The Taj Mahal is still white and not changed that much colour..... you even can't observe that it's yellowish or not, only scientific tests can tell that it has changed color in few decades😂..... You can come and see it, I'm from Mathura, the city next to Agra😅

India, Pakistan and Bangladesh werent really a bunch of kingdoms before the countries came to be from the British lol. There were 2 kinds of governance systems under the British Raj, the first being direct British rule and the other being Princely states (vassal kingdoms where the local dynasties were allowed to continue ruling, but had to pay taxes and swear loyalty to the British).
The partition of the British Raj involved only the 12 provinces directly ruled by the British. The remaining Kingdoms, numbering 565 just before the British left, were allowed to choose whether they wanted to join India, join Pakistan or remain independent.
Among the 12 directly ruled British provinces involved in partition, 6 were given entirely to India; Bihar (consisting modern Bihar and Jharkhand), Orissa (modern Odisha), United Provinces (modern Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand), Central Provinces (modern Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh), the Bombay Presidency (modern Gujarat, coastal Maharashtra and coastal Karnataka) and the Madras Presidency (modern Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Northern Kerala).
3 provinces were given entirely to Pakistan; Balochistan, Sindh and the North West Frontier Province (modern Khyber Pakthunkhwa in Pakistan).
The last 3 provinces were partitioned between India and Pakistan; Bengal (modern West Bengal and Bangladesh), Punjab (Indian states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh as well as the Pakistani province of Punjab) and Assam (modern Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, western Meghalaya as well as the Sylhet division of Bangladesh).
The remaining lands of the British Raj were kingdoms, and most ended up joining India, only 13 of the 565 kingdoms joined Pakistan.
Some kingdoms exist in its original borders even after joining India, like Sikkim, Manipur and Tripura.
Others were combined to create a new state, for example Rajasthan was created by fusing 30+ kingdoms that existed in that area into 1 new Indian state. Jammu and Kashmir would have been this way if Pakistan didnt invade it, but now it had been partitioned into Jammu and Kashmir and a separate union territory of Ladakh. Both are likely to be upgraded to states very soon.
The vast majority of the remaining kingdoms were incorporated into already existing states or partitioned between states, like the Kingdom of Mysore that joined Karnataka or the Kingdom of Travancore that joined Kerala.
Other than the British provinces and Princely states, the only other Indian holding was the Andaman and Nicobar islands, which were given directly to India rather than Pakistan, although Pakistan was closer to the islands (through Bangladesh). Pakistan also tried to capture the Lakshadweep islands right after independence as it had a Muslim majority, but India through the Kingdoms of Cochin and Travancore had sent a ship and raised the Indian flag there just hours before the Pakistanis reached.
The idea of India is older than 4000 years, the oldest text in India, the Vedas state that the land between the Himalayas and the sea is Bharat. As per lore King Bharata was the first to unite India hence the name Bharat.
Civilizationally India has been a singular national with a singular religion Hinduism, and the same practices and lore can be found from north to south.
Politically India has had many pan India unified empires in the past. Besides there are many nations out there that have been fractured kingdoms in the past, China and Germany are examples of that.

Inventions: Binary system (basis for computers), decimal system, basis for numerals, trigonometry(sine, cosines, inv sine, etc. ..), geometry (quadrilaterals, ellipses, olane geometry , solid geometry, Pythagoras theorem, Etc), Algebra (linear, quadratic equations, squares, cubes, Roots, higher order equations and solutions etc ), Calculus (differentiation and integration, etc), , power series, basis of Fibonocci series, dealing with infinities (limits), super large numbers (10^12 or more), factorials, spherical trigonometry, continued fractions, Arithmetic, negative numbers, zero (not just the symbol, but the conceptual basis for its usage in binary, negative numbers etc.) , combinatorics (permutations and combinations used in Chandas shastra), solutions to combinations, infinite series, mathematical induction, etc etc. I forgot to mention "Vedic mathetics techniques for calculations...
All of these are just in mathematics, i didn't even touch other fields like astronomy, medicine, surgery, etc.
And all these texts inspired the arabic Mathematicians, who further developed them , refined them, which entered later into Europe opening the doors to modern mathematicians who reinvented everything or some developed new concepts based on existing ones at that time, or some built upon what was existing refining them Further.
I just wanted to give more info on contribution to mathematics by ancient Indians which are not known to many even indians and they keep on repeating that we invented "zero" not knowing what do invention of "zero" mean as a conceptual idea,... Let qlone many Indians totally unaware of our ancient scientists and mathematicians like Aryabhatta, Bhaskaracharya, Pingala, Sulbha, Varahamihira, Bhrahmagupta, Sushruta, Shridhara, and many more brilliant minds and pioneers.
There was a thriving mathematical and scientific community, in India from 1200 BCE (known so far) to 15th century (till full scale invasion and oppression), where people of different times published their books, theories, etc and people further down the time period would build upon this previous knowledge, give further proofs, disprove and improve previous knowledge etc, which took place over 2 millennia. Which is in no way different from modern day scientific publishing and improvement of techniques.
Yet no one is aware of this fact, even many Indians are not aware of it, and they only know about "Zero" that too superficially.
Just go through the Wikipedia page "Indian Mathematics" and read through it. It's decently well documented different stages, different people, different fields of contributions, etc. it may not give full details, but it's still a good starting point to know the basics of it.
The Eurocentric scientific community never acknowledging the contributions of the predecessors continued on to become the representation what we think of science in general perception, in modern times.
Just forgot to include the following in the list: cryptography, multilingual cryptic messages using numerical grids, Algorithmic approach of decoding, decrypting the codes, Efficient knowledge transfer through using minimum data (kind of primitive data compression algorithms), First infinite series to represent a finite quantity such as 'PI', etc...
Being a student of science, and being an Indian, I myself am knowing these details recently which very late unfortunately, and majority don't know anything about it as no one speaks about it or acknowledges them, or just construes everything from ancient India as "religion", "superstitions", "pseudo science" etc.
