I enjoyed their first album as they entered the scene with this harder sound but it was evident by the second album they suffered the same issues as many of the 80s bands did which is they catered to the lowest common dominator. Shit like Nookie and just the general vibe of the band left them a ticking time bomb for being dated like tribal tattoos as they keep getting more ridiculous. Fred sound like a much cooler guy in interviews than his persona was..

People just simply enjoying their lives and living in the moment. Doesnt exist anymore and it is really sad

I flat out asked him what a band similar to Limp Bizkit could bring home a tour and he looked at me and said “about $800,000 a tour per member”. I took it he was insinuating that’s about what he was bringing in per tour with Limp Bizkit. This band was on top of the world at their height and was significant in the turning of music.

Once the original LB formula started to change, that’s when things shifted - for better or worse. Fred Durst may get a bad rap from a lot of musicians and media critics, but the fact is there was a time where he was idolized by a lot of people, mainly for being unafraid to tell the world who he was and what he stood for. Fred is and always will be an original character in the music scene He was the very definition of someone who didn’t give a fuck... I admire people with similar traits.
