@@edwardcorvinus666 I think they've stated before that it won't because it would be way to big for xbox as well as non-functional in many ways because it's missing the essential features of SKSE. You'll have to get a PC, but skyrim honestly runs fine even older laptops so if you invest a couple 100 bucks you can get a solid rig
They look nice for sure but the massive grabbable handle on the Dwemer helmets isn't functional. Realistically, someone could pull your head down and you wouldn't be able to stop them, or at the very least they could steal your helmet.
@@Zaire82 Plenty of helmets irl had decorative elements, it's like being bothered that a helmet has a horsehair plume. But really, it's such a small thing it hardly matters regardless. It's still highly functional looking armour.
@@LordVader1094 It's really not "such a small thing". I'm not overstating the significance of something like this. Even the tiniest lip added around the eye holes can prevent a sword from sliding right into them and killing you. Helmets are actually a highly complex thing and hair plumes were never common because of how impractical they are. That was something usually exclusive to high ranking officers to make them visible and able to easily show their authority. Normal soldiers usually have smooth, featureless, armour meant to easily deflect or resist incoming blows. Armour is meant to keep you alive before looking cool. A handle like that is exactly what I'd target in a fight. It could very well make the difference between life and death for many soldiers. But as I said, it looks like cool armour and I know it's just a game, so all I'm doing is explaining why it's not really practical to clear up a misconception.
Bethesda always has good designs in concept but they always fumble when it comes to actually putting them in game, a lot of weird, clunky and inconsistent models (some being just straight up terrible), but you guys know how to make actually cool looking and unique designs while stating true to what makes elder scrolls armours and weapons unique, can't wait to see what you guys manage to capture with this remaster, because this is more than just a mod, also not sure if you guys have the dlcs planned or if they are planned alongside the main release but I'd love to see what you do with shivering isles and kotn if they are planned
I think fumbled armor designs were specifically Oblivion problem, at least only in Oblivion it was noticeable enough to put it out as an issue. Skyrim had it decent mostly, imperial armor and soltshiem dlc one's were bit ridiculous, but overall it was good. And Morrowind was more like technically limited I think, models were clunky but designs were consistent if anything else. In Oblivion though it was all over the place. First, some designs were just outright terrible, like glass or ebony or even daedric that is easily worst in the series. Second, everything was either over or underrepresented since you often tried to keep it on the low levels where some types of armor outright don't spawn, but at the same time dremora or imperial armors were everywhere.
If there was a game mod oscars you guys would have just won an art direction award. It's mind-blowing how you managed to stay lore-accurate but still absolutely crushed it and made even the sets that look downright stupid in Oblivion (ebony, for example) look amazing here. Fantastic job!
There is a game's oscars. It's called The Game Awards and I see no reason why mods shouldn't participate, especially if given approval by the original developer and rights-owners. That said, Skyblivion can't be nominated yet. It has to release first.
This is just amazing. I genuinely feel that if Bethesda did a full-on remaster, they couldn't have done a better job making these old armors look THIS good. As someone who considers Oblivion one of their top 3 favorite games of all time, I give this showcase my stamp of approval with 5 stars. 😁
Thats perfection, staying true to the original design while making the right improvements where they were lacking. Cant ask for anything more than that, bravo.
I love all the armors in this showcase, especially the Daedric set. Such a glowup from the original release so so long ago, I can't wait till this project is ready to play!
@@therealikitclaw8124 I think the OG Oblivion Dwemer armor looks odd. Personally I think the original Daedric looks a lot better than the modded one, though. I always play as a Khajiit though so most armors I don't even use because it looks goofy how they make beast races look with a human-head-sized helmet on.
The armor here is amazing! Not only does it look grand as any fantasy armor should, but it looks genuinely protective. The glass and ebony armor look particularly good. Functional, too - you can see mail nestled beneath the plate for extra protection, and the plate itself is positioned in the proper places for maximum protection.
It’s very obvious that these sets were made by people who closely studied real-life historical armour. The details are absolutely immaculate! Those look simply fantastic, pretty solid improvements of original designs. Although, I do wish that they'd keep the asymmetric pauldrons of steel armor - I hear that Italian plate, which probably inspired the original, often had that distinct feature. Daedric armor? that palace guard armor was dope!
has a sort of Varangian vibe to it
i have literally never heard that word before and the very next video that was recommended to me was the trailer for the varangian guard in for honor
