similar graphic, would place the Roman Church and the Orthodox churches closest to the center. (Because those organizations are older than Lutheran, presbyterian, anglicans, baptists and methodists?) But here’s a presbyterian using a graphic that places Lutherans and presbyterians closest to the center. Interesting. When my father was born, his mother was an adherent of the Roman Church and his father was Lutheran. During most of my dad’s childhood and teen years, his father was the caretaker of the Hebrew cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania so Dad also learned a lot about the religious beliefs and practices of his father’s Hebrew employers. When my mother was born, her mother was a Seventh-day Adventist. I didn’t learn until after Mom’s father (my maternal grandfather) died that he “agreed” with adventist theology. I suspect there are thousands (maybe millions) of people who agree with adventist theology but decline to “join” the SdA organization. I think, in fact, that there are thousands - or more probably millions - of people who believe Jesus of Nazareth is the true Messiah and consider themselves his followers but who decline to affiliate with any “Church” organization, if for no other reason than that they are opposed to hierarchy, creedalism and dogmatism and they think the word, “Church” implies all three. I perceive that as the “center” of my theological world. If the word, “heretic” means being opposed to hierarchy, creedal and dogmatism, people don’t need to “figure out” whether I’m heretical. I save them the trouble by referring to myself as heretical. Two thousand years ago, the most “educated” Hebrews considered Jesus heretical. Jesus was an observant Hebrew. If you were to combine what Jesus taught while he was on Earth with what the creator taught through Moses and other Hebrew prophets of antiquity, what would that belief system look like? (See John 1:1-5 & 10-12.) I agree with the protestant doctrines of justification by grace alone through faith alone, the primacy of scripture and the priesthood of all believers. I agree with the methodist doctrine that, as surely as justification is by grace alone through faith alone, so sanctification is by grace alone through faith alone - which is why John Wesley called it “the second blessing”. I agree with the adventist doctrine that the purpose of the return of Jesus is to resurrect the people who have died in faith and take living believers with them to the mansions he has gone to prepare. There were several things about this video that will be amusing only to people who have studied a variety of religious beliefs and practices. One of those amusing things is that the chart shows Seventh-day Adventists off in their own little corner with no arrows indicating interactions between adventists and members of other denominations.
Well-meaning hippie Christian: "Hey man, Jesus is like a man, man, but also like, God, but also like a god-man, man." Every church council after the first two: GET OUT.
Zoomer, you know how there’s the 3 transcendentals of truth, goodness and beauty? Well, what do you think of the 3 theological virtues of faith, hope and charity?
I would see Baptists in 4 categories with some sub categories, 1. Reformed Baptists, They hold to Tulip and the 1689 London Baptist Confession and are usually Amillennial. 2. Calvinist Baptist, These hold to Tulip, are often Premilennial and don't have a confessional. 3. Provisionist Baptist, These are the ones that don't hold to 4 of the points of Calvinism; just Eternal Security and are often called Pelagians. (Some Provisionists do hold to Total depravity though) There are some sub categories in this one such as, most Southern Baptists, Independent Baptists and Independent Fundamental Baptists. and 4. General/Free will Baptists, These are Arminian Baptist; that are what would happen if you combined the Independent Baptists with Methodists.
Yeah, the thing about Baptists and Presbyterians is fairly accurate. I think the reasons the Methodists get stereotyped so hard as liberal hippies is largely because of the United Methodist Church, which to be fair is probably its most visible denomination, at least in America, and kind of has gone off the deep end of theological liberalism, at least in the last couple of years.

