I'm 90% certain I recognise the exact Conq you're using as a reference, with the extremely distressed and rusty green paint. Poor thing has been sat in the corner of a field for decades and I'm not sure what is paint and what is moss/lichen any more. Lookin fantastic nightshift 👌
This channel is one more reason to look forward to Friday evenings :D Great work, Martin. About that 25 on the hull: Give water pencils a shot. Easy and very controllable, and you can wipe away any f***kups with water in a few seconds. Once dry, they're there to stay and if you clearcoat them, you're good regardless of what chemistry comes next.
My 8 year old son and I love your videos. He's learning to build and paint armor and figures. Thanks to you I have gotten the desire to get back into building and getting into some of those kits still on my shelf from 20 years ago. Anyway my son Henry is dying for me to put in a request for you to build an awesome 1/35 Sherman scene. Fingers crossed. Keep up the great videos!
Model: Requires serious rusting, weathering, etc. Uncle Night Shift: All your base are belong to us Huge respect as always, I'm an amateur digital and bog-standard pencil-on-paper artist. I reckon you spend more time mixing paints, priming and painting a single model than an average artist takes to construct, do line art, and render their drawing. Therefore, with many kudos, I watch your career with great envy.
I appreciate what you are achieving with your models, although I am around the area of beginner/intermediate and not sufficiently experienced like yourself, what you provide her on YT is easy to see and understand. Cheers bud!
Thank you for this I'm working on getting ready to paint my SD40T-2 and it's got rust showing through. This really is a big help to doing that rust on it your videos have helped me so much with my modeling I've really started to try rusting and dusting my models
Outstanding work my friend. I'm happy to hear you're planning on making a scenery for the rusted-out tank. I'm always learning something new watching your videos. Kudos to you. Cheers.
Hi Martin!! I hope you see this... In an old book I have, there is a picture of a IS3 as a coastal defense artillery. The vehicle is really stripped down, and covered with rust, bird droppings, and a faint camouflage. It is dug in. Judging by the picture, it had been there for quite some time. I think it's an old Squadron Signal book. Have a great day!!! Alan
What I love most about your modeling is how you constantly modify and improve your techniques. I think you should try some aviation modeling and see if there are any valuable techniques you can use in your armor modeling.
Great rust effects. I've kept Tamiya Hull Red and Red Brown around for years. 2 very useful colors. My rusts and factory primers usually begin with some combination or hue of those 2 paints. Very cool effect you made.
Love how this is looking so far. You may find it too late for this, but some actual rust holes in the side mudguards would do wonders as they're very thin and prone to it IRL.
On the topic of brushes for weathering: I recently came across a set of "scratch brush erasers" by PK-Pro. They are handles with replaceable tips with different grades of hard bristles from nylon to wires. Might be useful for those hairspray chipping techniques you mentioned. Although I you could also experiment with making your own from an old toothbrush.
A tip from art school that helped me with my airbrush freehanding is practicing by drawing a square, circle, triangle and cross in a row 10-15 times and then each shape individually 10-15 times. The idea is to aim for consistency and speed, I still do it as a warm up hah!
Sometimes, I really think that Uncle Night Shift will enjoy the building and the painting of a German U-Boot at 1/72 scale, with all the rust and texture
Looks like one of the "flower pots in the Patton Museum Annex. With 5000 gallons of paint you could have shot the motor pool screen from STRIPES. Rusty hulks that went to Georgia with the devil when he moved.
I love it! You should do a video on some modern tanks. I'm working on a M1A2 Abrams kit rn and could use some pointers on how to make it look realistic. Instead of tons of rust, because I know that the US maintains these tanks, I wonder what some heavy weathering and mud would look like.
Love your videos,I really recommend you to use ak interactive microfiller primer it goes very well on pe part and have a strong bond on metal and plastic 🤘🤘
Yes I agree that painting large model is pain in the ... and because I am building only planes in 1/32 scale and I love big planes and bombers the most. I am "enjoing" painting very large surfaces a lot. Right now I am building B-17 and B-25 1/32 simultaneously and its realy exhausting to paint this huege air planes.
Uncle Night Shift, can you please do a video on how you would build an ancient Tamiya or similar kit from the 1970's without using any aftermarket parts. Any extra detail you would do has to be made by you. I would love to see you build something like that and it would make for an interesting video watching you trying not to swear and throw it in the bin. Some really ancient figures would be good for a laugh too!
bro.Thank you for always uploading great videos. I have one question. Before painting this model tank, can the mold be expressed with the grass used in the diorama?
I keep wondering, with so many layers of chipping fluid under the paint, how does the ultimate finish age? I feel like you would get a lo of paint release with time.
It’s always a good day when night shift uploads
basically every friday
...GENAU !!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing more satisfying than watching Uncle Nightshift make rust effects.
This channel is one more reason to look forward to Friday evenings :D Great work, Martin.

I should give the AK weathering pencils another try!
Great video! Would be epic to see tackle some jungle terrain one day, maybe with one of the mini Japanese tanks?
do Ke-Ni. its my most favourite smol IJA tank
or with the new O-I from Takom, stuck in the soft jungle terrain :D
@@NightShiftScaleModels That would be cool with all the rivet details
@@NightShiftScaleModels yes please!
@@NightShiftScaleModels YES! Maybe being inspected by some US marines and with some blue beach resin water.

Love the chipping look! I think that the grayish tones over the rust really gives those areas some depth. Illuminating as always, can’t wait for more!

