Even if you get a $10,000 ‘scholarship’, it comes to $32k, which equates to +/- INR 23 lakhs + another 10 - 12 lakhs for passage money, board, lodge & incidentals. So, basically 35 lakh rupees for a 1-year course in photography. I remember when I graduated from Calcutta University, the tuition was INR 15/month. Even now, Jadavpur University provides 4-year B.Tech course for less than a lakh. Who says India is poor?! If everyone would have poured this kind of money in India, she would have been a $5 trillion economy in less than a year. India’s loss is USA’s gain.