@@user-Strong.Trinitarian I hate to say it man but us Calvinists responding to Lutherans like that is exactly why they don't like us...
@@user-Strong.Trinitarian I never claimed I disliked Calvinism it’s just that was what I was taught growing up.
@@boredgirl7418 I was just saying that since I was raised Lutheran I was taught more about them being different because of their belief of predestination and not taught about their belief about the lord supper.
That accent really started coming out there my brother in Christ
You have to include the classic Presbyterian minister's description of Methodists from A River Runs Through It: "Baptists who could read."
“If you take this video seriously, you need to be deported to Ohio” well I already live in Ohio soooooooo….. option B?? 😂😂😂😂 this was hilarious though, I especially laughed at the Pentecostal/Presbyterian line! I grew up Pentecostal and have since left that movement and have wanted the opposite of it, I guess I know what denomination I’m joining. 😂
Hey Redeemed Zoomer, I love your videos and I really respect what you’ve done here on TH-cam. I’m non-denominational and my church is actually very different from Baptists (whom I love and respect as well). In my church we have liturgies, benedictions and set apart time for prayer during our service. We also follow the global Christian liturgical calendar, observing days like Ash Wednesday. Just thought I’d post this to say that not all non-denominational Christians are the just Baptists under cover 😅
As an SDA, I can relate so well always clearing up misconceptions other denominations have 😂
Friends?, with the reformers?, oh please... *sips from my wine and began to laugh in lutheran 🗿🍷*
Seventh-Day Adventists just chillin in the corner
In Europe the Lutherans and eastern orthodox have good relations still.
Bro, your vids are so good, but why did u stop the previous way of editing? It was more dynamic
As an north american Orthobro… I can tell you many of us (orthodox) consider Jan Hus to be a martyr-saint.
It's interesting because here in northern England the Methodists tend to be crotchety old people that are extremely unpleasant or upper middle class people who tend to live very uneventful lives to the point where you often can't find common ground in a conversation
Most other Christians up here tend to be Pentecostal who are typically normal people you wouldn't think we're Christians by looking at them
Lmao this was hilarious im looking 4 a church n this helped me narrow it down by a lot
@@YaboyiNathan In my experience, non-denominational and Baptist churches are hit or miss in the respect that they're generally independent and vary greatly from church to church, region to region. When people ask, I just say that I'm a Christian. No denomination.
SDAs casually catching a stray 😂
"Are you two friends?"
Baptists: Yes
Presbyterians: No

Ol Tuvok and Kim.
Works with Presbyterians and Lutherans too
I love all denominations, I have heavy disagreements with some.
“Deported to Ohio”
Love it 😆
I'm so glad I didn't take it seriously! BTW, what about Anglicans and Methodists?
I cant believe I missed the 7th Day Adventists until the very end of the video 😂
I'm 14 seconds in, and I love it already!
We Baptists are NOT reformed. We just corrected Presbyterian theology. 😂😂😂😂😂
Mixed what was good about the magisterial reform with very bad Anabaptist ideas, some of which were considered heretical by the reformers themselves 💀
@pedroguimaraes6094 We have nothing to do with Anabaptists
@@silviomp
Believer's Baptism and Complete Separation of Church and state are both ideas Baptist share with the Anabaptist that were rejected by all the Reformers. I could include Memorialism, but i know that there are some (rare) Baptist with a different view and there was at least one reformer (Zwingli) that shared this belief.
And us Reformed Baptists are Reformed...we just partially agree with your correction of Presbyterian theology😂
Presbyterian is just the nerd emoji denomination when it comes to theological studies
There's an old joke that goes, "Ask a Baptist for money and he will say let's pray. Ask a Methodist for prayer and he will say here's money."
500k soon
Are you open to receiving offerings to the channel? I mean, it's not a church, but you are for sure an evangelist

It would be cool if you put how many followers did these denominations have
We need a Mennonite video
I appreciate anything that helps people learn about a variety of religious beliefs and practices. This video helps inform people but in what seems to me to be a non-dogmatic way.
I would think most professed “Christians”, if they were to make a similar graphic, would place the Roman Church and the Orthodox churches closest to the center. (Because those organizations are older than Lutheran, presbyterian, anglicans, baptists and methodists?)
But here’s a presbyterian using a graphic that places Lutherans and presbyterians closest to the center.
(See John 1:1-5 & 10-12.)
I agree with the protestant doctrines of justification by grace alone through faith alone, the primacy of scripture and the priesthood of all believers.
As a former Methodist and current Eastern Orthodox catechumen, I approve of and love this chart!
Because your new Yorker and just for fun you should rate do a pizza tier list

But can we just take a moment to acknowledge that Zwingli was a heretic and Luther was right to reject him?

@@Luuuuan well, sorry
I kinda give it to calvinists that affirm His spiritual presence
That doesn't necessarily mean that you are condemned though
Yes.
As someone who went from Pentecostal to Presbyterian, this is accurate.
Reformed Baptists:
1. Calvinistic (5-point)
2. Confessional (1LBC/2LBC)
3. Covenental
I like your analysis!
🤣🤣 The graphic. 🤣🤣
So true!! 😳😳😳🥺😦
Honestly I'd say EO usually sees OO as second best.
Yeah, the thing about Baptists and Presbyterians is fairly accurate.
I think the reasons the Methodists get stereotyped so hard as liberal hippies is largely because of the United Methodist Church, which to be fair is probably its most visible denomination, at least in America, and kind of has gone off the deep end of theological liberalism, at least in the last couple of years.
it’s only a matter of time before RX become oreiental orthodox
I grew up in the south where Episcopalians refer to Methodists as ‘Baptists who can read’.
Different denominations disagree with each other because they get their facts from a collection of Hebrew literature that is full of contradictions.
As a southern Baptist, I love and respect all denominations. I do wanna learn more of Presbyterian customs.
I'm a Baptist and can confirm this is accurate
You forgot the part of the 7 Day Adventist