I’m glad to see the older style of nightshift coming back, it might sound weird to say but I find this style kind of relaxing.
Man, the paint job on that model is psychedelic! I love it it may be huge but worth the effort. 👍👍
You really always make my Friday
I appreciate what you are achieving with your models, although I am around the area of beginner/intermediate and not sufficiently experienced like yourself, what you provide her on YT is easy to see and understand. Cheers bud!
Dude, your videos is almoust like meditation to me. I get so relaxed from watching this and I really love your channel. Great stuff!

Oh yeah!!! perfect timing with my dinner!!! Cheers Mr. Night Shift
5:31 got me laughing so hard my mom entered the room to know what was happening
Man, gotta love me some rustbucket build, I'm very keen to see how it will look at the end
I'm excited to see where this goes. It's always a pleasure watching your techniques and your creativity, you truly a master of your craft.
Absolutely phenomenal as always!
This may be my favorite paint job you've done. Very post-apocalyptic.
Wow, thanks for including ” nuances “. Didn’t know what I was missing
Outstanding work my friend. I'm happy to hear you're planning on making a scenery for the rusted-out tank. I'm always learning something new watching your videos. Kudos to you. Cheers.
Finally friday again! And best of all, Night Shift uploaded!
Finally I've reached this level of involvment when I am saying 'Mah freends' at the same time with Martin

Yeh, its Friday, the work day is almost done, and Uncle Nightshift uploaded a new video. Great way to end the week👍
A chocolate Easter tank! Mmmmmm! Also, the chipping fluid as an "undo layer" is brilliant!
What I love most about your modeling is how you constantly modify and improve your techniques. I think you should try some aviation modeling and see if there are any valuable techniques you can use in your armor modeling.
My day is made as soon as i hear that good oll “Mu Friends”
Great rust effects. I've kept Tamiya Hull Red and Red Brown around for years. 2 very useful colors. My rusts and factory primers usually begin with some combination or hue of those 2 paints. Very cool effect you made.
After the crazy week I had this is what I needed to end on a good note!!! Looks sooo amazing!!!
I've noticed that the "Muh friends" is delivered with increasing impact every week 😂
Just outstanding attention to detail as always fella 👍🏻

this video made my day, keep up the great work man!

Looks awesome. Loved the “dead meat” spray job. Great work
Thank you for the inspirational video. Really would like you to see building an 1:16 model. Would be nice to see how much detail you could add there.
Excellent as always. Thanks for your videos
i love when nightshift uploads
Something about that graffiti on the rear of the tank just hits different. Awesome job Martin!
Yay! Night shift uploaded! I just sprained my ankle today so I need something to watch
Octopus stand! Simply the best buy I ever made!,
From where in the uk

It would be crazy fun to see what you can do with a tank from Warhammer!
Or paint a real life tank in a Warhammer theme! Blood Angels Sherman? Chaos Panzer??
The variety of armor finishes you are capable of reproducing is astounding 😃
Thanks Uncle Night Shift ❤️
I really like the lines of this Tank for some reason.
Good job Night Shift
You are legend! Specially this "ma friends!"
You are so talented! I could never make such a beauty!
Very cool effects.
Always look forward to your videos.

Wow epic rust! Thanks I needed this👍
It looks so good now ! Keep on with your amazing work !
Omg, that's gorgeous!! 👏👏👏

First class work as always!😍😍
The biggest model I’ve painted is a monogram Patton, though I am thinking on getting a Revell B-17
You should do a burnt out / destroyed BTR-90 that would allow you to do a ton of burnt and rusty colors.
Very nice paint job 👍
Hey Uncle night shift! Have you considered doing a video on the mig ammo U-RUST Products? Super fun!
Brilliant - unique presentation, thanks
Beautiful entropy!!!!
Night Shift the rust master!
Beautiful work, it's amazing 👏 👌

a night shift video is already good on its own but one on my birthday is better!
Martin, I like to use ammo u-rust. I find it is a fantastic product.
Хорошая работа и интересная покраска. Как я понимаю, прототип является полной фантазией автора? Но выглядит отлично, даже в таком виде
I stumbled upon your channel and your content is very entertaining and interesting
Can't wait to see the rest. Seriously considering contributing to Patreon. Your vids are in the 1%.
Ever tried adding some bronze to the hull red to give it that slight metalic feeling?
Awesome work!
Thank you
I definitely prefer the longer series!
Hey Night Shift !! did you ever think about detailing a 40k miniature lets say leman russ battle tank I'm so curious what you could do with that
This is fine art, I hope you realize that.
Professional as always...
Rockin’ the Art as You Always Are :)
How about using Vallejo texture paint for a quick CRUSTY rust as a base for painting
this is first time when I finally go happy to my night shift.
Those markings are so awesome, I'd love to try them on a model one day
Btw nice job as always 👌
you can draw coasters for painting the model .I want to make one
SUPERB ...just so enjoy your videos. i'd go as far as saying you inspired me to get back into modelling. OH LA LA. lol...Nice one Ma'freind :-p
Wow model! Thank you for sharing!
The Prodigal Son has uploaded!
Pecka..... Fakt, na první pohled pecka, díky za hezký model. M.

this thing is just awesome
you should make a video where you try to build a small model with only really basic modelling supplies as a sort of challenge
I think if you add some hitting points as a target practice tank...
Top up of matte varnish is on its way buddy! 🤗
wait... VMS has a TH-cam channel?!
Great Video again. And I always want to make Progress fast, so I think I would try Out this technique on the smallest model I can find 😂😂
Another great vid............... 👍👍🙂
