Great repiar vdeo Dec! Cheers to your local tyre shop for helping you out. Must be a big relief getting the pick up hitch in working order after all this time, and ready to use on the dump trailer.
Great job dec , just bought a case 4240 XL and I see I have a hydraulic leak in back end just over where you fixed pick up hitch and user a little oil at blow pipe when I start any quick solutions here. Is there any where I can get manual for this tractor thanks Dec
Farmer Phil got a bale trailer from Whites trailers in Longford, and they might actually have second hand one's. Worth ringing up and sounding them out Declan.
We have used a 12 ton dump trailer behind our 4240XL. If conditions were a bit sticky or there were hills then you wouldn't want to bring a full load. Those trailers typically weigh 3.5 tons, so you're talking more than 15.5 tons behind a tractor that weighs just 3.5 tons! Also with 2 long rams the tractor can run out of oil when tipping unless it's overfilled.
Are you lifting the lift the extra bit by using the draft control

Hitch lever should not be stiff. You have to lift both levers up into constant pump b4 you can release

No need for a extra long handle, lift the arms right up and if the hooks still aren’t loose then adjust the hitch lift arms
Great video dec some good maintenance done there keep it up
Salvage Workshop covers the distributor and such with plastic then sprays it with Easy Off Oven cleaner before power washing.
Your new pickup hitch lever is the perfect position for the loader joystick
Hi lad you need to pull your lift lever up the full way plus your draft lever the full way to release the hitch
