Just want to say that especially for first time moms the pushing stage can actually go up to about 4 hours. 30 minutes is actually really quick. It also helps to go faster if she doesn’t have an epidural, because often times the epidural can interfere with that sensation of knowing when to push. When that happens moms need to be coached by the nurses and doctor when to push. They look at the monitor to be able to tell when a contraction is happening and that’s when mom needs to push.
Dude thank you for making this. There’s so little content out there from a dad’s perspective and this was super helpful. My first is due in less than 3 months and I couldn’t be more excited.
I’m a momma to be. Have our first baby boy in august. I’m here just finding videos for my husband. You did great. He’ll be watching this. Thanks so much 💙
This is the best informative video for dads to be that I could find. Will be showing this to my s.o so he's a little more prepared for when baby comes!
The go-to video for the first time parents about their Delivery Day expectation. I can imagine the setup while you're describing from your experience. Thank God I found your video and It's indeed helpful for me to support my wife as we're inducing later today. Thanks bunch!! Stay blessed and safe.
HAHA “it’s almost like your wife is possessed” You did awesome and I’m sure you were a great birth partner! My husband will appreciate you speaking his language and we’re attempting natural, too, so he’ll be glad to know to definitely bring his holy water. 😂🤞🏼
Thanks for making this from the dad perspective. All the other videos are from women, which isn't a bad deal, but I have been looking for something my husband could really relate to. This our second and I think he'll really appreciate the dad side. Thank you!
Vitamin k is not given to boost the babies immunity. It is given to prevent serious bleeds from occurring. Not all babies have serious bleeds due to vitamin k deficiency, however, it is still recommended to be given as prophylaxis.
Thank you for sharing, Kirk. My wife is due in 8 days and we have done some considerable prep for the baby around the house and now I’m just wondering how I can be supportive at the hospital. And not pass out!
That k you for the video😁 one bit we do is Wait until the cord stops pulsating then blood won't be everywhere when cutting the cord. Also women will often get the shakes and feel super weak in the arms right after baby comes out so support her if she asks or anyway just in case. And feed her whatever she eats first she will be stuck craving for weeks and months to come or snake sure it's healthy and you will be able to sustain purchasing the same meal day in an day out. Hint hint that's why Chick-fil-A gets so much mommy business they offer free hospital delivery meals to moms in some areas.
Thanks for the video, we are expecting our first child Jan 5th. Getting very close to go time. For me I'm trying to absorb as much info as I can whether it's on preparing, making sure everything is packed in our respective go bags. Thankfully my wife's employer is having her start working from home starting tomorrow. I was very relieved to hear that she has a fairly long and stressful commute each day. Anything at this point to relieve stress for her is a win in my book.

Great video & I shared with my husband. One correction I need to make os that the eye ointment & Vit K shot isn’t for the babies immune system. The ointment is to prevent blindness if the mom has an STD & the Vit K shot is to help the baby with blood clotting capabilities since babies don’t develop their own for 7 days. You can decline these if you feel they aren’t necessary for you & your baby. 👍🏼
In some states the ointment is mandatory (not sure about vitamin k though) so you might not be able to decline it. It’s not harmful though and a cheap solution from a public health perspective to avoid blindness in infants, so really not much reason to decline it.
Thank you for the information, we have our first child coming in august and it has been hard to find a description of the labor process from a fathers perspective like what you gave here. It also feels like you wife is holding a gun to your head during this video lol
Spoke too soon. That look on your face was revisiting the difficulty and pain of your wife. Once you got to the delivery and your child coming out, your joy and happiness opened on your face.Thank you.
You see I hate seeing people go though pain I’m one of the people that would help in no matter what I’d do I’m 18 and same with my gf but OTHER FYI her water broke we timed contactsons and they where at 6 min then went up to ten and to 18 and back to 5 they had to Induse her and her epidural failed… idk if I want any more my heart could not take it took like 2 days in labor you can get a epidural until 5cm or 6 I’m 99.9% sure

Best video I’ve seen on labor process for dads and mom… Excellent video thank you !
Great video. I read about this stuff before but after watching this, feel more prepared for our baby (expected in 2-4 weeks).
Yep, I remember that transition phase I literally transformed into a dragon at some point.

Great video. Thank you. My baby is expected to be here in a month.
“We went natural” you mean SHE went natural 😂
Watched this while on my way to the hospital lol
Thank you for sharing your experience
Amazing info, Thank You!🙏
My only tip is don’t faint. Don’t take the medical attention off the baby/mom, some nurses will just leave you there if it happens close to the end
Thanks for this, got 2 weeks to go! :D
I appreciate the advice man.
Good job dad! 😃
