For anyone reading comments, that red synthetic clay device is NOT a clay bar. That is the Griot’s Garage synthetic clay sponge, it is much safer than a true clay bar. Plus if dropped on ground you can rinse it off and use it again.
I tried out the new V2 Version of your Ceramic Coating on a Bentley and a Porsche after Detailing them. I must say, I was impressed by the ease of use, while applying the coating. It was super easy to buff off and easy to spot high-spots. It was by far the slickest coating I used and I tried many (10+) in the past few years. I will be ordering a 12-pack soon 🤩
Just for someone new, most of Cerakote’s videos instruct you to wipe the surface with an IPA spray- before coating. Even if you didn’t correct the paint, the IPA/Panel Prep wipe is an important step in removing any residual polymers, silicones etc., left over from the clay lube or soap. Also, pro tip; use two different color towels. This allows you know which is the first wipe off towel and which is the second. I like to grab new towels at least once or twice during the wipe off stage. Throw them away afterwards, it is just best practice. May seem excessive, but it just insures that all the resin is removed, and the towels won’t cross contaminate any others.
Is it okay to wipe off if the sweating happens almost instantaneously? In AZ, in a climate controlled garage at 72 degrees, 10% humidity, it flashes within 30 seconds… Cool to wipe off when “visual cue” appears, regardless of duration of time passed? I ask, for even in the video above (at 4:09), you can see the sweating happen almost immediately..
Ooo, I see a sneak peek of a platinum paint sealant. Hopefully, you can use that as a drying aid! 🤞 You guys need to get away from those sprayers, though, always have issues with them
I saw that too! The old sprayer required you to be too close to the paint to get an adequate spread of aerosolized coverage. The reason I stick with Cerakote, 1: All my firearms are Cerakoted’ 2: THEY listen to the consumer and make adjustments as needed to meet the demands/requests of the market.
I have seen nothing about this and I have seen nothing from Cerakote about this. How is the chemical resistance on this coating compared to the other main coatings out there?
There are TH-cam videos by TH-camr IMJOSHV that do a chemical resistance test and a 7 week real world durability test with Cerakote, Clean ceramic coating, and DIY Detail coating. All coatings have chemical resistance by the way. I've coated my vehicle with Cerakote V2 and it performs incredibly well even after 6 months.
Is the old Cerakote formula still ok to use ( black bottles ). I was sent two kits last fall to try out but haven’t used them yet. Is there anyway I can get replacements for the new bottles as I am planning to coat some cars before winter? I don’t want to go through all that work and use the old formula if it’s gong to fail prematurely. Thanks.
I think you have to have a different type of coating for unprotected metal. I would do some research. There are some great spray sealants that are water activated in the market. I did coat my factory painted wheels with the Cerakote ceramic coating and it performs great!
My go to products in my business . Spray sealant, ceramic coating , headlight restoration, trim dressing all of them are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I have a video installing the virst version and yhe second they both worked for me. Check it out 😄
So i wanna use this for my business but custimers wants to know in years how long it will last hard to sell when u habe 2,3,5 year coatings pleae insure me in estimate how long it would last
I'm just trying figure out how to offer this to my customers.. may just sell it at 7 year until farther testing is done to know for sure in the near future
Check out our other video "I Tried To Beat Cerakote's Pro Ceramic Coating | 500+ Wash Test", it explains why we use the 500 wash test rather than a year rating. Thanks!
I initially tried to get some cerakote ceramic coating to trial for my shop, I never heard back from anyone but given the poor reviews of it afterwards I'm glad I never tried it
Reach out to info@cerakoteceramics.com, we would love to get some product in your hands to try for yourself! Tell them Alex sent you, and I'll follow up with it!
I think the bad reviews stem from their old formula which had an issue with the curing agent not working properly. I've heard nothing but good things about their latest revision for as far as ease of application and durability

Absolutely! Thanks for your input!
I love this stuff! Keep it going Cerakote!!
Besides water repellency and shine, is there any protection like UV, Chemical resistance ???

Absolutely, as long as the coating is fully beaded up and looks uniform across the entire applied surface, then you're all good to start wiping. 👍
You guys should make a ceramic infused waterless wash that can be used as en exterior drying aid and interior maintenance that cleans and protects
Do I need a prep spray or some kind of alcohol before applying the Ceramic coating?
It's not a requirement, however we do prefer to use a good IPA spray before application!
@@CerakoteCeramicCoatings thank you
Use a panel prep from a company that sells coatings and sealants. It's designed for cleaning the paint to prepare for a coating

Good catch! And thanks for the feedback on the sprayer!

@@andrewgavisame, great company and customer service love all their products so far!
What drying towel was that used?
is this good to go on glass?
Yes, but we recommend our Ceramic Glass Coat Protectant👍

Previous video (with black truck) said set a timer for 5 min then buff off. This one says watch for visual cue. Which is it?
Visual cue is the most important sign that the coating has flashed and is ready👍
I think my DIY hobby is about to become more than just a hobby 😂
The guys over at Cerakote UK are great and will definitely be able to help you take your hobby to the next level! Love the R8 by the way👏
I have some high polished aluminum wheels. Will this work for protecting them as well?

Durability on any coating is a guesstimate. They do a 500 wash test on it if that helps.
@@rooboy99 so would ubsayblifetime coating then , if ubwash once a week 4 times a month 48 washes a year that's 10 plus years
